Self Tanning Towelettes

I’m in the camp that believes that my body looks better with a tan.  I’ve still got some residual color from the summer, but it’s fading.  I went to an event a few weeks ago at Nordstrom and they gave out a swag bag that contained Kate Somerville Tanning Towelettes.

In the past, I’ve always used a self tanning lotion or gel (I like Loreal Sublime Bronze okay), but I tried the Kate Somerville Towelette earlier this week and really liked the resulting color.  I think it looks very “tan” and natural.  Each package contains one towel (like a baby wipe) that you wipe all over your body.  I did notice that funny tanning smell, but it went away with the next shower.

If you want to try them, you can get them at Nordstrom here.  They retail for $48 for 8 or $75 for 16.

I really like Jergens Natural Glow Foaming Moisturizer (I use lighter shade since I'm pretty pale). It's awesome and works better if used every other day. It retails for about $8 and I have used it A LOT. States it has "no odor" but I think it has a tiny hint of it, but doesn't stick around like when you go to tanning salon. I really want to try those towelettes, but they're a bit too pricey for me.

I wish I could use them, but I'm so allergic to them all – even the one I purchased at Nordstrom I had to return. They make me break out in hives 🙁

St. Tropez bronzing mousse is my absolute favorite! It's probably the most natural tan I've seen from a self tanner – it looks brown, not orange (like a natural tan would).

I use Banana Boat Summer Color Sunless Tinted Lotion – I mix it in with my regular lotion and use it everyday. It doesn't smell too bad and it gives me a natural looking tan! Anything's better than tanning beds 😉

I have been loving following your blog and all the information you have been giving about your workouts and diet. It is so motivating! I looked into the Jaime Eason program you are doing right now and noticed that the nutritional portion of phase three seems so much more complicated and intimidating then the first two phases. What I loved about the first two phases is that there was no COUNTING haha and specific calories and all that. The third phase seems really specific about caloric intake and it's broken down by specific amounts for carbs, proteins, fats, ect. I was just wondering if you plan on following the nutrition part of the third phase as it instructs or if you will just stick to what you are doing now…the clean eating and 5-6 small meals a day? Either way I am just so anxious and excited to see your results!

Ocean Potion Ever Glow because it's not greasy or sticky. (I dislike the usual feel of lotion on my skin–once dry, this doesn't seem to have residue.) It also smells like an orange creamsicle! Color is gradual. Check the reviews on makeupalley for more details.

Megan, do you use only one towel per use and rub it all over the body? Does it now show up darker wherever it's first used?

I am a self-proclaimed self-tanning guru! I usually would go get a Versa spray tan about once every 10 days but bought the Versa self tan spray in a can the other day. It's the same stuff that is used in the machines. It's AMAZING!! The only thing is practicing application. If you look up airbrush techniques, you will get the picture. Anyway, thought I would share!

Oh, and you can get it off of Amazon for about 30 bucks but it lasts forever and is worth it. 🙂
