Neutral Coffee Table Books

Hi friend! We’re almost to the weekend! Yay for that!  Our weather can’t seem to make up its mind lately, it was sunny and warm last weekend, and now it’s rainy and super cold.  Kinda just makes me want to curl up on the couch with a good book!

For the past few years, I’ve been working on minimizing and styling our home in a way that feels fresh and clean, yet still inviting and cozy.  One thing I love incorporating into our home decor is coffee table books.  I like the character and charm they add, while providing useful reading material.

Minimalista book

I tend to stick with neutrals because those muted tones are what resonates with me and I think they lend well to a soothing atmosphere.

The books I buy tend to be on the subject of home decor or food- two themes I can’t get enough of.  I probably like reading cookbooks more than cooking itself!

The pink tones in these books look pretty in a bedroom or sitting room.

For decor purposes, I usually take the dust cover off and recycle it.  Many books have a beautiful texture underneath that jacket.  Also, when purchasing books, make sure to look at the spine because that’s what you’re most likely to see when the books are stacked on a shelf.

You can always buy used books for a lower price at your local used bookstore or at garage sales.  Etsy also sells books that are curated in certain color palettes.

I shop my local bookstore and Amazon and have also found good deals at places like TJ Maxx and Marshalls. Did you know you could order online at those stores now?!  I saw the popular Tom Ford book on sale there. The big luscious AD book is also a steal on TJ Maxx’s website.

Floral, gardening and art books make great decor pieces too. How pretty is this book?!

It’s fun to arrange and rearrange as a way to breath new life into a space.

As you can see, I use books in decor all around the house, from the entryway to the kitchen, to bedrooms and even my closet!

Children’s books can also look beautiful in their room. When we hosted Marianna’s baby shower, everyone brought a book for baby!
