Good morning! How’s your week going? I’ve been quite literally buried under mounds of clothes preparing for tonight’s Project One Way at Sugar Land Town Square! It’s a one woman fashion show where I layer on all the clothes and then shed them artfully to show off the new Fall fashions and trends. I’ve been rehearsing up a storm and can’t wait for the show! If you are in the Houston/Sugar Land area, I’d love to see you there. It’s gonna be so fun and they moved the event inside since our weather is looking to be a little rainy.
But now let’s talk about how to wear boyfriend jeans!
Today we’re trading in our skinny jeans for the oh-so comfy and stylish boyfriend jeans. The cool thing about boyfriend jeans is that they are quite forgiving and easy to wear, because they are fitted at the waist, but more relaxed through the legs. You can create different looks by wearing them down, cuffing or folding, depending on the look you’re going for.
I prefer a slim boyfriend jean as opposed to one that’s super baggy because it still looks put together and not sloppy. I chose this style called the Emma Slim Boyfriend jean.
FIT: They are mid-rise with a nice, light wash and slight whiskering and fading. They fit TTS (although they are a bit long), I’m wearing 25.
I ordered them at Bloomingdale’s and really appreciate how easy their site is to navigate with large images and ‘hearts’ that you can click to add to your Wish List for later.
Bloomingdale’s has FREE shipping and FREE returns for Loyalists with no minimum purchase. I’ve been a Loyalist for years and I get reward points and credits for shopping. You can enroll here at no cost to you!
BOYFRIEND JEANS | NIGHT
My ‘go to’ look for a girls night out or date night is jeans, heels and a sassy top. It’s quite effortless, but with the right proportions, it really packs a punch.
I’m crazy for this cold shoulder, chiffon number. It feels beautiful on, but isn’t revealing. The front part is lined and not see-through. In fact, it’s quite modest with the flowy shape, but showing off your shoulders is so elegant. I did a mini front tuck to elongate the look of my short legs. Major bonus, it’s on sale right now! Was $79, on sale for $35.
STYLE TIP: To make the boyfriend jeans look more sleek, wear them smartly tailored right at your ankle. Because mine are a tad long and I haven’t had time to alter them yet, I tucked the hem under.
Of course, you can’t go wrong with a classic pointy toe black heel. Not only do they make your legs look longer, they are just sexy!
And a pop of leopard is always a good idea- especially with jeans and a black top and black heels. It gives your outfit added interest with that fun pattern.

BOYFRIEND JEANS | CUTE FALL OUTFIT
It’s probably been 20 years since I’ve worn a crop top, but the style is popping up everywhere lately, so I gave it a try. I think I like it! It only shows a little bit of midriff, so it’s not too exposed. And, keep in mind, if your chest is smaller, it will be longer.
This crop top is a thin ribbed sweater style, perfect for Fall. It’s also got a darling keyhole back that’s pretty cute!
STYLE TIP: I rolled these jeans under, then flipped the hem up to make them shorter and give them a cuffed look without exposing the seam.
I like this outfit for a dressier day look or a night out. The peep toe booties have a chunkier heel, so they’re really easy to walk in and the peep toe are great for both night and day and when the weather is still mild.

BOYFRIEND JEANS | DAY
My favorite BASIC weekend outfit is a cute v-neck tee, jeans and sneaks. I chose this grey tee because I’m so fond of that color (crisp white is nice, but not that practical if you have a two-year old in tow). The fabric on this tee is soft and stretchy and feels really chic on.
I did a little front tuck to elongate the look of my legs. Us shorties need all the help we can get!
I particularly like wearing boyfriend jeans with sneaks because if you wear skinny jeans with sneakers, sometimes it makes your feet look disproportionately large. The more relaxed style boyfriend jean tends to balance out a heavier shoe better than a skinny jean.
You’ll notice I casually cuffed and rolled the hem on this jean so that it’s looks relaxed and a bit of ankle shows.
