Nordstrom Anniversary Sale 2017 : What to Buy
There is so much goodness to be had, but it can be a little overwhelming to comb through everything and find the gems! I’ve done that for you! If you’re wondering what to buy, here are my picks!
You will for sure want the Circle Cardigan, basically the softest thing you’ll ever own and want to live in. You’ll wear it year round when cozying on the couch, but you can take it outside too. I got several to give as Christmas gifts this year too and I know I will have some happy friends and family on my hands!
These designer Ankle Skinny Jeans jeans will make you look like a skinny mini and they are super stylish with the raw edge hem. Save $75 during the sale. They fit TTS.
For a budget friendly, but still high-quality pair of dark wash skinnies, this pair is the best in the sale at under $60. Fits TTS.
These Kut from the Kloth bootcut jeans are amazing and give you legs for days, just size down because they have a lot of stretch in them. Under $60. The 0P fit me, but had they come in 00P, I would have gotten that.
The Caslon Utility Pants are so, so good that even after I took all these dressing room pictures, I put these back on to wear for the day! They’re super comfy and stretchy and fit perfectly everywhere- and no gaping in the waist, so no alterations needed! You can dress them up or down and I promise they will become one of your wardrobe staples. With the 0P, I can wear them cuffed for a little ankle peeking out, or down without hemming. Under $50! I did a whole post about them here.
Everyone needs a basic tee that is effortless, chic and comfortable. This is that tee (so soft!) and it’s under $20. It runs big, but also comes in petite.
In the sweater department, I loved this cowl neck waffle stitch sweater that you can wear sooner rather than later (runs big), this relaxed, v-neck sweater ($25!), and this sophisticated bell sleeve sweater with contrasting hem color (runs big).
This military jacket is fitted and structured with a drawstring waist that gives you a feminine silhouette. You can layer this lighter weight jacket over tops and dresses alike.
Up the cool factor with this $65 black moto jacket. It’s faux leather with silver zippers and a notched collar.
No matter your climate, everyone can use a packable jacket like this one, ($60 off). It’s down filled so it will keep you super warm, but won’t take up a lot of room in your suitcase. It comes in regular and petite.
You’ll find a great deal on this long cardigan with pockets ($32 and comes in lots of colors). At 5’1, I found it just about too long on me, but it will be the perfect comfy addition for those a little (or a lot) taller.
For excellent workout wear that actually makes you want to go exercise if only to show off your cute outfit, get the Zella high-waist capri leggings (they’ll keep you all tucked in and hide any belly you might self-conscious about); the t-back tank, and the best jog bra (even for those with larger chests). It fits according to your bra size.
The PERFECT T-Shirt bra is included in the sale! Remember, it’s the one I was giddy to find that’s wireless and seamless with good lift. This sale bra comes in brown and navy, so perfect under your darker clothes. It’s the bra I wear almost daily now. Fits TTS.
My very favorite “forget-you’re-wearing-them” seamless panties that stay in place all day and are ultra comfortable are back in pretty colors like pink and aqua. I don’t really understand ‘one size’ panties, but the saleslady at Nordstrom told me these are her #1 selling undies and women of lots of shapes and sizes swear by them.
You can’t come away from the sale without a great pair of booties and boots. There were only a few stand outs this year, namely this peep toe bootie with a taller block heel and this lower heeled bootie with perforations and cute side v-cutouts. I bought this bootie for a perfect, versatile and well-made shoe that felt great on my feet. Fits TTS.
This heeled slide in grey was the surprise shoe of the sale. It’s amazingly comfortable and looked great with everything I tried it on with. And it’s under $50! I sized up 1/2.
This over-the-knee boot is this year’s winner with a slim profile and 20-inch shaft for those on the shorter side.
These running shoes are not only pretty, but breathable and lightweight with amazing cushioning.
If you don’t already own a pair of Hunter rain boots, now’s the time to invest and save $65. You will be so surprised at all the opportunities to wear them (even muddy ballfields) and they last forever. This shorter pair is sleeker and less bulky than its taller counterpart, so particularly good for shorter ladies. They only come in 1/2 sizes, so you may need so size up.
The accessories I’d snatch up are the Gorjana beaded bracelet, the gold circle bracelet that reminds me of Joanna Gaines, these Kendra Scott earrings
This zip leopard clutch gets all the heart eyes and looks super expensive in person, but is only $53. For a solid option, this $50 suede clutch with tassel caught my eye, but I couldn’t decide between basic black or bold yellow. I ordered this suede crossbody bag as an everyday staple and can’t wait to see how it looks in person- $80 off!
Finally, the rugs I have in my kitchen that y’all always ask me about are included in the sale!

Happy shopping, friends!!
