This & That

Hi friends! Welcome to a fresh, new week and our Spring Break!  We’ve already had a really nice weekend with no sports to rush to and just going with the flow!  Aren’t those weekends so nice?!

Last week, we went on a school field trip to Trinity Bay where the kids got to explore and learn about the bay. I think they were most excited about riding on the bus and eating lunch though! Ha!

field trip

It was drizzly, windy and ended up being cold without the sun.

Hunter rainboots and North Face Jacket

Style Tip : I buy the kids Hunter boots!  They actually fit me better and are less expensive!  Just subtract 2 from your normal size!  I’m a size 6 womens, so I buy size 4 kids.  I wear these all the time and they are my favorite for muddy ball fields!

We went to our first Houston Dynamo game and it was so fun!  I loved it because it was easy to park and walk to, wasn’t too crowded, the seats were good and relatively inexpensive.  Also, the game kept our attention and it’s only 2 45-minute periods with a 15 minute break.  We’ll definitely be back!

Stadium Approved Crossbody Bag • Sunnies • Leopard Slip On Sneakers

I brought my clear crossbody bag because I’ve been in the unfortunate position of having to empty my purse into a ziplock before. This thing is so handy and super cute with the leopard trim.

Shipley Donuts

Print Pullover • Similar Jeans • Sunnies • Miller Sandals • Bag

Weekends usually involve Shipley’s Donuts!  James gets cherry with sprinkles and Jordan loves to eat the chocolate icing off of hers.  One of the little things I will always remember about their childhood:)

Chicken salad with spiced chickpeas

And for now, I’m off the Get Fit Done Guide, but will get back to it and start the 7-Day Reset next Monday.  I know I’m gonna feel like doing a giant body detox after all the yummy food and drinks this week!

I did the Reset Saturday workout this weekend, then played a couple of fierce soccer games with James and I consider those a workout!

UPDATE ON JORDAN’S ROOM

I’m making progress on Jordan’s big girl room a little at a time.  The major change was transitioning her from a crib to a big girl bed.  She’s done so well with it and loves it so much!

I’m planning on keeping the paint the same for now, but adding in more pink tones.  I got her a Peppa Pig duvet, but it ended up being too small for her bed, so I found a pink gingham duvet cover to replace it with.  It’s darling with the pintuck detail, super soft fabric, and really well made.  It also comes with the two matching pillowcases. Little Girl's Room Pottery Barn Bed and Pink Rug

Then, I added in a rug with a mix of pink, orange, light blue.  I thought the tan part was going to be a lighter creamy shade, but I’m okay with it as is. It’s so hard to tell from photos when you order online.

The rug is a bit more vibrant than the photos on the store’s website.  I tried to capture what they really look like with my camera, but I’ll also share on Stories and maybe that will help you see what it looks like in person.

I still want her to get her Peppa Pig in there, so I’m thinking of a big Peppa Pig decal for the wall adjacent to her bed, and then maybe moving the mirror over her bed.

And I also starting looking at different art on the Minted site.  They have such darling pieces for kids!  Actually, so many that I think it’s easiest to create an account so you can just “heart” and save the ones you like to a folder and review them later.  I’ve got about 10 in my saved folder right now!

PACKING FOR SPRING BREAK

And now I’ll be packing us up for a mini trip to San Antonio!  I’m super excited to get away for a few days with some of our close friends. It’s been chilly and rainy here lately, so I’m hoping the forecast for low 70s and the rain stays away so we can swim and play on water slides!

I’ll be bringing casual outfits and of course, a couple of swimsuits and coverups.

This sarong is so cute with the fringe hem and you can wear it a few different ways.

I also love this fedora from my last Amazon post.  It’s a great petite size, breathable and you can smush it and it pops back into shape!

And isn’t this crochet cover up pretty?!  I like how easy it is to throw on and there’s a sweet lace up detail on the side.  It will also travel really well.

Cupshe swimsuit

Swimsuit

This one piece swimsuit from my very first Amazon post is still going strong and I love wearing it when I know I’ll be splashing around and carrying Jordan.  It’s darling on with the adorable pattern, but also on the modest side and stays put!

SUIT FIT : I size up in swimwear, so I wear Size Small.  The straps are adjustable and it also has removable cups.

Toddler Rash Guard Set

Jordan outgrew her swimsuit from last year, so I picked her up a new one from Target.  They always have cute styles and I still like the rashguard style for her for when we’re planning on being in the sun for a long time.

  1. Thanks so much for the tip on the Hunter boots! I’ve been so sad that the 6 in women’s is a tad to tight & I literally swim in a 7! I’ll be trying out some kid sizes now. 😉 Ordered the little stadium bag-sooo cute!

  2. Those packing cubes are too cute! Ever since my suitcase was a wreck on our last trip, I’ve been planning to purchase some and I just might have to pull the trigger on those!
