Mother’s Day Gifts

Hi friends! How was your weekend?  We’ve been enjoying the most beautiful weather here in Houston.  It’s been sunny and warm, not too hot with a bit of a breeze.  If I didn’t know better, I’d swear we were in California – land of no humidity. #jealous We know the swamplike temps will be here soon, so this kind of weather makes us all want to get outside.

We had a backyard crawfish boil for my nephew’s third birthday on Saturday and I also took the kids to the park both days.  We walked (James biked) for extra exercise.  Pushing a stroller or pulling a wagon is no joke, but I’m feeling so good for doing it.

Which brings me to my latest fitness challenge.  I’m calling it “9 Weeks to Beach Body” and it’s in preparation for my trip to Florida with Brian this summer.  I’m putting all the details in my Weekend Newsletter and you can sign up here if haven’t already.

Each week, I’m including :

  • My fitness goal
  • My WHY & Mantra for sticking with it
  • My body composition (weight, body fat%)
  • What I’m eating & specific macros
  • My exercise, including cardio & calories burned
  • Hours of sleep
  • How I’m feeling
  • Fitness wins & challenges
  • What I can improve on next week

I’d love to have you join and even do it with me if you need some extra motivation!

MOTHER’S DAY GIFTS

Today, I have Mother’s Day gift ideas for you.  My mom has truly been such a blessing in my life and I cherish our relationship.  She had me at 17, so in a lot of ways, we’re like sisters or maybe some days, I’m the mom.  😉  But she really helps me so much and is the kind of person who would give the shirt off her back.  We’re so fortunate to have her in our lives.

And you know what? Last year, Brian and I hadn’t been dating that long and I got a Mother’s Day card in the mail from him!  He hadn’t even met my kids yet, but it really touched me and gave him lots of extra points!

Espadrilles

The bow detail on these espadrille sandals is so sweet and they aren’t too high. They’re by UGG, which is known for their comfort and quality.  This pair has a cushioned footbed and zips up the back for easy on/off. They also come in a gorgeous pale blue and basic black with a chevron-striped wedge.

Mama Necklace

A dainty statement necklace with little baubles on the chain.  The mama part stays put without twisting, which makes it perfect for wearing alone or layering.

Lipstick

This is my go-to date night color and it looks so fresh and natural.  It’s a gorgeous pink that flatters every skin tone and the formula is nice and moisturizing.  The shade is called “Liv It Up,”

Tory Burch Tote

Tory can do no wrong in my eyes.  I have this tote and it’s stylish and sturdy, and goes with everything.  I like the smaller size of this one.  It holds everything you need, without being too big.  I think most moms would feel so spoiled if they found this bag wrapped up in a big bow.

Throw Blanket

This blanket is a no brainer.  I can vouch for the softness and quality and it’s great for cuddling, but not too hot.  It comes in a rainbow of colors (I have the vanilla in our living room) with a tassel trim.  Bonus, it’s under $40.

Hat

This is the first sun hat I’ve found that rivals my love of the Amazon sun hat.  I just got this one in grey and it’s so cute on, very flattering with an adjustable string inside so you can tighten or loosen it to fit your head.  It’s also packable!

Pajama Set

What a pretty pair of pajamas and they’re also really soft and comfy!  I like that the material is lightweight so you won’t get all sweaty in them during the summer.  Perfect for lounging around on Sunday morning, enjoying blogs and coffee!

Sneakers

If mom needs a new pair of sneakers, these are the ones I’ve been wearing to workout/run in for ages and they are so good!  I wear mine almost daily and they’ve held up really well, providing lots of cushion and support. I size up half in them.

Always Pan

If you really want to spoil mom, get her the Always Pan.  Yes, I know it’s basically like getting someone a stick vac, but I promise she’ll love it!  It makes cooking so much easier because literally nothing sticks to it!  Brian came over for date night this week and I make salmon, spinach and rice for dinner.

This pan seared our salmon perfectly, then I just wiped it out and sautéed the spinach.  Brian is sweet and washes dishes and even he remarked how easy the pan was to clean.

I have the charcoal color, but it comes in so many pretty colors – even a new, gorgeous blue.  And it’s on sale- which almost never happens.

If you do end up getting mom this pan, I’m sure you’ll want to steal it from her! ha! But really, I feel like I could use a second one for when I’m cooking two things at once.  Sure would be nice!

And, its not only a nonstick fry pan- you can also sauté, steam, and make sauces in it.  It even comes with its own spatula and spoon rest.

Well, I’m off to get the kiddos to school and then do some work before my 9:45 a.m. exercise class.  I hope to see y’all on Stories for Q&A Monday!

Now let’s go kick Monday’s booty!
