Here you’ll find lots of healthy meal options along with some not-so-healthy (but really yummy!) things because, who wants to eat chicken, rice and veggies all the time?!
Hi friend! Welcome to a fresh, new week! We had a really good weekend, starting with Jordan’s basketball game on Saturday. All her practicing in the driveway is really paying off- she’s a little hustler on the court! She made several shots and it’s so fun to watch!
I was in charge of the snacks and this collapsible tote came in very handy for transporting!
And, the best news of all- we got my mom moved into her new apartment! It’s a really cute home and only 2 miles from us. It’s been a long time coming and we’re all thrilled that she’s finally here!
Hi friend! I hope your weekend is off to a great start! If you’ve been here long you know I’m passionate about fitness, exercise and healthy eating. Over the years, I’ve found the easiest way to fuel my body with healthy foods is to meal prep.
I’ll take about an hour twice a week to prep my meals in advance. That way, when I’m ready to eat, all I have to do is pull out a premade meal and heat it up.
Hi friend! It’s almost the weekend, but this week I’ve been struggling to recall what day of the week we’re on. I guess the Monday off has me out of whack! You too?
I’m so smitten with the Drew Barrymore line of kitchen finds at Walmart! I’m been a fan of hers since E.T. and remember how stinkin’ cute she was in that movie and then years later she made headlines when she jumped up on David Letterman’s desk! Do you remember that? And guess what? Her birthday is two days after mine!
Hi friend! As I’m sure you can imagine, when we first moved into our new house, there were several take out meals, a pizza order and air fryerchicken nuggets on the menu before I made my first home cooked meal. And let me tell you, I’ve been dying to cook in our new kitchen!
Once we got settled, the first thing I made was banana bread. I’ve been craving the comfort of warm banana bread with dark chocolate chips as a healthier sweet treat,
Hi friend! Are you looking forward to the big game? Even if you’re not huge into sports, it’s still fun to watch the players take the field, and get in on the collective excitement! I like to see the new commercials and of course, the halftime show.
Do you have plans for Sunday? We’ll be keeping it low key, watching at home with Brian and the kids.
I’m still on my fitness challenge (it’s a marathon, not a sprint), so I thought it would be helpful to share some healthy (or healthier) game day snack options.
If you’ve been here for long, you know I love a good fitness challenge every once in awhile to mix things up and help me stay in shape.
Last year, when I was preparing to go on Summer vacation to Florida with Brian and the kids, I used that trip as motivation to lean up. It’s sometimes easier to dial things in and get focused when you have a specific event or deadline in mind. Maybe you have a vacation, reunion, wedding, birthday or anniversary you want to look and feel your best at.
Hi friend! How’s your week going? Can you believe we’re so close to Christmas? My shopping is pretty much done, so I’m feeling good about that! How about you?
I hope you brought your appetite today because I have one of my favorite, SUPER EASY homemade dessert recipes to share with you! I’ve been making this chocolate covered toffee for years, but I usually only make it in December, so it’s a special treat!
It’s nearly foolproof to make, but it looks fancy, so people are always impressed when you tell them it’s homemade. And it’s DELICIOUS!! I have a hard time just eating a few at a time.
Hi friend! Welcome to a brand new week! We had a wild weekend, jam packed with fun stuff, but it also takes a lot out of you! We had a Saturday morning Soccer game, then spent the day at Dewberry Farms where we walked over 10,000 steps! On Sunday, it was off to church and then Brian and I got dressed up for a fundraising dinner last night!
I feel like I need a weekend from my weekend! You ever feel that way?!
THE EASIEST LASAGNA
Last week, after school, Jordan asked if we could have lasagna for dinner.
Hi friend! I’ve done several posts about what I eat and my favorite sweet treats, and some of you have been curious ask about what my kids eat. Today, I’m sharing the kinds of things I pack in my kids’ lunch and hopefully it gives you some ideas to make lunches easier at your house.
I like to make things as simple as possible and lots of times my kids eat the same things on repeat. I don’t stress about them having lots of variety, but I wanted to give you several easy options in case your kids have different preferences.

