What is an ebook & how do I read it?

An “ebook” is an electronic book that you can read on your phone, iPad, or computer.  Once you download it, it will be available on your browser on your phone, laptop or iPad. Then, you can select “download” to save it to your computer.

How long is the Get Fit Done Guide and can you tell me more about what’s in it?

Get Fit Done is 128 pages of health and fitness goodness!  As we started putting it together, it grew and grew because we wanted it to be completely comprehensive and valuable to you.

Included in the GFD guide are:

We don’t currently offer that option, however, you can print yourself or send to a third party printer like Fedex.  There is a print release in the back of the book.

Will this plan work for me?

If you follow the plan closely, we are positive you will see big changes. You just have to stick with it and not get discouraged.

Why does it cost $79?

We understand that personal trainers and gym memberships are expensive, and all of these workouts are personally created by Cari, fitness expert, personal trainer and nutrition coach with over 10 years of experience,\ specializing in helping women just like you meet their fitness goals.  She was even the official trainer for the Houston Rockets Power Dancers and still trains and coaches NBA dancers and NFL cheerleaders.

Thankfully, she works with regular folks like me too! I’ve done the workouts in the guide and they are LEGIT!  But the good news is, there are modifications for every fitness level.  We wanted workouts that could be done at home, in a short period of time, and with minimal equipment.  The GFD workouts check all those boxes!

So, instead of paying for weekly sessions with a personal trainer and gym membership, we’re thrilled to offer you this GFD guide as your own personal coaching sessions and meal plans for just $79.

What if I only want the workout portion?

We may offer this in the future. However, we feel that to get the most out of this plan and the best results,  you need to have both: great workouts and a healthy diet!

What if I’m diabetic?

Please check with your doctor first and make sure this plan is suitable for you. But, more than likely, they will say it is ok. Our diet is very low in sugar and contains almost no processed foods. We also include weeks with lower carbohydrates and starches. Also, studies show that if you lose weight and have an active lifestyle, your diabetes risk goes down substantially and our plan can help you with that.

What if I’m not a good cook?

It’s ok if you aren’t a good cook! Most of our recipes are pretty simple and include things that can be made with less than 5 ingredients.

Can my teenage kids do this plan?

The plan is recommended for ages 18 and up. However, if you or someone you know is younger and want to do the plan – check with your doctor first. You may need to modify some of the workouts and adjust the food you are eating depending on your current weight and fitness level.

I’m pregnant – is this plan safe for me?

Check with your doctor first. You may need to to increase your calories and healthy fats in the meal plan. Also, depending on how far along you are, you will need to modify some of the exercises. We do give tips in the guide for expecting mothers.

I’ve heard a lot about BCAA’s. Do you talk about that in the book?

We don’t specifically address BCAAs in the book, but we do talk about the essential amino acids. You can get them all from single source protein foods such as meat, eggs, dairy, etc. If you’re vegetarian you can eat “complete proteins” such as beans and rice, that combined have the essential amino acids. BCAAs only contain 3 of the 9 essential amino acids and Whey protein (which we do recommend) contains them all. If you don’t like whey we recommend plant based protein. So long story short…we do address this and we don’t think BCAAs are necessary for our plan. If you like to take the supplement that’s fine, but just don’t overdo it on the the protein. Your body can only absorb so much (less than you may think) and the rest is just eliminated through your system.

Why does this program work?

We developed this program to help people of all ages and all-levels get fit and start a doable workout and fitness program. We are both busy moms of 2 and wanted to create workouts that could be done at home with minimal equipment, as well as recipes that are quick and easy. We believe that the plan is easy to follow, is fun and will introduce you to new styles of workouts and eating that are great for your mind and body.We have also included lifestyle tips and how to carve out time just for you, which is important. Having a plan to succeed helps and we’ve included all the tools for that!

How did you choose these workouts?

Most of these workouts are HIIT workouts (high intensity interval training) which is proven to burn the most fat and condition your body the fastest. We chose moves that are creative and fun to do but also work your body and muscles the most efficiently. Most of the workouts are geared towards women’s bodies and are suitable for all-levels. We carefully tested out each exercise and workout and chose ones that do the most in the shortest amount of time.

What about the meal plans – why will they help me?

For most people – it really helps to have a plan for workouts and diet. Our meal plan is easy to follow and includes a variety of foods for you to try. We developed and tested these recipes and know you will love them! The plan is a little different each week because we want you to “mix things up” – which is why we believe you will get quick results. We have a mix of low-carb, high-protein, low-fat and even vegetarian weeks.

Is Megan a fitness expert?

Megan is not a “fitness expert” but she does know a thing or two about fitness! She got into great shape after both of her kids were born and, with a lot of hard work and dedication to workouts and diet, she competed in 2 NPC Bikini competitions- both after age 35! She talks about health and fitness on her blog regularly and it’s a big part of her life. She teamed up with Cari, who holds multiple fitness certifications, to develop the plan.

Tell me more about Cari.

Cari started out in the fitness industry over 10 years ago as a personal trainer and group fitness instructor at one of Houston’s top gyms. She taught (and still teaches) everything from yoga, step class, boxing and even kids fitness classes. She was asked to appear on local tv to demonstrate exercises with some other trainers at her gym. Then, she caught the eye of NBC Universal and ExerciseTV out in LA and they asked her to come film a fitness DVD! She starred in “Long Lean Legs” and also did many other fitness projects for NBC and E! including leading workouts with President Obama’s personal trainer. She has since continued to be a regular on tv talking about health and fitness and demonstrating workouts. In addition to being on tv, she regularly writes workouts and fitness advice for many major magazines such as Muscle and Fitness Hers, Weight Watchers, Cosmo, Shape and many others.

Over the last few years Cari has been considered one of Houston’s top trainers. Her Bombshell Bootcamp was named “Houston’s Best Bootcamp” by Houstonia Magazine and she has been featured in the Houston Chronicle on the front page of the health section. In addition to teaching and training women each week at her Bootcamp, she also works with many former and current NBA dancers and NFL cheerleaders. She was even the official personal trainer for the Houston Rockets Power Dancers from 2009-2013! Cari loves all things fitness, especially running, and has run 6 marathons, (including 1 ultra marathon). She is a mom of 2 little kids and loves to travel and workout with her family.
