56 Things To Do With Kids This Summer

56 Things To Do With Kids This Summer

Thank you to Macy’s and ShopStyle for sponsoring today’s post.

How’s your summer going friends? I can’t believe we’re already to the end of June! It feels like summer is going so fast! I am sleeping in about an hour later than usual, but I still have a little morning time to myself before the house wakes up. Summer To-Do List

Summer To-Do List

Ever since creating my home agenda, I’ve been tackling some “to-dos” around the house and making lists of larger projects I want to accomplish in the future.  Watching my son go from rolling over and cooing to running around the house at mock speed while singing his ABC’s makes me  consider what’s important and how I want to spend my time, since life seems to go by so quickly! Kate from Centsational Girl is hosting a summer link party today, and I’m joining in with a few favorite summer food and drink-related goodies!

How delicious and inviting does the picnic spread below look?  I love how it’s all served from a huge, casual basket.  A glass of crisp chardonnay, some fresh fruit, and a big hunk of brie with crackers is a tiny piece of heaven.  Of course, right now in Houston you’d better be serving your picnic indoors if you want to be comfortable:)

Lunch served with a side of refreshing mint iced tea is too good to pass up!

I used a piece of burlap ($3 a yard at Hobby Lobby) and frayed the ends for the runner,

and it’s HOT!  We’re talking 100+ degrees and you’re sweating immediately upon stepping outside.  Like it’s too hot to be outside unless there’s a pool or some sprinklers involved.  And it’s making my crave ice cream!

We had friends in from New York this weekend and enjoyed hitting up a couple of our favorite restaurants (Pappasitos and Buffalo Grille) and then barbecuing up some veggies and shrimp at our house on Sunday with some frozen margaritas and homemade guacamole (courtesy of my hubby).  I added a little summer decor to our house too, which I’ll show you tomorrow.
