Hi friends! Are you getting into the groove of the week? That first day back at it after a long weekend can be rough. My Mom did ALL her Christmas shopping yesterday #jealous and I got a few things checked off my list too! It feels good to start getting some things accomplished! But, I’m also fighting a terrible cold, so I really need to get better quick. Ain’t no one got time to be sick during the holidays! I just want to feel better and enjoy them!
Today, I have what I hope is a fun and useful style post for you! I’ve been smitten with the patterned bootie trend (specifically leopard and snakeskin) but was frankly a little puzzled how to pull it off. After a bit of trial and error, I found two great causal looks for your snakeskin booties. If you don’t have a pair yet, maybe after this post you’ll be wanting a pair of your own. Let me know what you think after you see the outfits!
HOW TO STYLE SNAKESKIN BOOTIES
This first outfit is for all my neutral loving friends. It’s an easy-to-wear look, but feels a little bit dressy with the soft, drapey jacket.
Truth be told, weather permitting, I live in jean shorts and flip flops, so I don’t often feel very stylish. BUT, you can’t help but feel so EXTRA when you put on a snakeskin bootie!! Now we’re talkin’! And good news, they’re 30% off now!
If you feel like the snakeskin too much, they also come in solid colors.
These booties are fierce and add so much personality to your outfit. This pair has a beautiful pattern, slightly rounded/softly pointed toe and a chic heel. They zip on the side so they’re easy to slip on and off and I happen to love the front v-cut that elongates the look of your legs.

But what do you wear with them?
Let’s start with the bottoms, because I think that’s the hardest part. If you opt for jeans, do you tuck them into your boots? (you can), wear them over the boots? (not unless they’re bootcut jeans), cuff them so some ankle shows (yes, that’s what I like best)!
I’m wearing the ultra comfortable and flattering Wit & Wisdom jeans that Ali-Shaun and I were both crazy for. They look amazing on all shapes and give you that extra bit of confidence knowing you look good from all angles.
JEANS FIT : TTS, I’m wearing 0P
My drapey jacket was a score from the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale that I’m finally getting to wear. It’s so soft and drapes beautifully, but still has a slightly structured look to it. Bonus: it’s on sale again now!
You can let the jacket drape open casually, or use the button at the top to wear it closed. I prefer it open and worn with this white stretch cami. It’s a wardrobe staple that layers perfectly under jackets and cardigans or whenever you need another layer underneath (like when your neckline is too low).
Tank Fit : It runs small so size up one.
Okay, so that’s look #1, let me show you look #2.

Our second outfit is even more casual with a chic cable knit sweater, but also features a fun pop of red in the bag and on the lips.

Boyfriend jeans look so good with booties like this because they are a little looser on the leg, so they balance out the proportion of foot and leg. For petites, a slim boyfriend jean won’t overwhelm your frame like the baggier styles.

The rips and distressing is a fantastic contrast to the sassy boots. I’m also crazy for this grey v-neck sweater. It’s on the short side, but still long enough to do a little front tuck. The sweater also comes in an olive color and both would look good with these booties.
Sweater Fit : TTS, I’m wearing XXS
If you want to try a red lip, you can’t go wrong with Brave Red. It looks amazing on every skin tone and if you feel self conscious at first, just keep your eye makeup more neutral so they don’t compete.
So what do you think? Do you like the snakeskin boots or prefer a solid color? Did you prefer one outfit over another? If you have something your want to wear but are stumped about, leave a comment and maybe I can do a future “Style a Reader” post around it! That would be fun!
