It’s Wardrobe Wednesday and since I’m on a clothing no-spend lock down, the next few weeks will be full of mix and match style. It’s going well so far with just one more month of maternity style posts! Some of you must be getting tired of these by now, since I know the majority of you aren’t expecting and might have a hard time relating to these big baby belly fashion posts! For you, I’ve included non-maternity options (this black & white striped long sleeve top is a dead ringer for the maternity version (probably one of my favorite maternity shirts I own) and the red v-neck tee is already non-maternity,View Post
I’ve been pregnant twice and was careful to burn all the maternity “fashion” from the first time around! Trust me, it wasn’t pretty! But, I learned a thing or two about how to dress that beautiful baby bump and actually loved being pregnant the second time! You can rock your pregnancy style and feel confident doing so all
9, 10 months!
Can I just say I love you guys?!?! You had me at, “Get the pillow!!” Even Christina said she feels like she needs a Snoogle after reading the comments and she’s not even pregnant!! Ha! I took your recommendations and ordered one and it should be here soon! I’m really looking forward to trying it because my sleep has been so bad lately! I’ll let you know how it works out. Thank you friends!
For this Friday’s Weekend Steals & Deals, I put together a couple affordable Valentine’s Day looks for day and night, but you know I’m wearing this dress to our V-day lunch next Friday!View Post
How do these days go so fast?! I had planned to publish my pregnancy exercise routine yesterday, but my son got sick so I lost a day home with him. But, in retrospect, we had more alone-time together, which I do appreciate. I’m reading In Praise of Slowness now and I think it helped me just relax and not worry about what I was missing getting done. Being a very action-oriented person, sometimes I struggle to slow down and just do one thing at a time. Working on this. For today, let’s talk Valentine’s Day! When it comes to that hallmark holiday,View Post
Hi guys! Thank you for allowing me to dump all of my third trimester pregnancy woes on you yesterday. I know feelings ebb and flow and the last part of pregnancy is really hard, but the result is always worth it in the end. Having you to relate to and just getting those feelings off my chest helped a ton and I do feel lighter (in spirit!) today. In my body, I still feel like I’m 54 weeks pregnant. I really appreciate your supportive comments, they mean the world to me. Even though we are separated by computer screens,View Post
I really feel like I need to do a bump update soon because this pregnancy has gone from “I feel great!” to “I’m getting so uncomfortable!” I know this was to be expected near the end when the baby is getting bigger and I’m thankful we’ve only got about 7 weeks to go. Tomorrow is her “Sprinkle” and I’m excited to celebrate her with my family and girlfriends. I’ve literally only bought a handful of things this pregnancy (so different from our first!), so it will be very sweet to receive some baby girl outfits and diapers!
Let’s just start with this in-your-face belly shot.View Post
It’s about time I put together a maternity-specific fashion post for you pregnant mamas out there! It’s been so fun hearing from you and knowing we are pregnant at the same time. Even if we’re not pregnant together, it still feels good to know all mamas are connected through our shared experiences of motherhood. I’m currently 32 weeks along and although it’s been pretty rosey and sunshiney up to this point, now I’m starting to feel all those unpleasant things that can come along in the last trimester. I’ll share more on this at my next pregnancy update in a few weeks,View Post
Do y’all have plans for New Year’s Eve? For so many years, during my college days, I waitressed and bartended and spent many a holiday weekend working. The time change where you “fall back” was the worst! Great for the partiers, terrible for those behind the bar! Sometimes I would request off so I could join my friends on NYE and we always had a crazy great time. But those were the young party days. Now, we make it a much lower key event, often skipping going out altogether for just staying in. Last year, we had an intimate dinner with two other couples out at a local restaurant and it was really fun to ring in the new year together.View Post
Good morning friends and Happy Weekend to you!! Can you believe it’s only this weekend and next until Christmas?! I definitely need to make this weekend a productive one and finish my shopping (and send the rest of our Christmas cards – #hangsheadinshame!). I have no excuse on the cards, we’ve had them for a long time, I just need to finish addressing them and get them in the mail! I LOVE receiving cards and we’ve got ours displayed on a wall of our kitchen with washi tape this year.
But, I did get the nursery decorated! Did you see it?!View Post
We’re through an actually very productive weekend (finally photographed our Christmas tree and can’t wait to show you tomorrow!) and got lots of little chores done around the house too. We’re even on the way to finishing our Christmas cards, although I still wish they’d already gone out. One quirky thing I did over the weekend was get eyelash extensions. Have you heard of that or tried it? It seems it’s pretty popular in Houston, judging by how quickly the appointments fill up. My mom wanted them for her birthday, so getting them together was a fun, (weird?) experiment.View Post
Did anyone else find it hard to get moving this week after the Thanksgiving break?! We sorta got our groove back by yesterday, but man, I am really ready for this weekend again! It always feels like December is a busy month with all the parties and planning, but I’m loving it! I’m planning on photographing more of our holiday decor over the weekend so I can share it with you next week. I’m going to add pink Christmas decor to the nursery just for fun in honor of the little girl on the way. I know I did the nursery in lavender,View Post
And just like that, we’re back to Friday! A week from now at this time, I’ll be heading to the annual Houston Nutcracker Market, which features holiday goodies of all time and officially kicks off the holiday season around here. I really want to shop early this year so that I can truly relax and unwind and just enjoy my family. This will be the last year I get to focus all my attention to my first-born and I’m so looking forward to our time together. Did you feel that way before having a second baby?

Is your week off to a good start? I wasn’t kidding on Friday when I said it would probably be a pajamas-all-day kind of weekend. We had nonstop rain which meant soccer game cancelled and I literally did not leave the house for two days! It was so nice! And even better with those “soft pants”. Did you pick up a pair? Definitely get some in time for this weekend (they’re 40% off with code ‘BOO’ today). They’ll be the thing you change right into as soon as you get home from work everyday,View Post
Thank you friends for following along on this pregnancy journey with me and letting me gush about being 20 weeks along now. We are so very thankful for this blessing in our lives, and judging by the way this little babe is tumbling around in my belly, its super excited too! I don’t remember James bouncing around this much, just kicking later on. It’s time to find out if we’ve got a little boy or little girl inside, but of course, we are just praying for a healthy baby! My belly is growing, growing although it seems to be hidden in some looser-fitting outfits.View Post
Hi friends! I’m heading back from a couple of fun-filled days in the big city and I always return from these types of blogging trips inspired and motivated to learn and grow individually and as a blogger. It’s good to shake things up every once in awhile and see things from a different perspective or point of view. Getting out of town, even for a few days, can do that for you. I’ll do a recap of the trip next week so you can see the behind the scenes of the Better Homes and Gardens Stylemaker event.

This weekend is the first one is awhile to come quick with the long weekend last week! I’m all for that, but we have a lot to do this weekend so I don’t think we’ll get much relaxing in, except for my Mom’s birthday that we get to celebrate this weekend. Happy happy birthday to the best woman I know! With everything we’ve been through, especially the last couple years, our family has grown even tighter. We love our Mom so much. Of course, today our hearts also go out to our country as we remember 9/11 and all the families touched by that tragic event.View Post
