New Nordstrom Styles & President’s Day Sales
Hi friend! I hope you’re getting to enjoy a day off work today! A three-day weekend is always a nice thing! We had such a fun, memorable weekend.
Friday was Jordan’s 6th birthday and she loved getting to bring Ryan’s World cookies to class. We’re in Houston and had The Bearded Baker (he’s been on the food network!) make them and they turned out amazing and really yummy. He makes other treats too, so I highly recommend him if you’re in the area.
Then, we had a family dinner at her choice- Russo’s pizza, followed by ice cream after. On Saturday, she had a basketball game, then a small party at Dave & Busters. Ashley Cakes made the Ryan’s World cake and it was super cute!
Aaand, as if all of that wasn’t enough, yesterday was my birthday! Brian took me and the kids to Common Bond Cafe, a cute and casual restaurant that has delicious desserts! He was so sweet and gifted me this Willow Tree figurine that brought me to tears. But, I was already emotional from reading the thoughtful message from his girls on my birthday card. I’m feeling extremely blessed and grateful!

GET THESE JEANS! If your jeans/tee shirt game needs an upgrade, I tried out a few different styles for you. First up are a pair I’m loving and already wore here.
These are a high waist, ultra comfortable and flattering jean with that tummy taming technology to keep everything nice and slim. They are supposed to be more crop length, but are hitting me right at the ankle. They have a raw edge hem (so easy to cut with sharp scissors if you wanted to make them shorter) and a cute little side v that you can’t really see here.
I also like the medium blue wash. There’s a bit of whiskering at the hips, but it isn’t overdone. Other than that, there’s no distressing and I’m liking that! You won’t want to take this pair off! And they’re priced right at under $80!
Jeans Fit: I’m wearing a 0 in Blue, I prefer 0P. Size down if you’re in between sizes.
White tees tend to need replacing every few years, so I tried this Nordstrom brand “Everyday Tee”. I like it for it’s classic v-neck style, and slim shape. It feels soft to the touch and has good stretch, in a thinner material.
It comes in at least 7 colors, but I wanted to test the opacity of the white one and it’s fair. Meaning, it’s a bit on the sheer side, not see through, but you’ll definitely want to wear a flesh toned bra underneath. In a color, you won’t have to worry about that.
Otherwise, I like this tee for wearing alone with jeans and shorts, and also with a cardigan or jean jacket on top.

I kinda cheated on this tee because I already have it in a lighter grey. I like the modern, twisted neckline in a soft scoop shape. It’s got more of a cap sleeve and relaxed shape- perfect for weekends.
Tee Fit: I’m wearing an XS
These are the same brand jeans as above in a different style. The 0P fit much more like a skinny jean and felt more snug, but they do stretch with wear. I like this dark indigo wash because they’re easy to dress up for evening or casual Friday at work. Other than the raw edge hem, they don’t have any rips/tears/distressing or whiskering, giving you a more streamlined shape.
These also sculpt and shape, giving you that nice booty lift and are only $68!
Jeans Fit: TTS, I’m wearing a 0P in Indigo
Now let’s talk about this crossbody bag! It’s the perfect small bag for year round, but will work especially well for Spring and Summer when we tend to wear lighter colors.

Girls night ready by just adding a pair of nude heels and a dressy top. I like the feminine details on this one with the mock neck and delicate crochet pattern. It’s a shorter length, but I could still tuck it if I wanted to, which makes me think it would be gorgeous with a tulle or other party skirt.

Or, if you wanted to go Casual Friday at your office, this blouse is always a winner. I’ve had it in the past in other colors and it instantly makes you feel put together, like you tried harder than you did. It’s a silky tunic pullover with a classy v-neck, but no collar.

I’ve already worn this top and it’s perfect for in-between weather and I could even see it worn during the Summer with jean shorts on a chilly night. It’s a lightweight knit with sporty double stripes and barely puffed sleeve.

As of the time I’m writing this, this sweater is on major sale! I dig the scallop neckline and fun, bobble sleeves. The pink is pretty in person, and it also comes in lavender, red and light blue.

Similar to the tunic top I showed you above, this silky number with gold grommets gives it a cool vibe. You could wear it to work or for date night with jeans and a heel like I’m wearing here.

I’m crazy for this classic v-neck tank with just the tiniest bit of sheer detail lining the chest and shoulder. It’s great for wearing alone, but also as a layering piece.

These white jeans are so good! They’re designer denim AG brand that I’ve had good luck with in the past with white- theirs are always very opaque, not at all sheer, which I really like.
This style is a high waist slim straight leg, so slightly wider from the knee down than your traditional skinny jean. On the model, they were hitting a few inches above the ankle, but on me (5’1), they sit right at the ankle.
I also really liked that they have the structure of a true jean (with a bit of stretch), but they aren’t a jegging, which tends to be pretty unflattering in white.
Overall, these jeans get 5 stars!

You’ll always find a scoop neck tee in my closet. They’re lightweight material and easy to front tuck and the little pocket adds something extra. This pink/white stripe tee is on sale for $11!

Before the weather heats up, I’m starting to wear more lightweight long sleeve tops and they’re a staple all year long in chilly air conditioning. This jersey top is a bit thicker than a tee, but not as heavy as a sweater. I really like the simple v-notch neck and it comes in more colors.

Ooh, these pants are even better than I expected! They’re a pull on linen track style pant that are so comfy and cute! They’re crop length with a rounded hem and side slit. I can’t wait to take them on vacay and even wear them over a swimsuit. They’re also perfect for casual weekends!

SKORTS
This mini skirt is actually a ‘skort’. They pull on and look like a skirt from the front, but it’s shorts from behind. I love the way these fit and the substantial material. The front skirt part is pleated and it has pockets, simply zipping up in the back. They sold out fast, but have been restocked! See them styled more ways here.

It’s never too late to start taking good care of your skin! My skin looks better at 47 than it did in my 30s.
