September Loves

Good morning Monday!  I hope your week is off to a great start!  Last night, as I started preparing my calendar and agenda for the week ahead, I started to feel already overwhelmed with all.the.things.

September means we’re back knee deep in after school homework and sports are back in session with mid-week practices and weekend games.  As much as I like the routine, I often feel the tension between trying to balance my need for s l o w days with my ambitious and productive nature.  Can anyone relate to that?

This week, I’m trying to be extra disciplined and work smart during my work hours, so I can truly enjoy the hours after my work day ends.  I hate that feeling at the end of the day where I’m trying to ‘catch up’ on what didn’t get done during the day.

I’m also going to watch the language running through my brain and try to turn around any negative thoughts.  For example, the ones that make me feel stressed with deadlines and so much to do with so little time.

Here’s the truth.  We do have the time when we’re being smart with it.  When we’re deliberate and plan ahead.  We all do.  Even Oprah only has 24 hours in her day!

I could go on and on with this topic, so before I get too deep, let’s switch gears!

SEPTEMBER LOVES

Today, it’s time for a new Monthly Loves. If you’re new to Loves, it’s where I share things I’m loving each month, with the aim to highlight fabulous things I swear by, some things I want to try, great deals, and under $50 finds!  All perfectly appropriate for the flavor of each month!  I love sourcing goodies and sharing them with you!

Leopard ScarfNail ColorOff Shoulder Top • JeansFall Hat • Tiger Stripe Flats

Flat Iron • Wrap Bracelet

Leopard Scarf • I may need another leopard scarf like I need a hole in my head (one of my Grandma Nola’s favorite sayings), but I dig this one and the burnt orange in it.  Plus, adding a lightweight scarf to your jeans and tee is a good way to transition to Fall while we’re waiting for the temps to drop.

Jeans • Kut from the Kloth is one of my favorite budget friendly jeans and this new ankle style with a raw edge hem is perfect for wearing with flats or booties.   They fit TTS with a comfortable midrise and bit of stretch.  And they’re under $80!

Tiger Stripe Flats • RAWR!  How fun are these?!  I’ve worn this same shoe in the leopard print hundreds of times, but the tiger stripe print is so cool!  Treat it like any neutral shoe and it will go with nearly anything in your closet! The flats are well made and comfortable on your feet all day.

Off Shoulder Top • I have the leopard version of this soft, off-shoulder top, but I’m crazy for this bold red version! It’s one of those tops that feels soft as pajamas.

Wrap Bracelet • I rarely go a day without wearing one of my wrap bracelets.  I love how they dress up any outfit while being lightweight and not annoying me while I’m typing on my computer.  I always have to take off my bangles! I usually wear a 5-wrap on my right wrist and a 3-wrap on my left with my watch.  Free shipping on orders over $50.

Nail Color – Black Cherry Chutney • It’s the nail color I’m wearing right now that makes me feel like I’m channeling my inner Fall goddess.  The color is dark brown with a purple tint to it. I always gets tons of compliments on it.

Flat Iron • Several of y’all have asked me to do an updated hair curing tutorial now that my hair is shorter and I do have that on my list.  In the meantime, I still use pretty much the same technique I shared here and here, but I flat iron the ends of my hair straight so that it gives it a more modern look.  This flat iron is affordable and has lasted forever!

Fall Hat • You guys went crazy for the $16 sun hat this Summer and I’ve found it’s big sister – the felt hat for Fall!  It’s the same great price, comes in tons of colors, and is adjustable.  I played with the brim just a bit to turn it down slightly at the sides.  I’m wearing the color “camel.”

What are you loving this month?  Do you have a go-to Fall nail color?  Or do you stick to the same color (or none) year round?

I hope you have an awesome day and that your week goes spectacularly well!
