What Rhonda & I Bought at the Sephora Sale

Hi friend! I hope you are having a fabulous week!  I’ve been in New York since Monday for an Amazon Livestream creator event and it’s been a great trip.  I’ve especially loved getting to meet and have face-to-face time with other women in my industry.  There’s no substitute for that in-person girl time.

Last night, we were treated to a beautiful dinner at Blackbarn Restaurant and this morning I’ll be streaming live from the Amazon headquarters at 9am CT.   I would love it if you would join me and say hi in the chat!

You can always watch it later here, if you miss the original air time.

What Rhonda & I Bought at the Sephora Sale

Today, I’m sharing the beauty products Rhonda and I scored at the recent Sephora sale.

We both found new things to try and it’s cool to see the different things we each chose and our initial thoughts on those products.

WHAT I BOUGHT

I shared my original Sephora picks here and those are items I count as tried and true faves that I order on repeat.  The beauty items below are new finds that I’m really enjoying.

5Sol De Janeiro Body Cream- Rio Radiance

Gimme all the things by Sol De Janeiro!  I’m crazy for the delicious, sexy scent all of their products have in common.  This Rio Radiance body cream in new to me and I’m loving deep moisture it provides the light scent.  It smells more floral than the other Sol De Janeiro body creams I’ve used, but it’s still wonderful!

8NARS Liquid Blush – Orgasm

Y’all, I’ve never used a liquid blush like this and it’s so good!  It’s definitely different because it’s a true liquid and you simply dot it along your cheeks and rub it in for a very pretty, youthful blush.  A little goes a long way!

To use, simply pull the cap off and then you’ll see a little pump that will dispense just the right amount!

10Summer Fridays Lip Butter Balm – Vanilla

This lip butter balm feels so good on your lips.  It has a lovely large, slanted applicator that helps the product go on perfectly.  I’m going to buy the Pink Sugar color next.

13Yummy Skin Blurring Balm

I was influenced to buy this cream foundation by my friend and beauty vlogger, Lisa.  She’s a former MAC makeup artist trainer and the founder of BK Beauty.  The cool thing about this foundation is the consistency and how lightweight it feels on.  It basically feels like I’m wearing nothing and that’s how I like my foundation to feel when I wear it.

Shade 3 and 4 are quite a bit different, so I bought both and use them interchangeably, depending on if I have a spray tan or not.  The foundation is great at blurring pores, making the skin look more smooth. It also controls shine and keeps my face looking more matte throughout the day.

The ingredient upsalite supports and absorbs excess sebum and sweat, while maintaining the skin’s hydration.  So, if your skin is oily, I recommend it.  But, if you prefer your foundation with more luminosity, you may not like this one.

14 • KVD Beauty Contour Shade Palette

This palette is BIG and comes with three highlight shades and three contour shades.  I’ve been using it on my contour places AND on my eyes as eye shadow. It’s nice to be able to use one palette for both.

WHAT RHONDA BOUGHT

1 • Haus Labs Gel Powder Highlighter

This brand is by Lady GaGa and has the prettiest shimmer to it. I add a touch of this to my cheeks after I’ve done my blush just to highlight the brow. It comes in several colors, but I  loved the bright pink.

2 • Eye Tint by Armani

Another go-to favorite of mine. You will find me using this most days. Simply brush a little of the formula on your eyelid and use your finger to smooth out over entire lid. Gives a hint of color and shimmer.

My favorite color is Cold Copper, but I wanted to try the more matte finish to see if she would like that look too. Cold Copper still wins, but the matte is good for a more muted look.

3 & 4 • Bondi Boost Shampoo & Conditioner

I have fine hair so I’m particular about the shampoo I use. I can’t have anything weighing it down. I wanted to try this Bondi Boost brand as its known for creating volume for those with fine hair.  I’ve been using this for a week and my takeaway is this: I love the way it works but will only use it every couple days. The formula is thicker and very moisturizing, so using more than three times in a row is too much for me. In between those washes, I stick with my go-to Shampoo and Conditioner by Colleen Rothschild.

6 • Clinique Lower Lash Mascara

I naturally have long eye lashes.  Such a blessing but, that being said I always have trouble with the mascara rubbing off on my under eyes. I started using this lower lash mascara by Clinique and haven’t looked back. The formula is waterproof to help with smudges and comes with the tiniest little brush head to make application super easy on those tiny lower lashes. No more mascara smudges!

11 • Merit Bronze Balm

Merit is great for those of us with more mature skin. It’s a very hydrating formula that glides on smooth. I use this right after I apply my tinted sunscreen to frame my face. Adds a little to my cheekbone, top corners of forehead and right along the jaw line. Then I use a foundation brush to blend into skin. Gives a warm glow to your face.

7 • Merit Flush Balm Cream Blush

I’ve also been using this cream blush by Merit.  It blends nicely with the bronze balm for a hint of color right at the cheeks.  A little goes a long way. Merit is a new to me brand, but I am loving it so far.

9 • Fenty Mascara

Aren’t we always on the hunt for the next best mascara?! I wanted to try out this Fenty mascara by Rhianna. The color is great and the formula is thick. I’m loving how it’s been working so far. Makes your lashes look super thick and full. Not at all clumpy, which I can’t stand. I’ve been using for a week and really love it.

12 • Patrick Ta Eyeshadow Palette

Have you guys ever heard of this brand? This palette is a bit pricey but I bought it this past Sephora Sale. My takeaway is that it is super pigmented so a little goes a long way and I love the color palette and feel it would work for most skin tones. I also love that two of the colors are more of a cream blush so she can use a tiny angled brush to create an eye liner.

I am one of those people that never uses eyeliner. I always use an eyeshadow to create a line with a damp brush. I feel like I have more control over that than a pencil. Plus, I can create a thin line. That is so hard for me to do accomplish with a regular eyeliner.

I’m so intrigued by Rhonda’s picks and I’m adding that Clinique Lower Lash Mascara to my cart STAT! Did you find anything that you want to try?

Have a fantastic day friend!

  1. Hi Megan,

I am really replying to you Instagram video (when you were eating the tiramisu! which I loved seeing)
where you talked about making peace with not being able to “do it all”. And I loved it. I have been
following you since James was about 2 and I adore your style and since I am also petite I always get
outfit inspo from you. I am also a working mom, but now my kids are almost out of college. But I
know the pressure of trying to do it all – and I still feel it even now. So it just warmed my heart to
hear someone who is successful say it too. My lunch break is over, but just had to share.
    And that you are amazing!!
