AMAZON FASHION HAUL
Today is the last Amazon clothing try-on session of the year! I started doing them in August and they have quickly become a reader fave. It’s a labor of love searching the Amazon site and finding nuggets of goodness I can recommend to you. There are often lots of misses that never make it to the blog, but this time, almost everything was a hit!
*For full transparency, I use affiliate links in these posts, which allows me to see what you’re interested in and helps me create future relevant posts. I also earn a small commission if you make a purchase through my link. But, if you use an app to check out (like the Amazon app or Nordstrom app), I can’t see what you liked and it also cancels the commission. If my posts are helpful to you, consider skipping the app and click through to the retailer using my links. I appreciate you so much! ♥
For Size Reference: I’m a shorty (5’1) and petite, athletic build (bigger legs), weighing about 110 and wear a 34D bra. I typically wear size 0p/25 jeans, XSP in tops and dresses. Lots of times the smallest size on Amazon is a Small, so in that case, that’s what I ordered.
Okay, now onto the fun stuff. Let’s jump into this Amazon clothing haul! AND, see a LIVE try-on saved to my Instagram Story Highlights!
There’s no shortage of cute vests in this post!
When you want something a little dressier than a typical puffer, this herringbone patterned vest is a great option. The contrasting piping, gold zipper and pockets kick it up a notch. You could definitely wear this one to work and be perfectly appropriate and it’s also cute with a pop of color underneath.
Vest Fit : This vest fits TTS, I’m wearing XS
I’m always on the hunt for good quality t-shirts because I wear them so often. This one checks all the boxes with a flattering v-neck, thick/stretchy fabric, and even the white is opaque. They come in a pack of two for only $16!
Top Fit: The tops fit TTS, I’m wearing a Small
I cannot get enough of these cozy soft fleece vests! They are the perfect layering piece when you want to feel warm, but don’t need a full coat. It’s ultra cozy and comes in 4 colors.
Vest Fit: The tops fit TTS, I’m wearing a Small
I was skeptical about ordering a faux fur vest from Amazon, but I was definitely pleasantly surprised by this one. It looks and feels way more expensive than it is- only $37! You’ll be extra chic in this for a party, date night or girl’s night out. It doesn’t have pockets, but does come with hook and eye closures in the front if you want to close it up.
Vest Fit: The tops fit TTS, I’m wearing a “Medium”, but I think it’s actually a One Size only.
Long Sleeve Tee Fit : This top runs small, so size up
For weekends and casual errands, throwing on a puffer vest over your top is the easiest way to be both warm and stylish. I’m not sure how well the color translates on your screen, but this shade is a gorgeous blush pink. This vest is packable and folds up into a tiny pouch you can throw into your bag for traveling.
Vest Fit: The vest fit TTS, I’m wearing an XS
This cardigan is a huge hit with me. I like the drop sleeve, casual style and the nice quality of the cable knit stitch fabric. It’s slightly balloon style, but not overwhelming and of course, I’m crazy for the neutral grey color.
Cardigan Fit: The cardigan fit TTS, I’m wearing a Small
If you prefer a pop of color, this is the same cardigan in a bold red!
I’m so happy to have found a quality military jacket to recommend to you! If you’re looking for an awesome packable puffer coat or mid-thigh warm puffer, they’re in my last Amazon post!
I’m so happy to have found a quality military jacket to recommend to you! This one is as good as one you’d find at a department store with nice detailing and pockets. You can also cinch the drawstring waist to create an hourglass shape. It’s on the lightweight side, perfect for mild weather.
Jacket Fit : This jacket runs small, I recommend sizing up one, especially if you plan to wear a chunky layer underneath.
Now onto tops and sweaters, and I found several great ones!
I don’t know what it is about a striped pullover, but I can never resist. During the cold months, this is exactly the type of outfit I like to wear at home because I feel comfortable and put together at the same time. Did you notice the single grey stripe mixed in with the white?! 😉 It also comes in grey/white and a cheerful mixed striped color.
Sweater Fit : This sweater runs small, so size up. I’m wearing a Small.
