Even as a work-from-home mom, I make an effort to get myself ready and put on something cute for the day! It not only makes me more productive, it helps me feel better about myself! I’m often mixing and matching things from my closet or wearing jean shorts on repeat during the summer, but every month I do a round-up of what I wore, my Outfits Lately, in an effort to provide you some wardrobe inspiration of your own.
Hi friend! Like you, I’ve been so saddened and sickened by the tragedy in Uvalde. And as sad and angry as I am, it’s no match for what the families are going through right now. I can’t stop thinking about that and the children. The precious children.
I know many of you come here for a respite from the heaviness of the world and I thank you for that. I promise to honor my commitment to keep things positive around here- it’s actually my respite too.
I do want to let you know that I shared some ways we can use our voice and energy to help affect change.
Hi friend! Yay for Friday! We celebrated my friend Tarah’s (also my realtor:) birthday last night with such a fun surprise party. Ali-Shaun and friends arranged to have a private chef come to Marianna’s house and cook for us. I was so surprised when I walked in and saw how beautifully Ali-Shaun had arranged it all.
She’s so good at that kind of thing and it was such a treat for all of us! The weather couldn’t have been better and Marianna’s backyard was the perfect entertaining spot. We all pitched in to cover the cost and always do one big group gift.
Hi friends! How was your weekend? Mine was so good! I got to take advantage of a rare weekend alone and I absolutely loved it! I’ve come to really embrace those rare opportunities to be by myself. I worked out, popped in Hobby Lobby & Michaels, read, and took a nap!
Then, on Saturday night, I undertook a project I’ve been putting off for YEARS! I condensed 4 old photo albums and a box of random photos into one photo album. I grabbed all those albums and photos and piled them on the living room floor, put on some mindless Netflix show (love is blind??),
Hi friends! YAY for Friday!! Not that I have any big plans, I’m just really looking forward to the weekend!
Neither of my kids are playing sports this season, so our weekends are wide open, which is kinda nice for a change. This happens to be one weekend with nothing on the agenda, and I love those! What’s on the agenda for you?
YOUR FAVES THIS WEEK
I love seeing what y’all love and here are your faves this week!
Hi friends! Thank y’all SO much for all the love on the Style Tips post! Since you found it helpful, I’ll make sure to do another one soon. I really pay attention to your feedback, so thanks for taking the time to comment!
Today is a fresh new week and the last week of our 30-day fitness challenge! Whether you joined or not, all my blog subscribers can access the free printables, which includes meal plans, workouts and fitness trackers. Sign up here if you’re not already subscribed!
Hello friends and happy Friday! I swear I’m losing track of what day it is! You too? My kids go back to school on Tuesday, so we still have another four days of winter break. Then, since our school closed a week early, we had to vote whether we wanted to add an extra 20 minutes everyday until the end of the year, or an additional three days at the end of the school year. We voted three more days, so we’ll see!
This weekend I’m planning to get the pantry all finished to show you next week.
Hello friends! I hope you had a joyous Christmas yesterday! I was up super late on Christmas Eve because James was too excited to sleep. I think he finally fell asleep around midnight after I lay down with him. Then Jordan woke up at 5am! I kept her in bed with me until James woke up at 6 am, but the sheer excitement and joy of the morning made it all worth it. You can see a bit of it on my Stories. It really melted my heart.
We had a really wonderful morning together and I want to share more of that with you tomorrow after I have a chance to download my pics and get my thoughts together.
October 1, it’s a new day and a new month! Many times during this last year I had thought about the day I’d be finally able to share what’s been going on, but I didn’t really know what it would look like or how it would feel. Knowing you guys, I was confident you would understand, but I wasn’t prepared for such a strong showing of compassion and support. ♥
So many of you have walked this road and have the battle wounds to show for it. But, you’ve also come out wiser and stronger and better for it.
