June Loves

Good morning friends!  We’re onto Day 2 of camp and so far, so good!  I’m lucky to be sharing carpool duties with Ali-Shaun and Jamie and that makes things so much easier.  And of course, I do appreciate a little bit of a routine, it helps our days flow better.

JUNE LOVES

Today, it’s time for a new Monthly Loves. If you’re new to Loves, it’s where I share things I’m loving each month, with the aim to highlight fabulous things I swear by, some things I want to try, great deals, and under $50 finds!  All perfectly appropriate for the flavor of each month!  I love sourcing goodies and putting these collages together for you!

GOODR SUNGLASSES

Ali-Shaun has been raving about these sunnies for months and urging me to get them and I finally did!  She’s right, they’re so good.

The special thing about them is their special grip coating that makes them slip proof!  That means they’re perfect for running or wearing to the pool.  They’re also polarized and block 100% of UVA & UVB rays.

WHITE PULL ON SHORTS

In last week’s 10 Mix & Match Summer Outfits post, I shared these white pull-on shorts and they are definitely a love! They easily pull on and I love the length (not too short and not too long).  They’re extra comfy with the wide elastic waistband and functional drawstring.  Even better, they have pockets that lay nice and flat and don’t add any bulk.

The white is crisp and bright, but not see through! I’ll be wearing these all summer long to run around in, out to the pool, but also to lounge around the house in.

STUD SLIDE SANDAL

I feel like such a cool Mom in these stud sandals.  I especially like them in the white/silver studs, but they also come in black and tan.  They are well made and easy to walk in.

BLACK SUN HAT

This hat has made it to Loves status in the tan with black ribbon, but I’m equally smitten with the black on black.  It’s ultra chic!  I love it because the shape is perfect, you can mash it/get it wet and it retains it’s shape (doesn’t shrink), shields your face from the sun and is only $16!  Oh, did I mention it’s adjustable?!  There’s a little string inside that you can loosen or tighten to get a perfect fit!

WHITE SLIP DRESS

The white dress is so sweet for Spring and Summer! It’s light and airy and comes with the slip so you can’t see through it.  And, it’s under $30! I’m wearing a size Small, and probably could have gone with an XS.

WHITE TIE FRONT SHIRT

The great thing about this classic white button down top is that it’s cut with longer, slim front pieces that are specifically designed to be tied so you don’t end up with a bulky tied top. Isn’t that genius?!  I like it with the skirt below, but it would also be cute with jeans and shorts.

1.STATE WEDGES

These wedges have been my go-to since Spring.  They are so comfortable with a cushioned footbed, but I also love the design and textured wedge.  The tan go with everything and now I want the black pair.  They fit TTS.

And great news! Thanks to a savvy reader, we can now get these wedges for $44 less!

APPLE WATCH

I don’t have this watch yet but I’m very interested in getting it!  I’ve seen y’all posting your when you were tagging me in the #move20for30challenge and it’s made me want one.  I borrowed Shannon’s for this pic and asked her why she loves hers:

Shannon says :

I like that I can get my notifications for things on my wrist and not have to have my phone on me all the time. Especially when I’m doing stuff with the kids or if my phone is at the bottom of a tote bag. You can voice text or “draw” a response out or respond with just an emoji.
I use it mostly for tracking my fitness. It tracks workouts, heart rate, calories burned everyday. It also can remind you to stand up once an hour and move around which is great on days when I’m just working at the computer all day! You can share your fitness info with friends and compete – which is fun too.
I don’t often answer my phone on it – but you can. And you look like a spy talking into your wrist watch 😉

1 2 3 MAGIC

I have to give a shout out to this book I’m rereading now.  I originally read it when James was about 2 years old and it worked like a charm, and now I’m rereading it for Jordan.   The premise of the book is that you count to discourage unwanted/annoying behavior like tantrums and meltdowns, whining and pouting, talking back, sibling rivalry and more in toddlers, preschoolers and middle schoolers.  And it also encourages good behavior like how to create positive routines like bedtime and homework.

The good thing is that it eliminates the negotiating, begging, reasoning and simplifies the whole discipline process before you get a chance to lose your sh*t.

Jordan is more resistant to this than James was, but it’s still working really well with her.  I already feel like our days are running way more smoothly.

FAKE BAKE SELF TANNER

My professional spray tans have been replaced with this easy spray-on tan I can do at home in 10 minutes.  It sprays on easily in a dark mist so you can see where it is.  You definitely want to use a mitt to rub the spray in so you get an even tan and don’t stain your palms.

There’s a light tropical scent, it dries quickly and your tan develops over the next 4 hours.

This spray tan is what I used when we went to Lost Pines.  It looks so natural!

That’s it for today! I hope this post is useful for you and you found a few new things to try.  What are you loving this month?!  If you have an Apple watch, I’d love to hear your thoughts on it!

  1. I have an android phone and got myself a similar device to the Apple watch. I love it! It is really useful when my phone is in my purse and I am in a busy area and I don’t hear the ringing 🙂 my wrist will vibrate and no more missed calls!

  2. 100% on the Apple Watch! I’ve tried Polar and various fit bits but prefer Apple. Some of the others are better as pure fitness trackers but I love the overall functionality of Apple. Reading texts, getting directions, changing music and volume, all on my wrist, it’s just so convenient. Enjoy your summer!

  3. Have you used the tanner on your stomach area? My stomach is so white…scared to wear a bikini! ha ha

  4. Say yes to the Apple Watch! I got one at the beginning of January and I love it! It’s a great way to see who is calling or texting. I replaced my Fitbit with it!

  5. Love, Love, LOVE my apple watch! Mostly use it for fitness tracking but also just use as a watch and will set timers and voice text on it (sometimes). You can also get really fun, inexpensive (Amazon) band replacements to change the look of it when you want. I think you’d absolutely love it, too.

  6. I agree with all the others on the Apple Watch. I also have all my store reward cards loaded on Wallet and they are easy to access on my watch without keeping all the cards on me. I also connected my credit card and use my watch wherever possible to pay for stuff. Guy in line behind me at the grocery store thought I was super cool and futuristic when I used it last week. LOL

  7. One more thing about the watch. 🙂 I wear it just like you show in your photo and I think that’s the best for a couple reasons. One, the buttons are easier to push with my thumb when they are on the left, and the big button is less likely to get pushed accidentally than it would if it were facing my wrist (from weight lifting to normal chores where my wrist might be extended back).

  8. I loved that white dress so much I ended up ordering a few others in that brand – a new-to-me Target brand. LOVE! Thanks so much for sharing some Target love, it’s my summer go-to for dresses but I sometimes get lost in all the choices.
