10 Mix & Match Summer Outfits (Gibson x Hi Sugarplum Collection)

We’re well into our first week of summer and I’d say it’s agreeing with us!  Yesterday, James and I spent some fun “just us” time and I’m so grateful for it! He’s always been a joy and delight and still is to this day. ♥

SUMMER OF COLOR • GIBSON X HI SUGARPLUM COLLECTION

I’m thrilled to share my blog bestie’s fabulous Summer of Color collection with Gibson that just launched this morning!  The entire collection is playful and fun and the styles are easy breezy- perfect for hot, summer days!  The fabrics, colors, and patterns are all meant for no-brainer mixing and matching so you have lots of outfit options. I’m sharing 10 summer outfits with you here today!

These pieces are available exclusively online at Nordstrom and likely to go fast, so be sure to checkout right away on your must haves!  Nothing is over $100 and most of it is reasonably priced around $50.

SIZING : The entire collection is available in a wide range of sizes from XXS Petite to 3X.

I’m 5’1, 110 pounds, 34D and wearing my true size, XSP in everything.

UNDERGARMENTS : To keep the girls in place without showing your bra straps, you’ll want a couple good alternative bra options.  Here are my tried and true picks:

Strapless Bra • Y’all know I swear by this one for keeping the girls up all day without any discomfort or pulling.  It has gripper strips inside the top and bottom edges and back and side boning for extra support.  Mine have lasted for years and I wear them often!

Racerback Bra • I’ve had this racerback bra for years as well and it’s held up so well. It’s supportive with a front closure and gorgeous lace back. Mine was originally from Target, but now I found it at Zappos for less!

Backless Bra  • As a larger chested woman (34D), I was skeptical about a backless bra, but after trying several, this one was the most useful.  It works best when the dress or top you’re wearing is more fitted and also if you’re not sweating.  It’s recommended to size up, but I found my true bra size fit best.

LIP COLOR : With all of these looks, I’m wearing this bright pink drugstore lip color in “Teenage Dream”.  It goes on matte and lasts all day.  Add a gloss if you want some shine. 😉

SARDINIA RUFFLE NECK DATE DRESS

I had to start with the beautiful and bold, red and pink date dress.  It’s one of the dressier items in the collection, perfect for a party, girls’ fancy lunch, or a night out.  The dress is fully lined, with pockets and has a flirty stand-up ruffle neck with a darling tie back.  You’ll be comfortable in it all day since the style is non-body conscious.

The dress also comes in a super chic solid black.

Style Tip : Wear your hair up to really show off that pretty ruffle neck and bow back detail.

MYKONOS RACERBACK WOVEN ROMPER

I’m crazy for the cut and pattern on this woven romper.  It’s a rackerback tank and shorts style romper with a functional drawstring waist and pockets.  The neck and length are both on the modest side and there’s a keyhole cutout in the back.

HYDRA LINEN SHORTS & IBIZA ONE SHOULDER RUFFLE TOP

These are my favorite bottoms in the collection!  They easily pull on and I love the length (not too short and not too long).  They’re extra comfy with the wide elastic waistband and functional drawstring.  Even better, they have pockets that lay nice and flat and don’t add any bulk.

The white is crisp and bright, but not see through! I’ll be wearing these all summer long to run around in, out to the pool, but also to lounge around the house in.

Even though it’s the Summer of Color collection, of course I gravitated towards the neutrals in the collection.  The Ibizia one-shoulder top has a comfortable elastic around the top that stays put to easily and confidently pull off that one-shoulder look.

MILOS WIDE LEG PAPER BAG PANTS & PAROS SOFT HENLEY TANK

If you love the comfort of a palazzo pant, you’ll be all over these striped babies!  They have a breezy fit, paper bag waist, tie belt and pockets!  You can wear them with the tank like I’ve done here, or pair them with the Button Up Striped Top.

The pants also make a great cover up option for throwing on over your swimsuit. They also come in a blue palm patter that is ideal for your summer activities!

CAVALLO BUTTON UP STRIPED TOP & HYDRA LINEN SHORTS

This breezy top will be super versatile in your summer wardrobe.  Wear it with the Hydra Shorts, Wide Leg Paper Bag Pants, jean shorts, jeans and also tucked in, knotted or left undone as a swim coverup.   I’m crazy for the deep aqua hue, and it also comes in a fun floral print.

MALTA SQUARE NECK RUFFLE SLEEVE TEE • MENORCA PAPER BAG SHORT

Consider the Menorca Paper Bag Shorts as the big sister to the Hydra Shorts, they’re a bit longer with coordinating tie belt and come in more colors like this super punchy red.

The square neck and ruffle sleeves on the Malta tee elevate this top from basic to chic.  I adore the pink and red stripe combo, but it also comes in black/white and blue/white.

SICILY EMBROIDERED RACERBACK DRESS

This is the dress you’ll be reaching for over and over this summer because it is pajama soft and so easy to pull on.  They left the pockets off of this one to ensure a smooth fit through the hips.  The fun part is the V cut of the shoulder straps and darling embroidery on the back.  I loved it so much that I got it in three colors!

SANTORINI ADJUSTABLE STRAP MAXI DRESS

I’ll be honest, I wasn’t sure I’d be able to pull off this dress because it’s one you can’t wear a bra with, but thankfully, the adjustable straps made it a winner.  There are three button holes that let you adjust the straps to your perfect fit, so when I tightened it, I felt more secure and the girls were held in place.

It’s fully lined with an easy, breezy crinkle material.  The top has a deep v that’s more fitted, then draws in at the waist and the skirt flows from your body.  I also love that this one has pockets!
