How about them Astros?!!  We’re going to the WORLD SERIES!!!! Cue the confetti!!!  We let out a collective cheer when the Astros clinched it and everyone is just so excited for this thrilling news! We had to cheer quietly since Jordan was asleep, but we still cheered! 😉 Our whole town is beyond excited and overwhelmed with emotion, especially after all the heartache of Hurricane Harvey.  It’s good news that is helping heal our wounded city. #HoustonStrong
GIMME ALL THE PUMPKINS
On Friday, my Mom and I took Jordan to a small pumpkin patch near our house and let her run among the pumpkins for the first time.

Talk about a whirlwind trip!  Thank you so much to Better Homes & Gardens for inviting me to NYC, I don’t take those opportunities for granted!  But, I have to say, without your readership and support of this blog, BH&G wouldn’t even know who I was! So, thank you to YOU for reading and commenting and engaging with me here and on social media!  I loved sharing our trip with you as it happened on Stories!   IG Stories are awesome because they are live and in action so you get a better feeling of the person than just reading their words.

Welcome to the start of a new week friends! I hope you had a glorious weekend!  This weekend kicked off the official start to our baseball season and the first game was Saturday.  Our kids in the 6-8 year old range are definitely getting the hang of this sport now, so it’s extra fun to watch them battle it out on the field.  Of course, I’m still running after an active toddler most of the time, so I’m lucky to get to watch half the game.  Last year, I made the mistake of letting Jordan hold my iPhone to “entertain”

Oh Florida friends, I’ve been thinking about you all weekend!  I’ve seen you evacuating your homes and I remember from Hurricane Rita how painful that can be with the gas shortages and the crazy amount of traffic.  I’ve been watching the news like crazy and I’ve heard from some of you this weekend.  I know how scary this is, so please know that my thoughts and prayers are with you!  And I can’t believe it’s been 16 years since September 11.  It still feels like it happened yesterday because it’s a day that is forever etched in our hearts and we all know exactly what we were doing the moment of the attack on our great country.

YOU Caring Fund for 6 Families at Our School Who Lost Their Homes

Hello friends! I hope you had a great, long Labor Day weekend.  It’s been quite an emotional week here as I’m sure you can imagine.  We had planned to go on a family Labor Day weekend trip to Wimberley, Texas (including my mom and brothers and their wives and kids), but with all that’s happened here lately, we ended up cancelling.  We were disappointed to miss, but we used that time here for good and continued volunteering at a local church (First Baptist) and were grateful to see the fruits of everyone’s hard labor come to fruition.

Hurricane Harvey Relief Update & Good News

Hurricane Harvey Relief Update & Good News

Hi friends!  I wanted to give you another update on Hurricane Harvey because I know how much you care.  It’s all that’s on our hearts and minds lately.   I shared ways you can help yesterday, but I’m learning more as the days pass and more information is being disseminated, so I have more to share today.  Along with some inspiring stories in the midst of all the suffering.  We could use some good news, right?

Although it has continued to rain, the water surrounding our neighborhood subsided and we were able to get out of our house in the morning to donate items to the George R.

Good morning friends! I had planned to post about skincare today, but in light of the recent devastating events in Houston and the surrounding areas like Rockport, Corpus Christi, Port Aransas and more, I’m postponing that so I can just talk to you from my heart today.

Although we haven’t been badly affected by the storm, so many of our friends and neighbors have. We had heard it was going to be bad over the weekend, but it’s just been getting worse and worse.  50 counties flooded, 30,000 people are in shelters,

How’s your week going friends?  I’m just over here counting down the days ’til the 2017 Nordstrom Anniversary Sale like a kid at Christmas!  It’s so close, opening this Thursday for cardholders.  🙋🏼I got a friendly letter in the mail letting me know they upped my limit just in time for the sale- #thankyouverymuch!  We’ll keep this little detail to ourselves and not bother the hubby with that tidbit of info!  😉  Are you excited?!?! Of course, I’ll be sharing my picks on Thursday and then a big ‘ole dressing room round up on Friday with fit tips and recommendations. Let me know what you have questions about and I’ll do my best investigative journalism for ya!

ten summer faves on sale

1. Cold Shoulder Dress $118 $50

This swingy striped! cold shoulder dress is perfect for daytime or evenings out.  Love the simplicity of it and the drapey fabric.  Such a steal at right under $50!  For a daytime look, you could wear it with the #10 sandals (they have lots of colors) & for evening, these black open toe heeled sandals would be great.

2.  Statement Ring $50 $20

Show off your summer mani with this gorgeous, chic statement ring! I like to wear it on my first or middle finger on my right hand with a bold bracelet.

3.  Crystal & Enamel Hinged Bangle $48 $41

This simple bangle bracelet is the perfect layering piece to your watch or with a stack of other bracelets, or worn simply alone.

4. Blue Maxi Dress $52 $39

I’m sure you’ve heard me rave about this maxi dress before.  Every time I wear it, I get tons of compliments and it’s really flattering and comfortable.  It’s on sale under $40!  I wear XS.

5. Peacock Iphone Case $50 $25

How cute is this peacock phone case?!  Your mirror selfies will be so much cuter with this little guy peeking out in them!