Hi friends! Welcome back to my blog and to a brand new week! We’ve been soaking up these last few days before school starts this week. I can’t believe it’s already here! We’ll be meeting the kids’ teachers today and tomorrow and then their first day of school is Thursday!
Summer sure went fast this year. On the bright side, I always look forward to the familiar routine that the school year brings. The kids do better with that and I do too. It also helps with my fitness because most days I do my workout right after school drop off.
Hi friends! After weeks of healthy meal prep and getting in shape for Florida, I was really craving a sweet treat the other night. I was going to make banana nut bread with dark chocolate chips, but when I pulled out my recipe binder, the recipe for Chocolate Pecan Pie Bars looked too good to resist! Never mind that it was about 9 p.m., but at least it was the weekend!
My friend Jessica served this dessert after dinner when she and her hubby had Brian and I over for dinner one night. She served it hot with a side of ice cold vanilla ice cream and it was so delicious!
Hi friends! One good thing about a long weekend is a short work week! We’re almost to Friday already!
And then it’s just one.more.week of school for my kiddos! Are y’all already on Summer break? Our school started later this year, so that’s why they’re going into June this year. I know many of you homeschooled this year and my hat’s off to you! That is no easy task! PRAISE GOD for our teachers!!
6 QUICK HEALTHY SNACKS
Now let’s get to today’s post! When I shared my healthy meal prep, I got such great feedback,
Hi friends! I’m so excited for today’s post! As y’all probably know by now, I’ve been working on getting in shape for my upcoming trip to Florida with Brian and the kids this summer. Having a goal and set date in mind helps keep me motivated! I’ve been at it for nearly 5 weeks and have 4 weeks to go!

Hi friends! Happy weekend! Can you believe we’re almost to March?! We’re celebrating Jordan’s birthday today (a week late) and we’ll be celebrating James’ birthday next week. I can’t believe he’s about to be 11! He’s growing into such a young man, and he’s almost the same size as me!
This week has been such a blessing to be able to return to some semblance of normal. The kids went back to school on Monday and we were so thankful that they were able to. I got my house cleaned up and even got a car wash, which was badly needed.

Hi friends, how’s your week going? It’s really feeling like back to real life after the holidays and now that we’re well into January. This time of year, it’s common to reevaluate things in our life. We think about ways we can be happier and healthier, how we can live less stressed and with more intention. I’ve been pondering these things in my own life too. Some things I’m already doing really well with (after years of trial and error);

Hi friends! I hope you had a wonderful weekend and that your week is off to a great start! I’ve been sharing glimpses of my cooking recently (remember that Redfish topped with mushroom and crab sauce?!) or the sautéed veggies – but more than the food inside the pan, y’all were interested in the type of pan I was using!
I was sent the Always Pan by Our Place to use and review, and after owning it for over a month, I’m ready to share my experience with you!
Hi friends! I’m so glad you found yesterday’s Black Friday Sales Now post helpful! Are y’all getting reading excited for Thanksgiving?! I am!
I’ll be hosting my mom and brother at my house for Thanksgiving on Thursday, so now the countdown is on! Thankfully, my sis-n-law Jessica is splitting the cooking duties with me and she is always ON IT when it comes to planning these things. She wrote out our menu on the Notes app on her phone and sent it to me- I had no idea you could edit Notes!
Hi friends! I hope you had a great weekend! Mine was pretty chill with a few runs at the park and a long awaited get together with a couple girlfriends. I’ve lost count of what week of this situation we’re in, but I know it’s been too long since I got to see my friends.
We are all being careful and taking safety precautions and thankfully a couple of us were able to meet up in honor of Trisa’s birthday. I know it meant the world to her and to us too. We’ve been friends since college and I can’t believe we are in our 40s now!
