Our home is our haven from the world, and there’s no place I’d rather be! It’s a good thing too, because since 2010, when we built this place, I’ve been pouring over all the design and decor details, making it the perfect cozy home for us. During the day you may see footballs flying through the air, toys strewn about the living room and beyond, and kitchen counters clutters with all.the.things! But that’s real life and what makes a home with kids! I’m happy to welcome you in to our HOME TOUR, and of course I cleaned up for you! ;)
Hi friend! I hope you had a wonderful weekend! Jordan and I spent the last week “Just the Gs” (girls) and it was so lovely to get all that alone time with her. ♥
We bonded with lots of conversation, coloring, reading, baking, going to Target, Chick-fil-A, the pool, and the bookstore and also playing with the friendly neighborhood cat that has started showing up at our front porch daily.
Jordan has become quite attached to and obsessed with “Mr. Handsome.” I will say he’s super cute and I’m very fond of him too. Except, I think he’s a she.
A big thank you to ShopStyle and Shutterfly for partnering with me on today’s post!
Hi friend! Now that Summer is nearly upon us, I’m so excited to share our backyard patio with you, along with very fun new al fresco dining collections from Shutterfly featuring Spoonflower artists! My kids get out of school this week, so cue the late nights, late mornings and routines that go out the window!
I’ve learned over the years to go with the flow and try not to lose my mind by the time summer is over!
Hi friend! I’m really excited to invite you into our new living room today! As you probably know, we moved into our new house about two months ago. In those eight weeks, we’ve started to settle into our home. It still very much has that ‘new house feel’, but we’re making it our own.
This home has an open floor plan that’s laid out in a lovely way. I like that the living room still feels nice and cozy, even though it opens up to the kitchen and dining room.
Hi friend! I’m so excited to welcome you into our new kitchen today! Tomorrow, we’ll have lived in this new house for exactly one month! My mom was remarking to me the other day how much we’ve done in the last two months and she’s right! No wonder I’m tired!
Our new house has an open floor plan and the kitchen is visible from the dining room and living room, basically tying the two spaces together. I remember when I first walked into the home during a Saturday open house.
Hi friend! I cannot believe how fast this is all happening. If you missed the news, I unexpectedly fell in love with a home and we moved yesterday! Talk about a long day! Did you catch the new home tour?
It’s been a whirlwind with the process of buying a new house while simultaneously getting my house ready to put on the market. I wanted to make sure it was show ready, so I deep cleaned, touched up paint, and started packing up to make our house look staged.
The goal is to make it pretty and inviting and like no one lived there.
Hi friend! Welcome to a brand new week! This week is gonna be so fun because I get to go our annual Nutcracker Market with my mom on Thursday. It’s a local holiday shopping event where hundreds of vendors gather in our convention center to share their holiday goodies- everything from decor, gifts, clothing, toys and food!
It’s always so much fun and I cherish that one-on-one time with my mama. It’s hard to get a grandma’s attention when the grandkids are around! We always kick off the day with mimosas and it’s a lot of fun.
Hi friend! I hope your week is off to a great start! I’m so excited to share my 11 year-old son’s bedroom makeover with you today! The post was going to be titled “Tween Boy’s Bedroom Makeover” but he wasn’t fond of the word “Tween.” 😉
I have to admit, I was really smitten with James’ old bedroom, especially the wallpaper and blue trim, but he was ready for a change. We’ve been toying with the idea of him moving into the ‘media room’ for months, and a few weeks ago, on a whim, we finally did it!
Hi friends! I hope your week is off to a great start! I spent the morning putting the finishing touches on the succulent DIY project for my dining room and making a grocery store flower arrangement so that the dining room would be ready for her close up!
I’m so excited to share the final result, it’s so light and bright and airy and I’m thrilled with how it turned out!
Hello friends! How was your weekend? Ours was good. Slow, but good. I got lots of cleaning and laundry done, made another chocolate chip banana bread, had a big spaghetti dinner on Sunday, and just chilled in the backyard. I’m so very thankful for my home, especially now that we are here 24/7.
Hello friends! I hope your week is off to a great start! Since the kids didn’t have school yesterday, we ran some errands, had a friend over, and picked out some surprise balloons for Jordan’s birthday today! I literally cannot believe this girl is four years old. I feel like she’s growing up before my very eyes and it’s going so, so fast!
Today, we’ll take #4 cookies to her classroom and then have a small celebration at home with a homemade cake.
I’m also excited to share Jordan’s playroom with you today.
Thank you to Shopstyle and Macy’s for sponsoring today’s post.
Hi friends! I hope your week is going really well! Today’s post is all about a mini bathroom update, just in time for Summer! The bathroom is the first room I enter when I wake up and the last room I see before bed, so I like to it be a place that looks nice and functions well.
I recently bought some new bath towels at a discount retailer to save money, but then was so disappointed when they fell apart about a month later.
Welcome to a new week friends! I hope you had a fantastic weekend! I had planned to do another Amazon fashion try-on post Friday, but with Jordan being sick and my eye troubles, I didn’t get to it. Being able to work from home, especially with young kids, is such a blessing that I never take for granted.
Of course, I have plans and things to do, but when kids get sick (or Mom), we have to let go of our plans and adjust our priorities. I’m so thankful I can do that! It was a busy week anyway with December Loves,
Good morning friends! Thank you so, so much for the love on our updated master bedroom yesterday! I’m absolutely crazy for how it turned out and so happy to finally invite you in. Today, we’re continuing the bedroom tour with updates we made to our master bedroom sitting area.
OUR MASTER BEDROOM SITTING AREA UPDATE
Before we built our home 9 years ago, we toured several model homes to get ideas for the floor plan in our house. One feature that stood out to me was the ‘sitting area’ – a little nook off the master bedroom for just lounging or watching tv in a cozy space.
Good morning friends! I hope you’re having a great week! I’m still working on getting my groove back and feeling so much better now that I’m concentrating on healthy eating, drinking lots of water and exercising daily! It’s amazing how quickly our body responds to those things, but it’s a determined effort to make them happen everyday.
I’m sooo excited for today’s post and couldn’t wait to share it with you! We’ve been working on transforming our previously neutral bedroom into a more feminine and sophisticated space and I’m absolutely in love with how it turned out!
Hello friends! How was your weekend? Ours was filled with spoiling our sweet son and celebrating his 8th birthday! I swear I could not love him more and everyday with James is truly delightful. He wanted a simple football party at the park with all the boys he plays football with at recess, so it was fun surprising him with this big yard sign!
I was lucky to snag a pic with the birthday boy. At this age, it’s hard to get him to get in a picture!
Well hello friends! I’ve been wanting to give you an updated closet tour for some time now and today is finally the day! I’ve made a few changes to the way I organize things and I’ve also been purging some of the contents so that I’m left with only things I actually use and wear! It feels great to have a closet where everything has a place and everything is neatly organized. I can’t wait to show you around! I hope this gives you some ideas for how to keep your own closet organized!
