Amazon Fashion Pro Shopping Tips

When I first started shopping for clothes on Amazon, I had lots of no’s, but the longer I’ve been shopping there, the better my orders have been. I post my Amazon purchases twice a month and I’m so glad it’s helpful for you to see the items on me so that you can picture how they’ll look on you.
Some of my “misses” might turn out to be “hits” for you, depending on your size and personal preference, so it’s worth checking those posts out before you buy.
Y’all also have been asking how I find so many Amazon keepers, so below I’m spilling the beans and sharing a few of my pro shopping tips! I hope they are helpful for you!
PRO TIPS FOR SHOPPING AMAZON
ONE // One of my best tips for shopping Amazon online is to find brands you love and trust, Daily Ritual and Amazon Essentials is a good place to start – then keep checking those sites on Amazon to see what’s new. Once you find your correct size in those brands, shopping for things you like is so much easier.
TWO // Read the reviews and star ratings. The shoppers on Amazon are really good about leaving their honest feedback and often will share photos of themselves in the clothes, and that can be so helpful if the person is a similar shape as you.
THREE // Be specific in your search. Instead of “women’s tops”, try “women’s embroidered tops” or “lace crochet cocktail dress” so your results are more on par with what you’re looking for. You can also narrow your search price to “under $25”.
FOUR // Watch out for items that are PRIME so that you can take advantage of the fast, free shipping!
FIVE // If an item you want isn’t on PRIME, try copying and pasting the name of the item into the search bar because often many sellers have the same or very similar products.
SIX // Try Amazon Personal Shopper by Prime Wardrobe. This is a new service I just tried out and is perfect for those of you that don’t have time or aren’t interested in doing your own searching and shopping!
AMAZON PERSONAL SHOPPER BY PRIME WARDROBE
Amazon recently launched a new personal shopper service which also helps tremendously in taking the guesswork out of shopping. With this $5 a month service, every month you’ll receive a shipment of up to 8 things specifically chosen for you by one of Amazon’s personal shopper stylists.
To sign up for the service, you open the Amazon app and search “Prime Wardrobe”.
Then, you’ll take a quick style survey so that the Amazon stylists get an idea of what kinds of things you like and what your wardrobe needs are. For example, does your workwear need an upgrade, are you looking for something you’ll feel awesome in when you go out on a date or with your friends, are you a stay-at-home mom that still wants to look cute, but be comfortable?
Once your style profile is complete, the Amazon stylists will get to work preparing their initial selections for you. You’ll get an email with their picks, and from that, you can choose up to 8 items to receive and try on at home.
When your box arrives, you’ll have 7 days to decide what you want to keep or return from your order. That’s so much better than the 3-day return window with some other personal shopping services! If you want to return something, you just open the app and click “return”, then send the items back in the bag provided along with the prepaid shipping label.
Easy peasy!
MY FIRST PERSONAL SHOPPER BY PRIME WARDROBE BOX
I can’t even count the number of hours I spend online searching page after page of Amazon fashion, so I was super excited to have someone style me for a change!
Here are the things that came in my box and my honest opinion about what they sent! I wanted to go through this experience like you would, so here’s my first order and my impressions:
Right away, I knew I was going to love this t-shirt. It’s a nice deep v-neck style made with incredibly soft fabric supima cotton. That’s the kind of fabric you want to wear all day and even sleep in! The color is also pretty and it comes in a navy blue and soft blush pink.
Top Fit : I’m wearing size XS

The jeans they sent are by J.Crew and the 9-inch high rise skinny toothpick jean in the ‘Resin Rinse’ wash. They sit just above your hip and are fitted through the hip and thigh with a skinny leg. What I liked about them is how the dark wash and skinny cut gives the appearance of longer legs. I’m only 5’1, so I’ll take any help I can get!
These jeans also have ‘perfecting pockets’ that are designed to hold you in and lift you up. 😉
You can get this same style in black, white, or two lighter washes if you prefer.
Jeans Fit: I’m wearing my true size, 25. The 9″ inch rise has a 28″ inseam.Â

I also received this floral button front top that looked so cute in the box, but unfortunately it was a ‘miss’ for me because it was too short. I’m short, but long waisted so unless I’m wearing a high waisted jean or skirt, I prefer a bit more length in my top.

This top, on the other hand, is a perfect ‘tunic length’ top! It’s also super soft and comfy and I liked the sleeveless style and side slits.

The top is versatile to wear with jeans, shorts or leggings. These shorts are from the Amazon Essentials brand that I’ve had great luck with for lots of my basic wardrobe pieces. Everything is well made and lasts a long time!

I was happy to see a dress option in my Personal Shopper picks! How cute is this dress for Fall?! I’m crazy for the burnt orange color mixed with blue florals. And did you notice that tiny bit of black lace at the shoulder? Such a fun touch!

I styled the dress for day with the nude heels, but I also like this option with a jean jacket and booties!
What do you think of my first order? I thought it was a good mix of things that I hadn’t come across before. I’m really surprised that I missed that sleeveless tunic top- it was my favorite from this order!Â

This is a really nice idea for when you want to renovate your wardrobe but no time to go in shops in person, long tunic and first tshirts are really nice
I just tried the Amazon personal shopper and got my picks. I was disappointed that it was ALL workout clothes. Two pairs of tennis shoes, two pullover sweatshirts, leggings, a sports bra, etc. I looked back at my preferences to make sure that I didn’t mess that up but it was correct. I didn’t have them send anything and they are going to credit my $5 so I will give them another shot next month. I love Amazon so I really hope I have a better variety of items next time.
