Oh man, it never ceases to amaze me how hard it is to get out of town!  I feel like I could write a productivity post on that on it’s own! My first tip would be : however long you think it’s going to take you to get ready, double it! PACKING FOR A GIRLS WEEKEND

It’s that time of year again when I get to head to Dallas for a blog conference.  I’ve mentioned before, but blogging at home alone all day can be very lonely!  It’s just you and your computer and there’s no one to drop by your office and chat about the latest episode of Real Housewives!  You have to force yourself to get out there and socialize and the phone chats become invaluable!   

So, needless to say, this mama will be squealing her tires out the door excited to get to Dallas for some fun with friends! Of course, I’ll miss my family, but I know they’re in good hands!  

First up on this agenda is of course, what to wear??  The conference is hosted by RewardStyle, the company that brings you the LikeToKnowIt technology and they are known for doing things first class. The event is always a stunner with no detail overlooked.  Everyone gets all gussied up and there are lots of photo ops!

I put together the line-up of what we’ll be doing and the suggested dress so I could plan my outfits.  Wearing heels all day AND night gets old fast, so I want to be both comfy and cute!  And also not freezing! Sometimes it’s so cold in those hotels and the weather is iffy right now.  Of course, I still need to accessorize, but here’s what I’m thinking!

I’ll be road tripping with my friends Sara and Veronika and it’s about a 4 hour drive from Houston.  Of course, I want to be comfy, so I’ll probably go with my travel uniform of crop joggers, a tee or tank with sneakers and a jean jacket.

What to Wear : Poolside Chic

I’m still undecided on the pool party attire, but I think that I can’t go wrong with the first tank dress.  I’m smitten with the color and easy style.  I’m thinking it will look great with wedges and my feet will thank me and I can simply dress it up with a fun tassel necklace.  Also, last year I almost fell into the pool, so I’d be safe with wedges! 😉

I feel great in these black and floral shorts and like that I can wear a breezy peplum blouse with them and also a white 3/4 sleeve jacket if I get chilly inside.  You’ve seen the navy version of this jacket styled here for work. These chunkier heels came in my first Trunk Club order and they are a keeper for sure!

What to Wear : Happy Hour Attire 

I’ve been dying to wear this dress ever since I put it on! It’s such a STUNNER and feels amazing on!  I couldn’t believe I found such a flattering dress that isn’t petite!  Yes, it’s a bit longer on me than on the model but I still love it! You’d be a head-turner for sure at your next Spring soiree or wedding or Gala!  My friend is wearing it to the Havana Nights themed gala and will be a hit! It’s got a high low hem with lots of volume that’s perfect for dancing and I love the slight sweetheart neckline and banded waist.

I can’t remember the last time I got to wear a little red dress somewhere and I adore this one! The style is playful and fun and the small cutouts on the side are minimal.  I also like the pattern on the crochet.

I like this embroidered dress also, but it runs small and, unfortunately, this one was a bit too tight on me.  Otherwise, it would have been a contender for sure!

Day Agenda : Pool & Spa

We’re taking advantage of the time off to get a massage on Sunday morning, which sounds dreamy!!  I’m gonna soak it up and I’m sure my feet will thank me after all the dancing I’m sure we’ll have done on Saturday night!

The tag is coming off this baby- it’s a keeper!  Like your favorite T-shirt, but in a maxi dress!  The fabric is lightweight and soft and the drawstring waist keeps it from looking frumpy.  Thankfully, it comes in petite so no alterations necessary! ?

I don’t think the weather will permit, but just in case, I’m bringing my swimsuit!   I love the crochet detail and how it’s artfully placed to emphasize your hourglass shape!  I’ve seen this suit on all kinds of body shapes and it always looks amazing!  And the straps are adjustable.

Aww, and then it will be home sweet home!  I’m always sure to pack jeans, sneakers and flip flops just in case!  You always want something comfortable.  For lounging, my Barefoot Dreams cozy cardi is a no brainer and I’m still loving these pajamas! They’re 40% off right now too!
