Hi friends! Yay for Friday! I’m giddy because I’m going on a much needed girls trip to celebrate our friend Jamie’s birthday today! It’s just an overnight trip to her lake house and it will be soooo good to see everyone in person again! It’s all potluck, and I’m bringing Rhonda’s Chocolate Chip Cookies (free printable recipe here)! I hope I don’t eat them all before I get there! 😉

But first, I went through every.single.page of the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale 2020 and wanted to share my top picks with you!

1 Zella Leggings • There are several pairs of Zella leggings included in the NSale this year, lots of fun patterns too. I find that the crop length aren’t that flattering on my short legs, the long length are usually too long, but the GOLDILOCKS pair are the 7/8 length! They are JUST RIGHT hitting above my ankle without having to roll them under! And they look great on taller ladies too. These are the same great quality you’ve come to expect from Zella in a comfortable high waist and made with moisture wicking fabric to keep you cool. $42 NSale, $65 after the sale
2 Barefoot Dreams Cardigan ($68)• Always a fan favorite and they make the BEST gifts. It’s the cardigan that even my son steals from me and looks great after a million machine washes. It rarely goes on sale and always sells out fast. The “H Silver Pearl” is a really pretty almost white color. $68 NSale, $116 after the sale
3 Patagonia Jacket • Another thing to look out for at the Nordstrom Sale is The North Face and Patagonia jackets. They are known for their quality and being worth the price, but of course you want to get them while they’re 40% off! This jacket is packable, has Thermogreen insulation to keep you warm with a wind blocking collar and a water repellent finish. It’s also okay to machine wash and dry it. Plus, the quilted pattern is super cute! $111 NSale, $159 after the sale
4 Vince Camuto Knee High Boots • There weren’t as many boots and booties I was crazy for in the sale this year, but there are good ones to freshen up your Fall and Winter wardrobe with. These knee high boots are stunning with a 3 1/2 inch heel and a pointy squared off toe that will elongate your leg. They come in black and camel and have a side zip closure. $149 NSale, $239 after the sale
5 Adidas Sneakers • Y’all are always asking me about these fun leopard print sneakers I have, but they’ve been sold out forever! You can grab them at the Nsale 40% off in this print or solid black or white. I don’t wear them for running, but I do workout in them and run errands in them. $49 NSale, $85 after the sale
6 Vince Camuto Bootie • What a hot bootie for Fall! I’m smitten with the shape of this one with a stacked heel, back zipper and 3 1/2 inch stacked heel. I’m partial to the suede color, but it comes in several color options and prints – the “Tostada Snake Print” is really cool. $99 NSale, $149 after the sale
7 Strapless Bra • You know I swear by this strapless bra! It keeps the girls up comfortably ALL DAY without any fidgeting! There are underwire cups and light padding, and it’s convertible. It also has gripper strips on the side so it stays put! I machine wash mine and lay it flat to dry and it has lasted for years! Fits TTS. $39 NSale, $68 after the sale
8 Wacoal Perfect T-Shirt Bra • This is hands down one of the most comfortable bras I’ve owned- probably because it has NO WIRES! It’s lays beautifully under thin t-shirts without any weird or obvious bra lines. Fits TTS. $39 NSale, $65 after the sale
9 Longchamp Tote Bag • Kudos to Ali-Shaun for recommending this one! It’s genius for everyday or travel because it zips/unzips at the middle to make it shorter or longer! And it’s packable! It’s a classic style and made with water resistant nylon fabric that’s practically indestructible. I’m crazy for mine! $119 NSale, $195 after the sale
10 AG Jeans • YAY! Our favorite designer jeans are in the Nsale this year and actually, I’d pay full price for jeans that make my butt look this good! And they’re super slimming! $149 NSale, $225 after the sale
11 Barefoot Dreams Throw • Definitely a splurge, but one I’m happy I made. Everyone in our family has his/her own throw and we cuddle with it daily! It’s not only deliciously comfortable, it’s stylish too! $119 NSale, $180 after the sale
12 Olaplex • This three-pack includes the shampoo, conditioner, and hair perfector. My hairdresser recommended Olaplex No. 3 to me after my last hair appointment and I’ve been really happy with how well my broken front/sides are growing out after using this for two months. $84 NSale, $126 value
13 Moonlight Pajamas Set • It doesn’t get more comfy than this stretchy super soft set of pajamas. Great for lounging around the house or sending you off to sleep. $39 NSale, $65 after the sale
14 No Show Undies • Yes ladies, we’re going there! Or maybe “not there” because these undies feel like you aren’t wearing any- in the best way! They are seamless, so no panty lines and soooo comfortable. They come in different styles – thong, bikini and hipster. $14 NSale, $20 after the sale
15 Oribe Texturizing Spray & Dry Shampoo ($64)• I’m just about out of this texturizing spray, but I’m waiting for this sale to replenish! This product helps me to extend the life of my blowout and prevents hair damage in between washes. $64 NSale, $96 value

