Hello Friday and a special shout out to Cinco de Mayo!! #ayeayeayeeeeee!!!! We’re having a causal block party, potluck style with plenty of margaritas. It’s one way to socialize with adults and the kids without having to call in a babysitter! Will be really fun and I need it! Man, it’s been a busy week with my May goal of trying to wake up at 5am (this first week pretty much sucked, but it’s getting better), sharing Jordan’s one year recap (she is so curious and energetic, and growing right before my eyes!), my microblading results (I was so.freaked.out at first, but now I love them), and a fun Mother’s Day Gift Guide (one of each, please!).
Today, I have a Wear to Work post for ya, with my very favorite Black Crop Skinny Jeans(under $60)!. You’ve seen those before on a date night and when I came home from my girls’ weekend. The jeans and super comfortable and so slimming! They have a raw edge hem that look good down or rolled and they weren’t too long on me (even though they are supposed to be crop)!!! I wear them both cuffed and down and the down is probably even more work friendly. I sized down one to a 24 and they are a perfectly comfortable fit.
Cardis were a wardrobe staple for me when I worked in an office because they instantly elevated a tank, cami or tee style top and were also functional because they keep you warm in a chilly office. I also love the pop of color or pattern they add.
This particular cardi is a winner because it comes in a million colors and patterns at a good price and it comes in regular and petite.
Ever since I got these earrings (this similar pair are 40% off) and this necklace at a blog conference 4 years ago, I’ve been obsessed with the gorgeous and simple style that is Gorjana jewelry. I finally updated my treasured collection with a few new pieces, and I’m totally smitten. I got this fan necklace, this coil ring and this adjustable necklace that I’m wearing here.
The necklace is so cool because you can wear it in several different ways, and you can easily adjust the beads so that the necklace can be worn specifically to compliment your outfit.
I wanted to show you how comfy these jeans are for sitting at your desk, so I popped a squat. They’ve got a lot of stretch (which is probably why I could size down one), but don’t feel like they get baggy during the day. They keep their shape.
If your office is particularly conservative, these skinny style jeans may not work, because they hug your curves.
If your workday takes to do happy hour afterwards, you can lose the cardi and have a “weekend” or “date night” look! You could switch out the classic pumps for strappy heels too.
I think this look is already calling for that margarita!
