What I Bought & How I Styled It (Target Home Decor)

Hi friend!  How’s your week going?  It’s surreal to be in Summer Break (hello, June!) and it sure seems like routines go out the window fast!  I’m a creature of habit and when my familiar routines are disrupted, I feel all out of whack.  Is that you too, or do you relish the spontaneity?

My daughter and I made a Target run the other day and I found several cute home decor items that came home with us.

I’m definitely finding my groove with how I like things to look in my home and I’ve embraced the fact that neutrals are what makes me happy.  I gravitate towards spaces that look uncluttered, yet still collected and homey.  It’s a balancing act, but when you get it right, your home becomes more ‘you’.

Today I’m sharing the pieces I bought, what drew me to them, and how I styled them in our home!  I hope you enjoy this type of post, let me know in the comments!

WHAT I BOUGHT & HOW I STYLED IT (TARGET HOME DECOR)

HOME OFFICE

Studio McGee Planter – This planter looks as if it’s been aged outdoors for years and is a great price when you buy it online.  The little handles also add character.

Indoor Plant Pot, Console table, books

I like plants that I can’t kill and this ‘closet’ variety is practically foolproof.  I’m sure this cute potted plant would look good in any room of the house, but it’s currently giving life to my office. I styled it beside some books in a pretty pink color palette that vibe well with the colors in the abstract art from Minted.

Desk Organizer – I like to keep my workspace minimal, but sometimes it’s nice to have things within arms reach on display. This desk organizer is sleek with three slots and a bamboo front that warms it up and keeps it from looking too sterile.

One of the ways I enjoy planning my day is with stickers and decorative notes.  Now, all my pretties are contained within this pretty and practical desk organizer.

KITCHEN

Magnolia Watering Can – This little brass watering can packs a lot of style into a small piece. And it’s only $15!

I styled it on the open shelving in our kitchen and like how the pop of brass adds a bit of bling to the otherwise natural and neutral decor elements.

Marble Stand – I feel like I’ve been eyeing this marble stand forever, seeing it often on Instagram. It’s a sturdy marble serving stand that makes a great display unit.

Tray Stand, Jars, Mug, Faux Plant

I’ve currently set this tray next to our coffee maker as a way to beautifully corral those coffee essentials like beans, my ember cup, and little ceramic bowls that I reach for often.

Studio McGee Woven Basket – This basket is so cool because it has sturdy handles and a rectangular shape, making it perfect for holding lots of things.

Bar Cart

When I was at the store, I was thinking I’d put it on my bottom stair as a bin to corral all the things that need to go upstairs.  Then, I had the idea to fill in the empty space in our bar cart with it.  Now, it holds our outdoor plates.  And I’ve since taken the tag off! 😉

Floral Jar Candle – It’s true that a candle offers both ambiance and fragrance, and it’s even better when it’s housed in a cute jar with a decorative label.

Trivet, Plant Mister, Candel, Matchstick holder

I feel better about my life when the kitchen is clean and a fresh candle is burning on the countertop.  Such a simple pleasure in life.  And the candle looks lovely grouped with other cute things sitting on top of a wooden tray.

LIVING ROOM

Studio McGee Linen Tray – I actually purchased this linen tray awhile ago and it’s beautiful in person.  It looks great on an end table, nightstand, table or shelf.  The texture and color are gorgeous and the brass handles give it an elevated look.

The tray is the perfect size for holding my journaling essentials on the end table next to my sofa.  This is where I settle in each morning with my hot cup of coffee to start the morning.

MY BEDROOM

Studio McGee Brass Magnifying Glass – This magnifying glass seemed larger in person than it did online.  I liked the twist metal detail on it.

Accent items like knots, links, candles and magnifying glasses add a little cherry on top of a stack of books or boxes on a console table, coffee table or shelf.  My new bedroom is larger than my old one, and I was able to fit this console table opposite my bed.  It used to live in the formal dining room, but we lost that space when we moved.  I’m so glad to have a good spot for it here!

JORDAN’S ROOM

Pom Pom Pillow – One of those darling things that just jumps into your cart and you can’t toss it out because it’s just too dang cute!  This pillow is super plush and fun with the little pom pom details.

Gah, she’s too cute!  Her new room is really coming along! Rhonda helped me stick the rainbow wall decal to the wall, the shades are in and now I’m waiting on a proper dresser since she doesn’t have one.  In our old house, her dresser drawers were the deep ones in her bathroom.  My friends gifted me a Pottery Barn gift card for my birthday, and I put it toward that new dresser.  It should be here this month!

BACK PATIO

Woven Basket – We spend lots of time outside and have several toys that could use a pretty home when not in use.  This sturdy woven basket is made to live outdoors and is actually pretty tall.

Planter – Similar to the planter I put in my office, this one has a rustic look and two side handles.

She’s currently sitting in my back patio, just waiting on a new plant to fit inside!
