Three Fabulous Work Outfits with a Pop of Leopard

Starting working at 16, I’ve had my fair share of interesting jobs.  I started at Dandy’s Car Wash, washing, vacuuming, and armor-alling cars after school and on weekends.  I loved earning my own money for the first time in my life, but my nails were a mess!  While still in high school, I worked at a flower shop arranging floral bouquets; a dental office, Famous Footwear, and TJ Maxx.

During college, I realized I could make a lot more money (in a shorter amount of time!) waitressing and bartending and that’s what I did to put myself through school. When I continued onto law school, of course, I was excited about the work I would do, but I’d be lying if said I wasn’t looking forward to dressing the part. I would daydream about the ‘grown up’ professional outfits and heels I would get to wear as a lawyer.

At the law offices I worked at, the wonderful women from secretaries to paralegals and other lawyers I worked with always looked fabulous.  We had fun seeing what each other was wearing each day and complimenting each other.  “Oh girl, those shoes are fierce!”  Or, “I love that dress on you!” It was a bright spot in the mornings, amongst the often stressful and demanding work for all of us.

Now that I blog full time, most of my professional wear has been traded for jeans and cute top, but I know for many of you, you still need outfits you can wear in a dressy office environment. I’m partnering with Ann Taylor today to show you some amazing and quality pieces that will fit in perfectly at work and beyond.

And because it’s Fall, and I’m smitten with leopard in a big way, I’m showing you how you can incorporate the fun pattern in your work outfits.  And bonus, Ann Taylor is having a huge 40% off sale now, so you definitely want to take advantage of that!

For size reference: I’m petite, about 5’1, 110 pounds.  The sizing at Ann Taylor is pretty much the same as at Loft, so I’m wearing all XSP or 0P in today’s post.

LEOPARD  SKIRT & BLOUSE

I’m starting with this fun, but still professional looking leopard print skirt.  It’s a flattering pencil style, but easy to walk in with the flounce hem in the back.

It looks so chic and expensive.  Bonus, it’s machine washable!  How cool is that?!

I paired the skirt with a timeless black button down blouse.  This blouse feels so luxurious and silky soft against your skin.  The neckline is quite modern with a nice v-neck that is open for showing off a gorgeous necklace, but still on the conservative side.

This blouse is perfect for work, but will also transition right into date night or a casual look with jeans and booties.  You’d think it’s dry clean only, but it’s also machine washable.

I accessorized this outfit with the crystal clover beaded necklace.  It’s absolutely stunning in person and quite a statement, but in an elegant way.

With a bolder necklace, I like to keep my earrings on the smaller scale so they don’t compete.  These crystal beaded drop earrings are delicate and would also look fabulous with your hair up to show them off more.

Every woman definitely needs a great pair of classic black pumps.  I chose the Mila Suede Pumps and I’m crazy for how classy and stylish they look.  Not to mention how good your legs will look in them!  They are a 3 1/2 heel with a pointy toe and padded footbed for comfort.   I didn’t realize Ann Taylor had such awesome footwear!  I’m so glad I ordered these!

SHEATH DRESS & LEOPARD HEELS

This sheath dress makes you feel like a million bucks and ready to tackle the world.  It’s very flattering with the expert seaming, boatneck, and inset waistband.

When I worked in an office, I loved wearing dresses because it was so easy to just throw on one piece and be completely dressed.  All you have to do is add shoes and accessories and you have a complete outfit!

There’s a good bit of stretch and it’s fully lined with a back zipper.  It may be hard to tell in the photos, but this one is a classic navy.

The leopard heels are just fierce.  They are the same classic pointy toe as the black Mila pumps.  I like the oomph they add to this classic dress, but they’d also look great with jeans for a night out.

I paired it with a fun Fall accessory, a plaid silk little scarf.  I’m crazy for the pop of color the scarf adds and you can wear it at your neck, wrist, or on your bag for added interest.

LEOPARD TOP & BLACK SKIRT

Last but not least, we have a fun leopard print short sleeve sweater.  It’s a conservative crew neck style, but the print is fabulous and fun.

I paired the top with a solid black pencil skirt. This skirt is nice and stretchy with soft double-knit interlock fabric, that’s stable and firm, but with all the flexibility and softness of a typical jersey.

Finally, the classic black pumps finish the look.

But, I can’t forget this beautiful stacked gold ring.  It’s actually 5 separate rings that you can wear together or individually.
