We made it to Friday! I don’t know about you, but this mama is ready for a drink! And if you have any tips on helping adjust a little baby to the time change, I’m all ears! I’m trying to push her bedtime back little by little, so hopefully she’ll adjust soon!
Of all the jackets in this Fall Must-Have Jackets series (see Part 1 here & Part 2 here), the jean jacket is the one I get the most use out of year round. It is without fail my favorite travel jacket because it’s compact, folds easily and doesn’t get wrinkled. You’ve seen me wear it for Spring/Summer here and here, but today is all about how to wear your jacket for Fall.
About now is the time when boho dresses and booties are in full effect and the jean jacket just gives it added interest and that “I just threw this thing on” afterthought type of feel.
This particular jean jacket is super special because of how soft it is. It’s kind of like a cross between a jean shirt (but much more sturdy) and your typical heavier jean jacket. It’s still got structure, but it’s almost blanket soft. It is a slim cut, but I still wear size XS so it fits more fitted. If you like a looser fit, size up one. I never wear my jacket buttoned up, but I can button it.
For a more casual look, you can roll the sleeves of your jacket like so:
And if you’re ready to bundle up a little more, a plaid top and tall boots is a great look with a jean jacket. I layered a white tank top underneath for that tiny pop of white and so I could unbutton the top.
You can keep your white jeans in rotation for Fall too. See more ways to wear white after Labor Day here. My favorite white jeans are by AG but they’re pricey and rarely go on sale. I love them because they fit like a real jean (98% cotton) and not a jegging like so many white jeans, so they fit really nice and smooth.
I searched and found two more pairs of white jeans with 99% cotton and 1% spandex that are great for the budget this pair for $69 and this pair for $79.
And you absolutely can wear your jean jacket with blue jeans! Here’s a blast from the past when I was pregnant with Jordan. The trick to not looking like you’re in a bad 80s video is to vary the denim color so it doesn’t look like a uniform.

For my one year old what helped was letting her cry/ talk to herself for a bit when she first woke up (at 5:30) instead of running in and getting her up. After a few days of that she seemed to readjust to her normal 6:30 wake up. Good luck!
That same denim jacket is one of the most worn items in my closet. I tried wearing white pants to church last week but chickened out due to fear of old lady judgy eyes. Ha!
I love this whole series! Those pendants are gorgeous too! And can I just say how BEAUTIFUL you look! Your hair color is perfect and no sleep becomes you – haha! I remember those days well . . .thank goodness they are temporary ?

Good to know! I think we're finally getting there! Those first days were rough!

Ha! Thank you! It's weird now to see pictures with such blonde hair.
Love these posts, Megan! Thank you! So many great ideas and what a cute throwback pic of your precious baby bump!
Can you believe that bump?! And that's when it was small!