A simple grey v-neck pullover is another one I can’t resist. I liked the slouchy, relaxed fit on this one and could also see wearing it in the summer with jean shorts.
Pullover Fit : It fits TTS, I’m wearing a Small
How about the mix of colors in this sweater?! Pink, grey and white? Yes, please! The mock neck isn’t constricting and the sweater is a thin, waffle knit texture. It would also look great with grey/white or black jeans.
Sweater Fit : It fits TTS, I’m wearing a Small
This pink cable knit sweater was one of my faves from this post. The color is pretty and feminine, flattering every skin tone, and the cowl neck is loose so I didn’t feel like I was choking. I can’t wait to wear this soon!
Sweater Fit : It fits TTS, I’m wearing a Small
You can’t go wrong with a plaid button down top, especially this time of year. I liked the fit and feel on this one, as well as the contrasting black and white pattern. It would be really cute under a puffer vest or sweater when you want to layer up.
Top Fit : It fits TTS, I’m wearing an XS
Now let’s talk one of my favorite categories – athleisure! I found two winning tops and a jogger that’s almost perfect!
This hooded pullover that is incredibly well made and warm without being bulky. I’d wear it running on a cold day and not freeze to death. It has thumbholes and a hidden zip side pocket for your keys and other small necessities.
Hoodie Fit : Runs small, so size up. I’m wearing a Small.
The pink pullover is a quarter zip and more lightweight with pockets. It’s not as thick as the hoodie so it’s not as warm, but better for indoors or running around in mild weather.
Pullover Fit : Fits TTS, I’m wearing a Small
Like the t-shirts, I’m always on the hunt for quality tanks because I wear them alone in the summer, over sports bras to workout and as layering pieces. My tanks have to be high quality because they get a lot of use! These are perfectly stretchy and long, and come in a pack of two for only $15!
Tank Fit : They run small (European Sizing), I’m in a size Small, so I’d size up.
I liked almost everything about these joggers. First, the plusses- they are thick and cozy and warm with a stretchy, comfortable elastic tie waist. You can wear them lounging around inside, but they’re also thick enough to run errands in. I also like that they have pockets, but the down side is that the pockets hang so low. Inside the jogger, they hit me at mid-thigh, which felt weird to me, but I still wanted you to see them in case that wouldn’t bother you.
Jogger Fit : These fit TTS and are meant to fit close to the body, so if you want more room, I’d size up. I’m wearing XS.
I’ve been pleasantly surprised at the selection of dresses on Amazon. In this order, I had two I didn’t care for, so I left them out, but these three were all hits!
If it’s cold in your city or you prefer to keep your arms covered, this 3/4 sleeve dress will work for you. The top part feels like a heavy weight t-shirt and the skirt nude with a lace overlay. The satin tie belt dresses it up and you could tie it in a variety of ways to suit your mood. The high neckline on this dress would also make a nice backdrop for a pretty statement necklace.
Dress Fit : This dress fits TTS, I’m wearing a size Small but an XS would fit me better.
I also have to stop here and RAVE about these classic pumps! Seriously, if you need a new pair of classic, pointy toe shoes, GET THESE! They aren’t from Amazon, but they are 50% off now, so you’ll get a great deal. They are a luxurious, rich suede with a padded footbed that makes them so comfortable. The style is so classic and pretty, they are the heel I’ve been reaching for ever since I first got them months ago!
This dress will suit you all year long. It’s conservatively cut, but not at all boring with the crochet lace overlay and detail at the waist, chest and elbow. The slight bell sleeves are a fun twist and it’s fully lined so you can wear a regular bra with it. It’s only $43 with FREE Prime shipping and comes in other colors.
Dress Fit : This dress fits TTS, I’m wearing a size Small but an XS would fit me best.
If you need a long gown for a fancy event, wedding or gala, give this one a try! It’s obviously too long on me, but I bet it could be altered. The fabric felt silky smooth on and I loved the asymmetric neck. The deep V back is also gorgeous! You can wear a regular bra with it, if you pull the back down a bit. It’s gotten over 1,000 positive reviews and is only $39 with FREE prime shipping!
