Full Evening Beauty Routine

Just a hop skip and a jump to the weekend now! Every other weekend when I have some extra time to myself I like to do a leisurely evening beauty routine.

Most days are so busy and my night routine is as quick as possible- just wash, apply a night serum, moisturizer, lash & lip serum, and hit the sack!  But Sunday’s I prefer to be slow and intentional.  It’s wonderfully indulgent to take time to pamper your face and body and nurture yourself.

In this post, I’m going to share my full evening beauty routine, the products I use and why they are my faves.  These are things I’ve been using for years, totally recommend, and nothing is sponsored.  I’ve found these things work really well for me and they might for you too!

FULL EVENING BEAUTY ROUTINE

Full Evening Beauty RoutineMy leisurely evening beauty routine is done on Sunday and I take my time, enjoying each part of the process.

I begin by brewing a cup of hot peppermint tea. Peppermint tea aids in digestion and is also said to relieve tension, ease cramps, freshen breath and improve sleep.  I like the way it tastes and drinking something warm in the evening helps relax me.  It also helps me avoid late night cravings so I don’t overindulge at night before bed.

SHOWER

Next, I take a warm shower, taking my time and focusing on the feel of the water on my skin.  I try to be fully present in the shower, noticing how the water feels against my skin and taking some deep breaths to exhale any stress I’m feeling.

I’m a creature of habit and always wash my face first thing.  I use the Radiant Cleansing Balm and apply it to my dry face before I step into the shower. I use the muslin cloth to wipe it off and my skin is left feeling smooth and hydrated.

SHAMPOO & CONDITIONER

Next, I double wash my hair to make sure I get it really clean. I use dry shampoo so often and workout hard, so by hair washing day, it’s really dirty!  Also, I find that oils tend to accumulate at the back of my scalp, so a double shampoo helps remove those greasy oils.

I always use a scalp massager when I shampoo because it circulates blood flow and helps you maintain a healthy scalp, which helps with hair growth.

I’ve been using the Olaplex Shampoo and Conditioner and I really like them.  The entire Olaplex line is designed to maintain and repair your hair by restoring the broken bonds from the inside out.  The Olaplex systems repair hair that’s been damaged by brushing, heat, color, chemicals, sun and cold weather conditions.

Olaplex is the only one with this patented technology and it’s safe for all hair types.

The shampoo repairs, strengthens and hydrates your hair, plus it smells amazing and you get a great lather.  It also eliminates flyaways and breakage.

The conditioner also smells great and has the same repairing properties.  I don’t feel like it’s too heavy on my hair, and it’s a lighter weight consistency.

Suction Shower Caddy Basket

*By the way, I LOVE this Suction Shower Caddy Basket!  It has two suction cups on each side and it sticks like no other!  You turn the basket to a 90 degree angle, then push the suction cups against the wall.  Then you fold the basket back down and it locks in place. I had it on the shower wall before, but it would fall every few months- always in the middle of the night!  Since I put it on the glass part of the shower, it hasn’t fallen once!  It’s nice and large and keeps all these things off my shower bench!

I’ll also shave my legs with my Billie Razor & shaving cream. I’ve been using this for a couple years now and it gives an amazing close shave. Plus, the magnetic handle for the razor is genius!

Billie Razor

I typically use Dove body wash with a pouf for my body.

Going the extra mile, I’ll take a loofah to the bottom of my feet, scrubbing off any calluses and rough spots.

OUT OF THE SHOWER

Stepping out of the shower (and I highly recommend stepping onto this plush mat), I towel dry and, if I’m not going to self tan, I’ll apply body lotion from my neck to toes while my skin is a little bit damp. It helps to absorb the lotion better.  Y’all know I love these body butters– they smell so good!

But, if I plan to self tan, I skip the moisturizer so I don’t have any spots that the tanner sticks to more than others.  I also make sure to dry really well, so there’s no wet spots when I apply my self tanner.

If I notice any residual mascara on my face, I’ll dip a q-tip into my Lancome Eye Makeup Remover and it gets it right off!

I put on my towel wrap (love this thing and got one for my mom for Mother’s Day!) and brush out my hair with my wet brush.  I color my hair and it tends to get tangled when I wash it, and this brush detangles like no other.

I like to towel dry my hair with a microfiber hair towel because it quickly absorbs extra moisture.

Then I will apply Olaplex No. 3 from roots to ends and comb it through with a wide tooth comb.

I’ll put my hair up in a silk scrunchie while I continue my evening routine and sleep with it in, rinsing it out in the morning. I’ve had such good results with Olaplex since I started using it at the insistence of my hairdresser. My bangs have grown out from short broken bits to pretty long layers.  My hair also feels softer and healthier since I’ve been using it.

