Organize

If organizing is a hobby, then it’s probably my #1!  My parents tell me I started cleaning and organizing and rearranging my room as young as two years old, and now I couldn’t be happier that I have a whole household of my own to organize. It’s one of my favorite things to do for fun! #nerd

Top 5 Things I Do to Rest & Recharge

Top 5 Things I Do to Rest & Recharge

Thank you to Bare Necessities and ShopStyle for sponsoring today’s post.

I recently shared on Stories what I do on the weekends when I’m home alone and I got tons of feedback from y’all.

Whether you’re single, married, divorced, with kids or without, taking time to care for yourself is critical for your well-being.  The older I get, the more I learn that I don’t do well when things are too crammed together, overscheduled or chaotic.  I need that ‘white space’ in my life to unwind and decompress.

I’m choosing to look at my weekends as a gift,

How I Went from Lawyer to Blogger | Part 2

Hi friends!  Welcome back!  Thank you for your patience while I got my thoughts together for this post.  I’ve been surprised by how emotional writing about my journey has felt.  I’ve cried many times while writing both posts.  Remembering Dennis and now for this part, my Dad, has brought back so many feelings.

I hope parts of my journey inspire you in your own life, or that it simply helps knit us closer together. Opening up and being vulnerable tends to do that.

When Jordan started preschool this year and I shared how emotional it was for me, many of you sent me the sweetest messages saying you’ve been following me since I was pregnant with her and can’t believe how time has flown!  I’m with you- it goes so very fast!  But did you know that I’ve been blogging since my son James was just 4 months old?  He’s nine now!  My 10 year blogging anniversary was this summer!

So many of you have been with me (and James!) from the very beginning and I’m so very grateful for you!

10 DAILY HABITS AND HOW TO TRACK THEM (With FREE PRINTABLE)

Good morning friends!  Can you believe we’re already to August?!  Where has this summer gone?  I shouldn’t be surprised- every year it seems to fly by and before we know it, school is about to start again.  For us, the official first day of school starts on August 14, but the two days before that is when the kids get to meet the teacher and see who will be in their class.

This is an especially big deal for Jordan this year since she’ll be starting PK3.  Luckily, she’s familiar with the school and even many of the teachers since James has been going there since he was in PK3.

Good morning friends!  I hope you had a wonderful weekend!  I’m back from a quick girls’ trip to San Antonio and cannot wait to share the trip recap with you.  We ate, drank, shopped and most importantly laughed til we cried!  James mentioned to me yesterday that kids laugh 400 times a day and adults just 15!  Isn’t that wild?!  Bring on the FUN!

It’s so crazy to look back and remember how s l o w January felt and now we’re looking up and are already halfway through the year!

Good Monday morning friends!  I hope y’all had a fabulous weekend and are looking forward to this fresh, new week.

Everyday, I’m grateful to receive messages from you commenting on my positive attitude.  For today’s post, I wanted to dive into that because my true passion for this blog is to inspire you to ‘take care of YOU’.  If you’ve been with me for long, you know that mantra was passed down to me from my Grandma Nola and I want to pay it forward.

Morning Tips for a Productive Day

Thank you to Bloomingdale’s and ShopStyle for sponsoring today’s post.

I’m finally back to “normal” after our Memorial Weekend trip – it always takes me a few days back home to recover.  And we’re looking at just one more day of school before summer break officially starts.  This year started off so slow, but sure has sped up these last few months.

MORNING TIPS FOR A PRODUCTIVE DAY

Today, I’m sharing how I start my day so that I can get things done (GSD!) and be productive.  I’ve found that when my morning is off to a good start,

Oh yes, baby!  It’s time to GSD! If you’ve followed me for awhile and especially on Stories, you know I love to Get Sh*t Done!  Some of you smarties even recommended that we name the fitness eBook “Get Fit Done” and I have to say, I like it! 😉  So what does it look like when I GSD?  I don’t usually preplan or schedule in my GSD days, it’s more like I wake up and suddenly feel like I need one and then I get to it!

How to Organize Kids Papers & More Organizing and Productivity Tips

Good Monday morning friends!  How was your weekend?  We spent Saturday and Sunday in the country with my friends and it was such a welcome retreat!  Just the last hurrah we needed to be ready to really start the new year today!  I was in such a foggy first new year week of not knowing whether to sleep in and relax or set my alarm and get going.

But, I’m one of those people that can only laze around for so long before I get ansty and want to get up and get productive.  Well friends,

How To Plan Your Week with FREE Printable

I don’t know about you, but that first week back to school really kicked my booty! Planning my week is so important to stay on track, especially once back to school comes around. So today I’m sharing how to plan your week (with a free printable)!

We’re on to week three after back to school so we are in the groove now, but it was hard to let go of those lazy summer days!  We got a little bit of summer feeling by heading to the pool this weekend though!

I wore my swimsuit from my Amazon fashion haul and two ladies stopped and asked me where it was from while we were there.

How to Organize Toys in the Living Room

Good morning friends!  Did you have a great weekend?  We made it through the first week of school!  It was a little rough adjusting to the morning routine of getting James up and out the door on time.  And Jordan was not a fan of her big brother going off to school and leaving her behind!  We all miss him, but I’m a creature of routine and thrive best on a schedule, so it’s kind of good for me. And now that we’re a week in, I think we’re better.

I wasn’t as organized last week as I wanted to be,

Good morning friends!  Did you have a good weekend?!  I kicked mine off by chopping off a few more inches off my hair, which feels so good!  I guess something about Summer made me want to go shorter!  It’s soooo hot and humid here!  Which is why I mostly wear my hair up.  Speaking of, I have a Summer hair tutorial coming up for you tomorrow (you can view it here!) – think messy buns and voluminous ponytails!

With summer here, most of our daily routines have gone out the window.  My Type-A personality is freaking out without the structure of the school year,

10 Daily Habits for a Productive Day

I had the Mondayest morning ever yesterday walking into my living room, being very confused as to why Jordan was standing in a huge pile of sand.  And then I saw the empty breadcrumb container a few feet away.  These toddlers are quick I tell ya!  They don’t miss an opportunity for mischief!  But today is a new day and I think y’all are going to like today’s post!  It’s Part 2 in collaboration with my favorite fitness brand, Zella at Nordstrom, and it’s all about how to kick butt and be productive every day!  I LOVE writing these kinds of posts and sharing things like this,

Organized Pantry

Organized Pantry

Happy Monday friends! How was your weekend?  I feel like it’s been busy, busy lately but all good things like birthdays and sports and fun things for the blog!  You guys might laugh at me, but one thing I did on my birthday was organize my pantry! What can I say?!  I just finally couldn’t take the mess anymore! Our pantry serves double duty as dry food storage, entertaining and decor items, and it’s where all the cardboard boxes and recycling lives before it makes its way to the bins outside. After the holidays and a few parties, it was overflowing and it’s been a couple years since it got a major clean out!