6. Zella High Waist Crop Leggings $65 $43

High waist leggings will be your BFF, I swear!  They keep you all nice and tucked in and make you feel great while working out.  Zella quality is always superb, and this pair comes in three colors with criss-cross detail at the calf.  They run TTS, I wear size XS.

7. Z 6 Ruched Tee $32 $16

Although I normally wear a tank to workout, this Zella tee is my go-to when I want a t-shirt.  The seams in the shirt are perfectly placed to help the illusion of a smaller waist and I like the cut of the sleeves that don’t irritate me when I’m working out.

8. Faux Leather Saddle Bag $79 $53

This crossbody bag is the prettiest light and navy blue combo.  It’s also a good size, so it will hold all your necessities and then some.

9. Striped Tank $19 $11

My go-to tank, $11!!!  I think I need to stock up on the other colors.  It’s perfect for wearing alone or layering under cardigans or other tops.  It fits TTS, XS here.

10. GiGi Sandals $60 $42

I have the older version of these sandals and they are really good! They come in tons of colors and the “beige leather” has a snakeskin pattern that goes with everything.   Sam Edelman makes quality shoes that last, so I highly recommend them!

Boot Storage & Printed Photos

Today’s post is the kind I’ve come to enjoy with you where I just share random bits of things going on over here.  I like these posts because they are so casual, like we’re having a girl talk that naturally goes in lots of different directions.  I have several things to share with you today, from boot organization to pretty books for your coffee table or bookshelf.  But, I’m probably most excited about finding an awesome place to print your photos to frame!

I finally got around to organizing my boots!  I’ve had this idea that I’m sure I saw on Pinterest somewhere where you use a pool noodle as a way to keep your boots upright and in good shape.

I’m sitting here on the couch typing this up on Sunday night while Jordan is sleeping and James is over at a friend’s house.  That means lots of catching up on Southern Charm! I’m not immune to the pull of reality tv, but I’m late to this one.  I just started watching last season, so I’ve been catching up on the first few seasons lately.  I don’t even know why I like it so much, but I think Cameron is darling, Patricia is a hoot, Shep is the cutest (but ladies beware!), and poor Katherine. I wish she’d get it together for her and her kids’

Here we are back to the week friends!  And back to my 5am mornings! I hope y’all had a great weekend!  We had lots of baseball (two games and a party), but also got a few things done around the house, which always feels good.  And I ordered this for our backyard and can’t wait to get it! Will be loads of fun for Jordan since it’s already getting so hot here!

Today is another ‘This & That’ post, which is quickly becoming my favorite way to catch you up on lots of what’s going on here in one big round up post.

Weekend Wrap Up & Top 3 Organization Goals

Weekend Wrap Up & Top 3 Organization Goals

Hi friends! I spent the better part of yesterday recuperating from our busy weekend and then trying to get myself organized for the week ahead!  Ideally, I’d have a head start on that on Sunday night, but I was knee deep into Southern Charm reruns, so I had a hefty to-do list to create on Monday morning.

Did y’all have a good Mother’s Day weekend? I hope you got spoiled rotten and felt so very loved! Our weekends lately have been filled with lots of eating out! This mama doesn’t like to cook on Friday, so if the kids cooperate, we try to go out.

How was your weekend, friends?! I feel like all we did was eat! but it was nice to go out a few times for a change since we don’t get to do that much.  Unlike Jordan who eats everything, James is a super picky eater, so he doesn’t really enjoy going to restaurants. Lucky for him, we went for ice cream & frozen yogurt this weekend!  Two things of course he likes!

And we’re always running around at the park, and couldn’t help but share one of my favorite recent pics of Jordan!  She’s such a toddler now and it’s killing me!!!!

Happy Friday friends!  Have you had a good week?  We’re always ready for the weekend, right?! It’s been a big week over here so this post is a hodge podge of things to fill you in on what’s been going on lately!  I’ll do another post with lots more details and specifics on a few of these things, but for now, here is the big picture snapshot.

First up, some beauty news I’ve been meaning to update you with! Remember I talked to you about my experience with lash extensions and how they damaged my natural lashes?

Hi friends! ? How was your weekend?  We’re actually on Day 4 of a long weekend here, so James is home from school and we are supposed to be getting torrential rain, so it’ll just be a quiet day inside for us.  That’s fine with me since over the weekend we had a birthday bash for Jordan, celebrating that special ONE YEAR milestone!  Isn’t that such a big one?!  It’s like, “Hallelujah, we survived!!  Our baby is happy and healthy and we didn’t kill her or each other! Praise the Lord!”

Lots of you popped over to my IG to wish Jordan a happy birthday and we couldn’t appreciate you more!

New Marble Dining Table

Hi! How was your weekend?!  I started mine with hot yoga again and let me tell you, this time it was HOT!!  The first session we were in a huge room and it took it much longer to heat up and even then, it didn’t feel that hot.  But this time, it was a small room and immediately when I walked in, the thermostat said 96!  I was sweating so much the entire time, I couldn’t even keep my face wiped dry! But, the class seemed to go by faster and before I knew it, the hour was up!  I really enjoy this new way of working my body,
