Mix & Match Fall Style

Hi friend! Yay for Friday! I’m so looking forward to a relaxing weekend at home.

I did take the first step and went on a lunch date this week.  It went really well and I was so relieved to feel good about it!  He’s a real cutie, but who knows where it will go from here.  I’m just so thankful for all of your support and encouragement since my long term relationship ended a couple of months ago.

It’s difficult to put ourselves out there and be vulnerable and brave meeting new people.  I know many of you are in this situation – single, divorced, or out of a relationship.  I’m rooting for you and in it with you!

It was a fun week on the blog, if you missed it I shared Walmart Fall Decor & FashionTarget Decor & Fashion, New Goodies, and Amazon Live Fall Decor & Amazon Fall Fashion.

MIX & MATCH FALL STYLE

I’m so excited for today’s Fall fashion post!  I found so many darling pieces at Loft and all of them have tons of styling options.   I went ahead and did some mixing and matching for you so you could get inspiration and ideas for your own wardrobe.

My Size Reference: I’m short (5’1) and petite, weighing about 110 lbs.  I typically wear size 0p/25 jeans, XSP/XS in tops and dresses.

Jewelry Worn:  Watch Band, Star Necklace, Bracelets, Rings

FALL JEANS OUTFITS

Striped V Neck Top, Jeans, Mules LOFT

 TopJeansJeans (Petite)Mules

I find myself reaching more and more for a straight leg jean over a skinny style.  They are just so comfortable and easy to wear.  This pair is a casual crop length in a medium blue wash, without any rips or distressing.  If your office has a casual Friday policy where jeans are allowed, this is a style that would be appropriate.

The top is a super soft pullover with a sporty vibe.  I like the soft deep blue color and contrasting v-neck and cuffs.

This sweater caught my eye as soon as I saw it! The large abstract florals are so unique and the mix of red, pink, peach and grey is really pretty.

I can’t wait for our weather to be cool enough to wear this exact outfit.  This sweater has a fun geometric stitch pattern throughout and a classic, relaxed fit.

Split Neck Floral Top, Jeans, Heels

TopJeansJeans (Petite)Heels

For a dressier look, you could pair the jeans with a blouse and this one is perfect for Fall.  The jewel tones and leafy floral patterns are definitely appropriate for this time of year.  The top has a double front tie and 3/4 length sleeves.  It’s also machine washable, but I’d hang it to dry.

Ooh, I adore this soft knit pullover.  It’s a lovely shade of pink, leaning toward plum with slightly puffed sleeves and a ribbed knit texture.  It also comes in black and camel.

Another winning pullover sweater that can be dressed up or down.  The stripes are fun and the button front has a scallop edge detail that’s really cute. It also feels nice and soft on.

For all my neutral lovers, you’ll want this sweater!  It’s a pale tan and white stripe with a v-neck and functional buttons down the front.

Floral Tee, Jeans, Mules

TeeJeansMules

I found your perfect Fall tee with all those rich Autumn colors and floral pattern.  The tee is on the fitted side, so I’d recommend sizing up one if you’re in between sizes or want to wear it more relaxed.

Sweater Cardigan, Jeans, Booties

This ribbed v-neck cardigan can be worn all buttoned up like a sweater or undone with a cami underneath.  I’m partial to this soft white color, but it also comes in a vibrant teal.

Puff Sleeve Fleck Sweater, Jeans, Booties

SweaterJeansBooties

I’m crazy for this cable knit sweater!  It’s a mix of traditional cable knit body with diamond stitched detail and bobble knitsleeves. It’s a creamy neutral with flecks throughout for added interest.  I really like the fit, how the sleeves have a little more volume.

Would it even be Fall without a plaid button down top?! I like how you can dress this top up by buttoning it up and tucking it in, or wear it casually undone with a cami underneath. It would also look great under a vest, the collar peeking out from under a sweater or with a cardian.

FALL SKIRTS

Here’s where we can have more fun styling the tops above with different skirts.  You can also wear the tops with pants you already own for work.

Floral Sweater, Suede Skirt, Boots

SweaterSkirtBoots

You can get a lot of mileage out of a faux suede skirt like this.  It’s easy to wear and the neutral color goes with everything, plus it’s lined and super soft.  The best part? You can machine wash it!

Ooh, this plaid tweed skirt sure is fun with the mix of pink, green, gold and black! If only it were red, gold and green it could be a Culture Club song!  It zips on the side and is fully lined.  My mind is blown because it’s also machine washable!  You can definitely have fun mixing and matching this one, picking up any of the colors in the skirt.

And this floral midi skirt is perfect for right now because it’s lightweight and not too heavy.  It’s hard to tell from the photo, but there are small decorative buttons down the front and a small front slit.  The waist is a stretchy elastic. You could pair the creamy sweaters with the skirt and add booties too.

PANTS OUTFIT

Plaid Top, Leather Pants, Black Heels

TopPantsHeels

I was very intrigued with these faux leather pants.  They have a slim, tapered leg, fitted at the hip and thigh with a high waist.  They’re lined with a soft lining and fit TTS.  When I ordered them, they didn’t have my true size, so I went up a size, but I’d prefer my true size.

And guess what, these are machine washable too.  Also come in a pretty warm “sundried adobe” color.

This petite floral shirtdress is an easy option for work, church, or brunch.  It’s a soft, thin knit with functional buttons down the front and a tiered skirt.  The sleeves button, but I cuffed them for a more casual look.

Or dress it up for work with the best selling Gibson blazer.  This blazer is super versatile, being suitable for the office since it has a polished shape, but it’s made of a comfortable, soft knit that easily works for the weekend.  I have it in three colors.

  1. I love to see you so excited. Even if this doesn’t go anywhere this great date gives you a promise that good things are out there!! But, take it as it goes and enjoy it! Who knows! This could be your perfect match!! I’ve been in your shoes. And after several one and done dates I was ready to just give up. I thought my life could be so much less complicated without a man in it (and I was very happy on my own). But my girlfriends convinced me to go on one more date. This was a man who contacted me on Match. He was out of the “age range” I normally looked at but he was nice and he didn’t make a pest of himself. LOL (You know how some do that,,,). So, I agreed to dinner and told my friends this was my last first date. And guess what? That was 8 years ago. We’ve been married for six and a half. It can happen! ❤️🍀

  2. WHAT? How did I miss that news regarding you and Brian? The link takes the reader back to your divorce. Should’t it take the reader back to the ending of the long term relationship?