Hello friends! Happy Friday!! Who else is ready for the weekend?! We have a baseball game and two birthday parties on the agenda, and celebrating my mom’s birthday! Even though Grandma isn’t here Monday – Thursday anymore since Jordan started preschool, I still talk to her everyday, often more than that! #gottalovemom
I have to offer a tremendous THANK YOU for the love and support on yesterday’s Lawyer to Blogger – Part 2 post. It’s been cathartic for me to share this journey with you and give you some insight on how we got here.
Hi friends! Did you have a great weekend? Ours was probably the hottest weekend of the year so far with temps getting close to 100! We kept it pretty low key, but did catch an Astros game yesterday. Thankfully, the air was cranked and it felt nice inside.
Now we’re onto a fresh week and I’m knee deep in my Nordstrom Anniversary Sale prep! It’s always a beast of a sale with so.many.things and I want to make sure I show y’all the best of the best. Specifically, the things you’ll really want to spend your money on and things you’ll get lots of use out of all Fall and Winter long.
Hey friends and Happy Friday! It’s been a really good week over here. James’ camp is going awesome and the friends love carpooling together. We’ve also gone out to dinner, been to the splash pad a million times, an Astros game, had a friend sleep over, been to Grandma’s house, and yesterday Candytopia. Sounds like a good summer to me! And also like I need a nap! 😉
Good morning Monday friends! I hope you are enjoying a long weekend with your loved ones. We’ll be heading back from Lost Pines today, and then chilling at home for the rest of the day, getting back to life for that last week of school. Finally!
Today’s post is a full of lots of outfit inspiration with everything from shorts to dresses to swimsuits. I haven’t done one of these posts in awhile, so it’s a looong one! I’m also rounding up the Memorial Day sales- there are some good ones, so I think I’ll be shopping online alongside you!
Good Monday morning friends! I hope y’all had a great weekend! I used the weekend to rest and recharge and sleep in! and so I’m feeling really good today! I’m back to waking up at 5am during the week, so getting to sleep even until 7am feels dreamy!
OUTFITS LATELY
Today I’m rounding up a month’s worth of outfits, full of everything from jeans to shorts to dresses and jumpsuits. Even a couple swimsuits and coverups!
Our weather is starting to heat up- it got into the 80s last week, took a dip yesterday and today,
Hi friends! Happy Monday! I hope you had a great weekend! We had another jam packed one with birthday party, baseball and basketball and Jordan’s preschool assessment. Cue big fat mama tears! She’ll be starting pre-K3 in the Fall and I cannot believe it’s almost here already. Originally, I was thinking she might not start school until pre-K4, but this girl will be ready by August! Mama’s not, but she is. I’m proud of how bright she is, I just wish time would slow down a little!
She was so very proud to wear the uniform Ali-Shaun’s daughter passed down to her!
Welcome to the weekend! I might be moving a little slow today with our Favorite Things party last night! I swear, I’m so lucky to have such an awesome group of friends who make me laugh ’til I cry! Those nights are just the best! I’ll do a detailed recap next week with what everyone brought, but in the meantime, you can check out last year’s Fave Things party and how we do it and the hilarious Stories!
Good morning Friday! Every Friday feels so good because that is when I try to take the afternoons to do something fun with my Mom and Jordan, and today we are planning to do some Fall decor shopping at Hobby Lobby. If that doesn’t get us in the Fall mood, I don’t know what will! I’ve also been trying to dress for fall while it’s still warm out so I wanted to share a round up of summer to fall outfit ideas.
I’m also still on a high from last night’s Project OneWay. The show was so fun and even though I was so nervous/excited beforehand #jitters!,
Happy Friday friends! It’s a bittersweet weekend over here as we prepare to send James back to school on Monday! He’ll be going into third grade and that suddenly seems so old! At this age, he’s a fascinating mix of maturity and innocence, with a good bit of sweetness still there. Since he was a baby, I’ve loved every age and 8 is no different.
Woo hoo friends!! Happy Friday! I’m always so excited for the weekend and especially this one because we’re celebrating one of my very best friend’s 50th birthday! We’ve been friends for about 20 years! It’s wild to say that!! I guess that means I’m getting old too! 🙂
