Binge Watch For Less During the Holidays

Hi friend! I can’t believe we only have a little over a week until school is out for Christmas break.  Do we have any big plans? Nope!

I’ve learned over the years not to get too busy scheduling things, they tend not to happen anyway.  We’ll probably just play it by ear and spend lots of cozy days at home.

My son loves having friends over or visiting at their house and Jordan is my little shadow that loves baking, bottle flipping/dice stacking and basketball.

When James does have his friends over, they love to watch all their favorite sports through our SlingTV – a live tv streaming service.

It’s the least expensive streaming service to watch news and different channels.  Since we cancelled our cable, it’s a great affordable option so we still get to watch our favorite shows.

The boys love watching the sports channels, especially the Longhorn Network and ESPN.

Jordan’s favorite show is Bluey, and it’s okay if I could only skip the intro song;)

My favorite, especially during the holidays is the Holiday Baking Championship! I binge watch that show!  And, my friends and family have been telling me I need to watch Yellowstone, so I’m starting that now.

You might be new to SlingTV, so I’m including some helpful info for you here!

WHAT IS SLINGTV?

SlingTV is the first app-based TV service that lets you stream live tv over the internet.

You can watch live shows from anywhere, even on the go.  And the best part, it’s the least expensive streaming service to watch news and different channels.

The plans range start out at $35 – $55 a month, with no long term contract.  You also don’t need any equipment since the service streams over the internet.

CAN YOU WATCH LOCAL CHANNELS ON SLING TV?

Yes! Unlike other providers, SlingTV doesn’t make you pay for local channels.  Your local news, sports and more are FREE when you pair your Sling subscription with an HD antenna.

And if you like to watch the news, you can steam Generic News, Fox News, and CNN & MSNBC News.

CAN YOU WATCH SHOWS ON DEMAND?

Yes! SlingTV offers on-demand content on many of their channels.  The content and length of time available varies by channel.

WHAT IF I WANT TO CANCEL?

If you want to pause or cancel your subscription, you can do so at any time.

It’s super easy to sign up and you get half off your first month!

And, of course, watching shows on Sling TV is even better with my sweet little companion.  I swear he doesn’t leave my side and I’m not mad about it!

So tell me, what are your favorite shows to binge watch, especially during the holidays?! Let your answer in the comment section so we can all get some recommendations!

Have a fantastic day friend!

  1. I love Yellowstone!!! Seasons 1-3 were better than 4, in my opinion. Season 5 is on Paramount Network right now. If you like Yellowstone, then you HAVE to watch 1883!!! It’s only on Paramount+, so unfortunately another streaming service to pay for, but it’s worth it! The newest Yellowstone spin-off, 1923, is starting on December 17!

  2. Megan, I love your holiday decor, simple yet very warm, inviting and cozy! Hope you and your two little loves (Jordan and James) have a safe, healthy and happy Merry Christmas holiday!

  4. well I must to say that I never had cable and I lived well, I still haven’t but I use Amazon Prime Video, but you proved that is possible have a nice tv shows also without cable but with different service on a budget!!!

  5. Thanks, Megan. I’m late to the game, but want to cut the cord too. Did you purchase your own HD antennae or get the 1 offered by Sling? Have you encountered any problems? The number of antennae choices offered on Amazon is overwhelming. Also, may I ask how many Mbps of internet do you think are needed? Thank you for the tips!
