A habitual list-maker and recovering washy-tape addict, I have a special affinity for all things related to being organized and productive in our day-to-day lives. Here you’ll find lots of ideas you can immediately implement for how to be productive and get things done.
Oh yes, baby! It’s time to GSD! If you’ve followed me for awhile and especially on Stories, you know I love to Get Sh*t Done! Some of you smarties even recommended that we name the fitness eBook “Get Fit Done” and I have to say, I like it! 😉 So what does it look like when I GSD? I don’t usually preplan or schedule in my GSD days, it’s more like I wake up and suddenly feel like I need one and then I get to it!
Good Monday morning friends! How was your weekend? We spent Saturday and Sunday in the country with my friends and it was such a welcome retreat! Just the last hurrah we needed to be ready to really start the new year today! I was in such a foggy first new year week of not knowing whether to sleep in and relax or set my alarm and get going.
But, I’m one of those people that can only laze around for so long before I get ansty and want to get up and get productive. Well friends,
I don’t know about you, but that first week back to school really kicked my booty! Planning my week is so important to stay on track, especially once back to school comes around. So today I’m sharing how to plan your week (with a free printable)!
We’re on to week three after back to school so we are in the groove now, but it was hard to let go of those lazy summer days! We got a little bit of summer feeling by heading to the pool this weekend though!
I wore my swimsuit from my Amazon fashion haul and two ladies stopped and asked me where it was from while we were there.
Today is a super exciting day, like realizing it’s serious with you and your boyfriend and finally bringing him home to meet your parents! I have that same giddy feeling today because I’m introducing you to a special person, Shannon, who’s been working with me on my blog for the past several months! I’ve come to know and love her and I hope you do too!
Good morning friends! I’m finally over my lingering cold and had some time to get my life together, so I could finally give you a recap of the Dallas blog conference! And as promised, I brought you back some blogging tips to help you grow your own blog!
BLOG CONFERENCE RECAP
This girls’ weekend is always a blast and the conference is really well done with gorgeous details, fun parties, and one-on-one time with brands you have worked with in the past or may partner with in the future.
More than that, it’s an opportunity to hang out with friends that you don’t normally get to see since we’re all over the map!
I had the Mondayest morning ever yesterday walking into my living room, being very confused as to why Jordan was standing in a huge pile of sand. And then I saw the empty breadcrumb container a few feet away. These toddlers are quick I tell ya! They don’t miss an opportunity for mischief! But today is a new day and I think y’all are going to like today’s post! It’s Part 2 in collaboration with my favorite fitness brand, Zella at Nordstrom, and it’s all about how to kick butt and be productive every day! I LOVE writing these kinds of posts and sharing things like this,
Thank you for the love on Jordan’s nursery! Isn’t it wild how fast she’s growing?! And now that we’re almost a quarter into the year (already?!), it’s time to check in and re-asses all those goals we set for ourselves at the beginning of the year. If you read my How to Plan Your Entire Year In Advance or How To Plan Your Day for Maximum Efficiency, then you know how much I love being productive and organized. It’s easy to feel motivated on January 1st when things are all fresh and new,
And just like that we’re back to Monday! How was your weekend? We had a full one with the At Home event with Brittany and Ashley from Shanty2Chic on Saturday (full recap post coming soon!) and then my friend Ali-Shaun and I spent a couple hours at the Galleria on Sunday to help her pick out some new things for her wardrobe.
You might remember her as the adorable one in the heart pajamas at our Favorite Things party and she pops up on my Stories from time to time! She’s also the one that introduced me to Vietnamese iced coffee!
Hi friends! What a weekend! I don’t usually get to do much Storying (is that a word now?!) on the weekends since we’re doing all the family things, but I made an exception this weekend and did a video tutorial as a visual aid to my hair curling tutorial post. Then y’all were asking for a Day 2 hair tutorial and I did that too! Well, as best I could with Jordan ‘helping’! If you missed them, the video hair tutorials are saved to my regular Instagram as a highlight. Highlights are those circles below my profile and above the regular pictures.
Happy Martin Luther King Day friends! We get the day off school to honor this great man and always stop to appreciate the ways he helped change our world for the better. Thank you Dr. King!
I’ve been working on this post for a few weeks and I’m so happy it’s finally ready for you! One of the things I’ve been doing for a long time now is calendaring out my whole year in January. It may sound crazy or a little too rigid, but if you give it a try, I PROMISE you, you will end up loving it!
Every year I like to challenge myself in new ways for personal growth. In 2017, I started waking up early so that I could get my workout over and done with before my day started and I also I started meditating. Even though I’m definitely NOT a morning person, I actually loved working out early and how it set my day up for success. I was really good about getting up early all summer, but have slacked off toward the end of the year, so I’m ready to get back at it!
How did that first day of 2018 treat ya?! Because I played old lady and went to bed early on NYE, and yet still slept in, I woke up feeling like a champ! My mom came over, which gave me a chance to get a good workout in on Day 1! Pretty good start to the new year if you ask me!
Hello friends! I hope you had a wonderful Christmas yesterday! James woke up at about 6am, but Jordan was still sleeping, so we waited for her and when she was still sleeping at almost 7:30, we went in and woke her up too. I can’t believe James held out for so long, but we wanted to experience the morning together! I love seeing the kids’ faces light up when they see that Santa came- it’s so full of sheer joy and delight! Jordan saw her big zebra and kept calling it a cow! James is the sweetest little boy and just so thankful for everything!
We are slowly but surely working our way back into normal life around here. I shared yesterday how you can help the six families at our school that lost their homes during the Hurricane. I know that Harvey has taken a toll on all of us, but the sun is shining now and there is a real sense of hope and strength surrounding us. Please go here if you feel led to give to one of those families. I know they appreciate it more than words could ever express.
Today’s post is perfectly timed because it’s a collaboration with a group of other bloggers to share a day in our ordinary lives!
Happy Monday friends! We’re back from our trip to New Orleans and we had the best time! It’s pretty rare that we travel without the kids, so this was a special treat! We crammed so much into the two-day trip and I can’t wait to share it all with you on Wednesday! We got home Sunday afternoon and even though we were so tired from late nights and early mornings, we powered through and got a ton done. I didn’t want to wake up on Monday morning and still have to unpack, do laundry, grocery shop and meal prep, so we took care of it Sunday night.
Hi friends! How was your weekend?! As usual, ours flew by too fast and now we’re staring down the last week of summer break! To celebrate, we’ve got some fun things planned this week, starting with a trip to the zoo this morning. There’s a brand new baby elephant named “Joy” that was just born last month! I don’t think we’ve ever taken Jordan to the zoo, so I can’t wait to see how she enjoys it.
I think we’ll also go feed the horses, since that’s something James said he wants to do again. In Houston,

Rise and shine, friends! I’m definitely not that chipper in the morning, nor am I a morning person (as my hubby can attest), but I made a commitment to waking up at 5 a.m. at the start of May as a way to get my workouts in. It’s been a great feeling to be up and moving before the sun is even up and I’m sticking with it!
I’ll do another post soon with all my tips and tricks (and there are a few!) for how to get your booty up that early.
Is today your kids’ first day back to school? If so, I’m sending you hugs and congratulations for making it through the summer with everyone in tact! I might have squealed the tires out the driveway on our first day back, but maybe you have more restraint. 😉 Our son went back early, so we’re already on Week 3 and Labor Day weekend is on the horizon.Since I’m all about routines to keep our mornings running on the smoother side, I’m sharing how our weekday mornings look around here now with a first grader and six month old! Gah! Can you believe Jordan is six months old already?!
