Hello and Happy Friday! I’m coming to you today from Chi-town and it’s absolutely glorious here! The weather couldn’t be better and I’m with one of my oldest and dearest friends, Trisa. We met over 20 years ago #wowza when we went to the University of Houston and sat in the same Persuasion class. We’ve been thick as thieves ever since!

Today’s Dressing Room post is a mixed bag, featuring new arrivals from Nordstrom, Amazon and American Eagle. I actually ordered more from AE, but my package didn’t arrive in time for me to share in this post, so I’ll add that soon.

Right out the gate, I’m 100% smitten with these distressed white skinny jeans. They are nice and stretchy, completely opaque with sewn faux pockets so there’s no front lumps or bumps. They are incredibly comfortable and also have a “chewed” hem.
The tee is a darling camo pattern with a flattering cut and open v-neck. I like the material too, it feels almost like a soft linen.

Amazon strikes again with the fun graphic tees! This one says, “Be a Nice Human” and is a tank style. I tied it in the front since it was big on me.
Tank Fit : Wearing size Small, would prefer XS. The arm holes are big, so you might want to wear a cami underneath or pretty bralette.
Stripe Top • Skinny Jeans • Miriam Wedge
You’ll love this striped top that’s equal parts soft and swingy. I’m wearing the navy, but it also comes in black and a blush color.

The same brand makes this floral halter style top. The bold floral pattern is a fun statement and the neck has a long tie in that back that would look great with your hair up.

More stripes, and I dig the cut of this one with the slightly puffed sleeves. The material is sooo soft, but the cut is also conservative and work appropriate.

We’re still soaking up every last drop of summer over here and this “sun kissed” tank is particularly appropriate! That old school style is similar to the Good Vibes tank if you missed it!
And I’m still smitten with the studded sandals! I had to rough up the bottom a bit so they wouldn’t be slippery, but the style is really cute!

I appreciate and a tee that incorporates a fun detail like these lace/crochet sleeves with tiny fringe! It’s under $12 and also comes in black or navy.

Are you still digging the cold shoulder trend? If so, you’ll like this top that shows off your shoulders and has a sweet crochet trim. It comes in several colors and got lots of great reviews on Amazon.
It’s been so hot here this summer that I barely wore jeans, but the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale got me ready for jeans and I pulled out this ripped knee fave. They are still fully in stock and 10% off right now!

Jeans Fit : Wearing my true size 25, I recommend sizing up if you’re between sizes since they don’t have much stretch. I wear a 26 on my ‘bloated’ days. I also cut the length, roughed them up with my scissors and machine washed them for a raw edge hem.
These chunky heeled sandals are awesome! They are a wear now style that will carry you well in Fall. They’re well made and modern with the wide cuff and ankle strap. I like them with dresses and skirts, but also jeans and shorts.

Ooh, this lightweight striped button down top is on sale under $20. It works with jeans, but also looks good with shorts or even a beach coverup.

These crop pants were sent to me by the brand and I’m so glad because I don’t think I would have ever ordered them, thinking I’m too short to pull them off. But, once I put them on, I ended up loving them! The waist is nice and fitted and no pockets mean no added bulk at the hips.
They feel smooth and I love them with wedges, but taller girls could probably rock them with flats.

Y’all have heard me rave about these bootcut jeans and if you don’t have them in your life, I highly recommend them! They give you legs for days and are so very comfortable. To maximize the long leg look, wear pointy toe heels with them.
Jeans Fit : Size down because they run a tad big and stretch with wear.
Y’all know I love a good military jacket for our mild Houston weather. A jacket always adds another layer of interest to your outfit, but also shields you from the elements. I was intrigued by this pink color “coral clay,” and think it’s a fun departure from the traditional army green. It would look amazing with white jeans and tan booties.
It’s very well constructed also, with a drawstring waist to help define your waist, several pockets and a zip and button closure.

DRESSES & SKIRTS
A tank dress is still on of the easiest things to throw on when you need a complete look fast. This one is from Amazon, under $20 with Prime shipping and pockets! 😉

White Tank • Polka Dot Skirt • 1.State Wedge
I love this tank! You guys have no idea the amount of white tanks I’ve tried on in search of the perfect one and I think I found it! It’s by Sugar Lips on Amazon and so very good! It’s totally opaque, holds you in without being constricting and the fabric feels silky smooth.
I like it for wearing alone or layering under tops, cardigans, jackets or dresses that need an underlayer.
Top Fit : This tank comes in one size and is fitted, so I’m not sure how it would fit on larger sizes.
If you like a maxi skirt, try this one! It’s a navy background with tiny white dots, fitted at the waist with a wide waistband and long, flowy skirt.

For a dressier option, this jacquard skirt has a textured material that looks and feels expensive, but during the NSale, it’s under $80. The skirt is fully lined could be dressed up for a fancy party, or worn with a button down top for a more conservative occasion.

PAJAMAS
Cozy Top • Joggers • Ugg Slippers
Gimme all the cozy jammies! I love me a good jogger and the gorgeous pink color grabbed me on this pair. They’re a soft jersey knit that’s perfect for sleep or just relaxing. The top is that soft fleece material we all know and love!
I did decide to keep my UGG slippers because I love how they feel inside and because of how sturdy they feel on the bottom. I have hard bamboo floors downstairs and don’t like being barefoot on them, so these slippers are perfect because they don’t slip or slide on the floors like some other slippers I’ve worn.
Jogger Fit : Wearing size XXS
I decided to keep my UGG slippers because I love how they feel inside and because of how sturdy they feel on the bottom.
