Our Christmas Decor
Good morning friends! Can you believe we’re already into December?! Only 2o days ’til Christmas!! We got a late start on our Christmas decor this year (by blogger standards;), but that’s okay because I went with a much simpler approach this year. Before putting out our decor, I went through all the bins and donated several things and kept the stair garland in the bin for another year.
For the last few years, I’ve enjoyed putting our tree up before Thanksgiving, but this year, when we went to put up the tree, there was no tree there! We forgot that we donated last year’s tree that had bit the dust, so we had to buy a new one. So, I searched online and was really happy with the one we ultimately chose, AND it was supposed to arrive the Wednesday before Thanksgiving. But, on Thanksgiving, it still wasn’t there. So, I went back to the website, and there my tree was, still sitting in my cart! Am I seriously losing my mind?!
Needless to say, I finally got my act together and we’re so happy with how this 9 foot flocked tree turned out, especially since I only saw it online before ordering.

James was so proud that he was strong enough to assemble the tree mostly by himself! The flocking did make a bit of mess on the floor as the tree went up, but not that bad!
We kept the decor pretty easy with red balls, candy striped balls, plaid and gold ribbon, mixed berries and my favorite icicle ornaments.
Jordan is definitely very taken by the tree and declared it, “the most beautiful tree ever!”
She has several Christmas pajamas, but wouldn’t ya know it, she loves her hand-me-down Daniel Tiger Trolley pj’s the best! 😉 Thanks cuz!
In the entryway, we gathered all of our nutcrackers and put them on display in front of the mirror on our console table. We started collecting these a few years ago and buy a new one each year.

I loved adding berries into this blue and white vase and we also have real berries in a gold vase in the living room. You can pick those up at your grocery store for a few dollars.

On our breakfast table, we have the centerpiece I picked up at our Nutcracker Market a few years ago and I did a simple place setting with kid friendly placemats and plaid plates.
In the kitchen, I hung a wreath on our hood and it’s hanging on a clear plastic suction cup wreath hanger. Those things are genius and you can use them to hang wreaths on your mirrors too.
The tree I’ve had in Jordan’s room the last two years, we put in our bedroom this year. I’m so crazy about this little flocked tree that came in the tin bucket.

I added a couple of decor elements to the built in shelving too.
Aside from the new Christmas tree, the only other Christmas decor I bought this year is this white wreath. I think it looks so pretty in here!
Jordan’s room got the rose gold Christmas tree that was previously in my office. By simply moving things around this year, the decor looks fresh, even though we’ve had it for awhile. I let her decorate the tree how she want and didn’t really make any adjustments to it.

She didn’t even put all the ornaments on it, preferring to play with them as opposed to hanging them on the tree!
She’s also a snowman thief.
She loves to take these little guys on sled rides!
I’ve been all about keeping things easy this year, but I still love having the festive touches here and there. Have you finished decorating yet?

Beautiful decorations! We’re getting our first real tree ever this year (it’s pretty common in Austria, where I live), but we’ll wait another week or so before buying one so that it doesn’t dry out before Christmas.
Yeah, you do have to make sure they stay watered!
She is so cute! Happy my kids are past that age, but love to see your photos and hear the stories. ?
I love how excited Jordan is over everything! Such a happy time!
Everything looks beautiful!
Thanks so much Rachel! Happy holidays!
Very pretty! Where did you find the cute bows on your stairway?
Hmm, I think I got those at Pier One Imports last year.
I love your red and white tree! I simplified some this year as well. Maybe it’s a Texas thing this year (I’m in DFW area).

Most of my Christmas decor is up. I’m loving your red & white tree!
Thanks so much Olga!
Love the way you did the ribbon on your tree- so pretty! And that Jordan… she is a CUTIE!! She’s looking so grown up!
I can’t believe she’s almost 3! Her birthday is in February!
I loooove the cute pink nutcrackers!
Aren’t those cute?! I got them originally for Jordan’s room!
Oh my goodness….it’s all so gorgeous!! Love the different trees, and little touches of stems everywhere! We went red on our main tree this year, too, and I love it! I couldn’t get the wreath to stay over our stove though…what’s your trick?!
Hi mama! I used the plastic suction cup hanger! I’ll come over and show you! 😉
Your Christmas décor is beautiful, I love the Nutcrackers! As always Jordan is the cutest and I enjoy seeing her in your photos! 🙂
I love seeing your decor….so lovely!
Beautiful decorations, and your daughter is so precious. Where is the blue and white vase from? The link brings you to boots. 🙂 Thanks!
Thanks so much Tara! I think I got that at Homegoods and tried to find something similar;)
