Just (the BEST) Sales

Hi friend!  Can you believe we’re already in December?! I feel like Thanksgiving break took it out of me and I need a break from my break!  Most of you said you feel the same!  Luckily, there’s nothing on the agenda for the weekend, so I’ll be able to rest and recoup then.

I’m also anxious for our Christmas cards to arrive!  I’ve felt like I need to conserve energy and only do the things that our family really enjoys this season, and I wasn’t sure if holiday cards were gonna happen.  But, I had the pics of me and James that Rhonda snapped, so I really just needed one of Jordan to make a complete photo card.

On Sunday night, she was already in her new Christmas jammies, so we plopped a Santa hat on her head and I took a couple of impromptu pics of her that turned out super cute.

I have a small digital camera that I can just set to auto and all the pictures come out great, plus, it’s Wifi, so it transfers the photos to my phone wirelessly.  It’s the same camera I take most of my blog photos with.

I love how organically this came together.  This year, just the thought of trying to figure out coordinating outfits, order them in time, and plan a photoshoot with a photographer had me feeling exhausted.  I just don’t have the energy for it right now and that’s ok.

But, simply stepping outside onto our front porch and letting Jordan be silly while I snapped a few pics was super easy and no pressure!  We were literally done in less than 10 minutes.

I ordered our cards at Mpix (not sponsored;) and they had a selection where you could add a couple of photos, so that’s what I picked.  I got expedited shipping and Walgreens had cute holiday stamps, so I just need to address them and get them out the door!

  1. Adorable! Jordan is looking more like you each year and her energy almost jumps off the screen! I like that you’re pausing to think about what’s important at Christmas and making decisions that will ultimately make this season nicer and healthier for you and your family. Wishing you all a blessed Christmas.

  2. Well this was the perfect thing to see this morning- I just don’t have the time/energy/desire to pull of the coordinated prof photos for a card this year- it sounds exhausting and honestly my boys hate it
I was going to skip the cards but am going to take a cue from you and snap some pics after school with them to use- will be so much less stressful it might be my new tradition
Thanks for being so relatable- your beautiful children really look like you! 🙂

    1. Aww thanks Sara. I agree that some years we just don’t have the energy and yes, kids often get so irritable/uncomfortable in those professional shoots!

  3. Taking it easy and finding joy in the simple moments feels refreshing. Speaking of simplicity, capturing those adorable Christmas card moments sounds delightful—especially with a swift photoshoot on your porch! It’s great to stumble upon effortless ways to cherish these memories. By the way, browsing internet I’ve found https://writinguniverse.com/ great writing help resource. And they made for me great 3 guides for my blog. Cheers to easygoing moments and snagging those bargains!