Now it’s time to pamper my face.  I use a lash serum on my lashes and also found this brow serum that I’ve been using.

I can’t go to sleep without moisturizing my lips and alternate between Lenaige lip balm and Tatcha Lip Mask.  If I could only choose one, I’d go with the Tatcha.

SKINCARE

I use my magnification mirror to examine my skin and see what it’s needing. If it’s on the dry side, I’ll apply a moisturizing mask and perhaps a night oil.

Usually, I go for the clarifying detox mask. It’s one of my favorite at-home masks because you can really feel it working and your skin is baby soft and radiant after.

Sometimes, I will microneedle my skin with my GloPRO and then apply the Age Renewal Super Serum and moisturizer.

The point is to experiment and find what works best for your skin, depending on the time of the month, the season, how much stress you’ve been under and how your skin is looking and feeling.

Evening Beauty Routine

I first discovered the GloPRO during the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale in 2019 and have been using it ever since.

I love it because it’s so easy it is to use (just a few minutes a few times a week), how effective it is, and also relatively inexpensive compared to a dermatologist visit.

It helps with acne scars, hyperpigmentation, texture, elasticity, wrinkles, and more.

The roller has teeny little needles on it and you roll it over your face, in vertical, horizontal and diagonal directions for 60 seconds total, no pressure needed- the machine does the work.

I usually start with horizontal strokes on my forehead about 4 times, then go vertical, then diagonal- kind of in a snowflake or star pattern.  Then I move onto my cheeks and chin.  As the roller moves over your skin, it stimulates the skin so that the skin cells repair themselves, resulting in better looking skin.

Your serums and moisturizers will work best (200x better) if you use them within 60 seconds after using the GloPro, so make sure to apply them quickly after rolling.

My go-to for Sunday night is the Clarifying Detox Mask. It gets rid of all those impurities, trapped dirt, and dead cells and leaves your skin looking and feeling amazing.

It’s contains activated charcoal and French Kaolin clay to detox your pores and leave behind a balanced complexion. It has a blend of Vitamin C and Willowherb extract to brighten and soothe inflamed skin.

Honestly, it feels so good to slowly pamper yourself in this way.  If you can carve out some alone time to do this, I highly recommend it!  At this point, I’m already feeling so good and relaxed and I can feel the charcoal mask starting to work and tighten my skin.

While the mask is doing its thing, it’s time for self tanner.

SELF TAN

St. Tropez Self Tanner • Mitt

Y’all know I’m a new convert to St. Tropez, and I feel like it’s the best tan I’ve gotten from a bottle.  And the cool thing is, you can control how dark you get with it.  Rinse in 1 hour for a light tan, after 2 hours for a deeper tan, and 3 hours for the darkest tan.  I don’t even rinse the day I apply it.

This one is a mousse and applies really easily.  If you have trouble reaching your back (who doesn’t?!) try this back applicator.  I’m gonna order it to see how well it works, but it has 7,000 positive reviews!

Pajamas

I swear, when you rinse off the clarifying mask, your skin looks and feels sooooo good!

I like to follow up with the Extreme Recovery Cream and Retinol Eye Serum after that.

Don’t forget to get down onto your delicate neck area with the Recovery Cream.

ORAL HEALTH

Evening Beauty Routine

I floss, then brush my teeth with an Oral-B electric toothbrush that my dentist recommended three years ago. He said they clean teeth so much better and reach more surface area than we do when we brush with a regular toothbrush.  I’ve gotten A+ checkups ever since.  I also like how you can change the settings and it vibrates to let you know when to switch quadrants.

I also have a tongue scraper that gets off bacteria and other gunk, leaving you with fresher breath and a clean tongue.

DON’T FORGET THE FEET

Evening Beauty Routine

The last step is to apply Theraplex Barrier Balm to my feet and then slip into socks.  I originally got this for my son’s sensitive skin – it’s dermatologist recommend for eczema, psoriasis and other severe skin conditions, but I love it for my feet!  I apply it liberally to the bottom of my feet, then slip into socks.  I wake up with baby soft feet!

Do you have a full evening routine you follow?  If so, doesn’t it feel so good?  I mean, most days we’re lucky to get 10 minutes alone in the shower without someone needing something from us or feeling like we have to hurry!  That’s probably why this feels so indulgent!

But it’s not silly to take care of ourselves and carve out that time where you can relax with a cup of hot tea, put the cares of the day behind you, and give yourself a little TLC.  Am I right?
