My New Office Tour

Hi friend!  I hope you had a wonderful weekend! Jordan and I spent the last week “Just the Gs” (girls) and it was so lovely to get all that alone time with her. ♥

We bonded with lots of conversation, coloring, reading, baking, going to Target, Chick-fil-A, the pool, and the bookstore and also playing with the friendly neighborhood cat that has started showing up at our front porch daily.

Jordan has become quite attached to and obsessed with “Mr. Handsome.”  I will say he’s super cute and I’m very fond of him too.  Except, I think he’s a she.

We’re taking him/her to the vet today to make sure he’s spayed/neutered/healthy and if he belongs to anyone.  Everyone I talked to in the neighborhood just says he’s a friendly stray.  He seems to want to come inside the house, so after the vet, we’ll see about that.  It’s so hot here, I can imagine the AC would feel good.

James also had a great time with his dad exploring Washington D.C. and Philadelphia and everything in between.  I’m so glad I got lots of daily pics and phone time while he was away, but we missed him!

HOME OFFICE TOUR

Today, I’m so happy to be bringing you inside my new home office!  If you’re new here or catching up,we moved into this new home in early March, so it hasn’t been that long.  Sometimes I still feel like I’m visiting, and I wake up everyday so thankful to get to call this our home!

We lived in our old house for over 10 years and it’s gone to a darling family that I’ve kept in touch with.

One of the first things that took my breath away when touring my new home was the large, upstairs space with tall, vaulted shiplap ceilings.  And it has the most gorgeous chandelier!  There are three huge windows overlooking the front yard and three smaller windows lending to all that bright, natural light.

Talk about a dream office space!  I work from home and spend countless hours here with my friend/marketing manager, Rhonda, so having a big room like this to work from is absolutely dreamy!

The wall color is Sherwin Williams Alabaster (flat) and the trim is Sherwin Williams Pure White (satin).

And here it is now.

The first thing I did was move my marble breakfast table into the room.  I really love that table and am so happy it fits well in here!  I got it at Restoration Hardware and it’s held up perfectly over the many years I’ve had it.  It makes a great focal point and sturdy work space here.

The table sits on the rug that was in my old office, and the colors in it are so pretty!  It’s also nice and soft underfoot.

These gold bookcases flank the chest that holds most of my office supplies.  I keep the styling pretty minimal, but also functional.  There’s stationary and gift wrapping things like ribbon in those fabric boxes and planning supplies in the acrylic organizer.

That large wooden tray is my “Sunday Basket” and contains all the loose papers, reminders, and to-do’s that pile up during the week.  It’s a visual reminder of things I need to take care of and I try to carve out a chunk of time on a Sunday to tie up all those loose ends.  It feels great to head into a new week with all those things already accomplished!

I have all the unsightly cords corralled in that small woven basket.  And the wooden box holds my necessary paper files.  I try to keep most things organized digitally, but sometimes there are paper receipts, records or other documents I have physical copies of.

Rattan Boxes

I’ve kept the color palette a soothing mix of pale pinks and use books to incorporate that color on the bookshelves.

Desk Mat

This is where I spend the majority of my time, working away on my computer.  I love this big, sleek desk and got one very similar for Rhonda.

Now, when I look out my window, I see my gorgeous magnolia tree!  And I even love how the windows are framed.

Rhonda sits at the desk next to mine and helps with so many things.

From unboxing, steaming, creating our database of products, linking posts, assisting with collaborations, taking photos, corresponding with brands, editing our newsletter, producing Amazon Livestreams and so much more, she’s a Godsend!

Acrylic Calendar

This acrylic calendar keeps us on the same page with our calendar of blog posts and any upcoming partnerships. I love the minimal look and have two, so we can see our current month and what’s coming up next.

Not only is she my right hand gal, she’s also incredibly fun and one of my closest friends.

It’s awesome to get to work with someone you get along so well with!  We also have a dear friend, Melissa, that works with us virtually since she doesn’t live in town.  It’s honestly my Dream Team! ♥

And this is honestly my dream office.  I’m so thankful for this bright, airy space and I look forward to working here everyday!

  3. Always a great post Megan! I was wondering if you could please post the books that I believe are in your living room? I zoomed in on your beautiful new office space at the books you have in there. I ordered the Minimalista
book and just got it today. I know I should have wrote them down when I saw all the books in your post . I hope you’ll show them again so I can order them.
    Thank you!

  4. I love the rug and would like to order the same one for my office but the rug in the link looks so much darker. Is it just much lighter in real life?
