Christmas Traditions | Family Movie Night

Thank you to ShopStyle and Disney+ for sponsoring today’s post.

Hello friends! Welcome back!  Do you have any fun plans during your Christmas break?  We are just staying home and visiting with friends and family.  But one thing is for sure, we’ll be cozying up on the couch with our hot cocoa watching movies!  It’s become a Friday night tradition to do a family movie night and it’s something we look forward to every week.

After school on Friday, we usually stop at a coffee shop for a little treat, then come home and have an early dinner.  By 6pm, we’re all in our pajamas in the living room, ready for the movie of the week.

Disney+ Movie Night

Both of my kids love getting to pick the movie, and to reduce any arguments over what movie we’re watching, we alternate who gets to pick the movie.  One week, James gets to choose, and the next week, it’s Jordan’s turn.

But now, thanks to the launch of Disney+, we have more options than ever that we ALL enjoy!

Disney+ provides unprecedented, ad-free access to the magic of the world’s most beloved brands.  The service is the ultimate home for Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, National Geographic, and more.

I love how easy it is to access and browse all the different choices.  My nine year-old son was actually the first one to let me know about the new Disney+ streaming service.  He already had the app on the phone and was so excited about all the new movie options.

You can start your 7-day FREE trial of Disney+ here.

From The Mandalorian, the first ever live-action Star Wars series (James’ fave!), to the live-action Lady and the Tramp (on our list), Disney+ offers content for every member of the family.

You can watch these movies on your TV, tablet, mobile phone, computer or game console.

Disney+ Movie Night

Last weekend, we got to try it out for the first time and our Friday night movie tradition turned into a Sunday afternoon soiree.  With popcorn of course!

Signing up for Disney+ was super easy and within five minutes we all agreed on “The Incredibles” as the first movie to watch.  Have you seen it lately?  It’s such a fun movie that we all enjoyed!  Jordan is smitten with the whole Incredibles family and James loves all the special effects.

And isn’t it the sweetest when you catch your siblings cuddling up with each other?!

We ended up making it a double feature, and then watched Frozen.  For the 100th time- it never gets old!

As much as we may want try to fit all these extra fun things into our calendar, sometimes it’s the best to just get into pajamas and stay inside watching a movie.

Hi Lindsey, it’s from Pottery Barn. I love it, but I have to be careful with the kids since it’s white- no eating on it!
