Etsy and online sources are a great find for affordable art and I finally had the chance to order a few pieces when thinking about a gallery wall for my office.  I bought a collection of typography, abstract art, watercolor, and illustrations.   I don’t have that much wall space in my office though since the Ikea Expedit takes up a big chunk of the largest wall, I have a large window, and three doors.  So, only two of my prints are actually hanging on the wall!

This “Love Never Fails” print is from online retailer Lara Casey Shop in gold foil lettering (8×10) hung inside a matted Target frame.

Kid Gallery Wall

Kid Gallery Wall

I’ve wanted to add a gallery wall to our home for a long time, but have gotten totally intimidated and overwhelmed because they seem like a lot of work and I don’t feel like I really know how to put them together.  When we changed up my son’s nursery and put the bed where the changing table used to be, I had a huge blank wall that I knew would be perfect for a gallery wall.  And something about it being in a kid’s room seemed to take the pressure off.  It’s not perfect, and it’s not necessarily supposed to be,

Inexpensive Botanical Wall Art

Isn’t it so nice to have a long weekend?  The extra time with my hubby and baby around all together at home was so nice.  And James has started becoming such a ham (loves to laugh and make you laugh too) that it’s great to be able to share these moments with Jimmy, instead of just soaking them in by myself when I’m alone with James.  It’s that glance we give each other like, “How could this baby be so impossibly cute?” and happy!

Aside from marveling at that cuteness, I did manage to complete a project that I’d been wanting to do for a while- add some art to our pitifully empty bedroom walls!

Adding Some Art

Adding Some Art

Because we moved from a dark, dreary townhouse, our current home was specifically designed to have plenty of windows to allow lots of natural light to flow into the rooms.  Also, our house, specifically downstairs, is kind of “open” without much wall space, so there isn’t a lot of room for hanging art and photos.  We do have a PERFECT wall for art, however, there is one little problem.  Somehow, our thermostat was placed practically in the middle of that wall!  Our builder/friend stopped by tonight (he lives on our street:) and told us that the thermostat (and ceiling fan remote) can be relocated to another wall!!!!