Dress Fit : This dress runs small, I’m in a Small and it fits everywhere but the length.
I have a few more goodies to show you, all making great gifts with FREE Prime Shipping so you’ll get it before Christmas!
Who doesn’t need a stylish tote for weekend, gym or travel? This one is a sturdy canvas with a detachable shoulder strap and also fits nicely over the handle of your carryon. It’s fully lined with a shallow divided pocket and a deeper zippered inside pocket. It will definitely hold a ton of stuff at 16 x 12 x 8 inches. It also comes with a 100% lifetime money back guarantee and tons of positive reviews. Bonus, it’s under $40!
I can’t believe I haven’t shown you these slippers before! They happily arrived on the day of our Favorite Things party, so I got to wear them that night! At first, I thought they were too small, but I’m glad I kept them because they stretched a little with wear and now they’re perfect! They come in several colors for under $20!
Please ignore the creepy photo, but I wanted to show you what these gloves look like on and the textured finger part (on both hands) that allow you to use your phone while wearing the gloves!
Oh heck YES! Gloves that will keep your hands warm and still let you use your phone! These genius gloves have a touch screen first finger and thumb that lets you type on your phone without subjecting your fingers to the elements. I wish I had these in Colorado when I wanted to take pics and videos of the kids! Instead, I kept having to take my gloves off every time I wanted to use my phone and my fingers were freezing!
They are under $10 and have gotten over 1,500 positive reviews!
YOUR AMAZON FAVES OF 2018
I was going back through YOUR Amazon faves of this year, and here’s what you loved:
Decorative Cup Warmer • I use this one everyday and like it so much that I bought a second one! I keep one on my desk (coffee) and one on my nightstand (tea).
Softest Sheets • These are 100% highest quality brushed microfiber 1800 (suuuper soft!) and are wrinkle, fade and stain resistant. I just pull them out of the dryer after machine washing them and they’re perfectly smooth.
Closet Storage Rack for Ties • I use these tie and belt organizer racks for hanging my scarves. Keeps them wrinkle and tangle free – and it’s strong- holds 14 scarves on one hanger!
Mini Steamer • How did I live this long without a steamer?! Especially as a blogger!! This steamer got the wrinkles out quickly and easily without damaging the clothes.
Everything Bagel Seasoning • I’ve been putting this on everything – salads, eggs, meats, whatever! It’s one of the things you can order from Trader Joe’s online. I know a lot of you don’t have one and ours isn’t convenient to get to so having it available at Amazon is super helpful. I’ve heard the 21 Seasoning Salute is delicious too.
Lip Treatment • This is super soothing and moisturizing, but doesn’t later dry out your lips. The smell is divine, there’s no weird flavor to it, and the tube lasts a long time! I keep a tube in my bathroom drawer and put it on after I brush my teeth in the morning and at night. But you can wear it any time and all day long! Try it and thank me later!
Melatonin • When asking what you guys do to get more sleep, I was told you take Melatonin or this gummy that has melatonin in it. Y’all like it so much I got lots of screenshots of it and now I’m hooked too. I like to take one about an hour or 2 before bed to help me unwind and then I fall asleep much faster when I get in bed and don’t wake up groggy.
Miracle Morning • I did a whole post on my Miracle Morning and it really resonated with you! The goal is to wake up each day with more energy, motivation and focus to take your life to the next level. This book lays out all the steps in a quick, easy to read format.
Stick Vac • This Dyson stick vacuum has changed my life this year! Before getting this lightweight, cordless baby, I was lugging out the big vacuum to clean up our daily masses. I use this thing every.single.day, sometimes twice a day, and even vacuum the stairs and my car with it! My kids even enjoy using it!
Keratin Healing Oil • I use this deep conditioning hair mask once or twice a month. It’s definitely made a big difference in the texture of my hair, making it smooth and less frizzy.
Okay guys, I think I have sufficiently fueled you with lots of good shopping ideas! Go forth and spend wisely!
See you tomorrow with my Prepping for Christmas post!