Dress • I’m calling this the “Miami dress” and I’m inviting all of you to head there with me and we’ll dance the night away! I have no idea where I can wear this dress in my real life, but I’m keeping it because I’m an optimist! It has a darling rippled rusched front and smocked back With a little flirty ruffled hem. It’s fully lined and you can adjust the shoulder straps. Dress Fit: I’m wearing an XS
Jean Shorts • One of the first things I saw when I walked into Target were these light wash jeans shorts. I picked up a size 0 and size 2, not sure how they would fit. When I got home and tried them on, I was surprised to realize they actually have a crochet him detail on them. I probably wouldn’t have picked that if I had noticed it at first, but it’s so subtle and really adds a fun touch to the shorts. Shorts Fit: I’m wearing a 0 and they have a comfortable high waist. The 2 also fit, but were more relaxed. $17 & stocked in all sizes
Cleansing Balm • I’ve been using this gentle cleanser for years and still love it. It’s probably the product I would recommend if I had to choose only one. It’s a balm cleanser you apply with your clean fingers to your dry face. Then, you wet the muslin cloth with warm water that it comes with and gently wipe off the balm. Puff Sleeve Top • Take your typical tee and dress it up a notch with this puff sleeve beauty. It’s made of a cotton modal stretch material that feels thick and stretchy. The white is nice and opaque, but it comes in several colors. Fits TTS, I wear XS.

Jumpsuit • Y’all, GET THIS JUMPSUIT! It’s my absolute fave and I’m crazy for the new crop style and slightly textured material. It feels as soft as your comfiest pair of pajamas, but you can feel confident wearing it outdoors. The elastic drawstring waist is functional and allows you to blouse over the top. And it has pockets! Fit: TTS, I wear an XS and it fits perfectly
Tie Dye Pajamas • OMG my two current obsessions in one item – tie dye and jammies! This set feels velvety soft on and the color is gorgeous. There’s a cute ruffle trim on the shorts and they have pockets! Pajama Fit: The Small fit me well.
Denim Shorts • I saw that this pair had over 2,000 positive reviews and I liked the relaxed style, so I snatched them up quick. I’m wearing the “sky blue” which has lots of distressing and a raw edge hem. They fit true to size, but are also relaxed. Fit: I’m wearing a Small, Color Sky Blue and they fit me better after washing and drying
Workout Dress • I’ve never had something like this before and I’m smitten! It’s an athletic/yoga dress with a built in shelf bra. The bra is more supportive than I thought it would be, but it’s definitely for low impact sports. It also has a sweet double criss cross in the back. It’s made of a moisture wicking fabric to help keep you cool and dry. Fits TTS, I wear an XS

Pajama Set • No matter the season, I love changing into a fresh set of pajamas at the end of the day. It signals my brain that it’s time to switch from hustle mode to relaxed mode! This pair is darling with the striped tank and lace trim shorts, and also perfect for hot summer nights.
Sweater Tank • I’m always a fan of sweater tanks and this one is sweet with the almost striped texture it has going on. I love this pretty dusty pink color, but it also comes in white.
Stud Sandal • These stud sandals are the sandal of the season and the spikey studs make me feel like a cool mom. Yet, they are really comfortable to wear and very well made. They fit TTS.
Face Mask • Never did I think I’d be including a face mask in Loves, but welcome to 2020! The adult masks I was wearing were too big for my face, and kept riding up into my eyes, making it hard for me to see. This one is a kids’ version and a steal (2 for $4). It fits my face perfectly!

I can’t believe it’s nearly back to school time for kids! Mine have only been home since March! It’s been such a crazy last few months, but overall, I’m so glad I got this “extra” time with my kids. We’ve really bonded during this time and our relationship is even strong for it!

WHAT ORDER TO APPLY SKINCARE
PRO TIP : Label your products in the order you apply them or with “AM” & “PM”. I put my morning and night products in two separate collections so it’s easy to see which are to be applied in the morning and at night.
You may not use every product every day, it often depends on what your skin needs or what season you’re in (i.e. more moisture in winter), but if you can get the gist down with labels or by how you organize your products, you won’t be overwhelmed when you go to use them. And who can read that tiny print?!
I’ve touched on this very topic in this skincare post, but I wanted to elaborate on it here. I also went straight to the source, Colleen Rothschild, to see what she recommended. Her mantra is : When in doubt, keep it simple: Cleanse > Treat > Moisturize

SKIN CHECK
I got the nudge to get my skin checked by my friend Sarah, so I wanted to pay it forward. If you needed to hear this, here’s your sign! I went to my dermatologist last week for a skin check because I had a suspicious spot on my nose and so.many.moles all over my body. The nose turned out to be nothing, but she did find a mole with irregular borders that had to be shaved off and biopsied.
They numbed my back first so I didn’t feel the shaving part and it literally took 5 minutes. That spot was tender when the numbness wore off, but on a pain scale of 1-10, it’s a 1.
The mole was on my back and tiny so I never could see that it was oddly shaped. Plus, even the doctor had to use a magnifying glass to look and really get a good look at the shape of the mole. I should hear the results back soon and hopefully it’s all good. BUT, it’s always better to detect things early!
UPDATE: I’m so thankful to get the news from my dermatologist that my mole was normal. I’m so relieved! Thank you so much for your kind, supportive comments.

If you prepare your meals in advance, you will literally be amazed at how much more free time you have! I mean, think about all of the mental energy we spend figuring out what to eat, and then how often we think about it during the day. When you have your meals already prepared, it frees up so much mental space in your brain!

These last couple of months I’ve had the dining room project going on inside the house, but also lots of updates to the outside of the house. I gave my landscaping a much needed update and freshened up my patio decor!
