HWH Fitness Challenge Week #4 | TRAMPOLINE WORKOUT AT HOME

Good morning!

My emotions are running high this morning because we are traveling to California to visit Grandma Nola today. I’m so excited to see her and for her to meet Jordan for the first time.  I think Grandma will see a mini Megan in Jordan and that the 91 and 2-year-old will really hit it off.  I just started bawling typing this, but it’s just because there’s so much love there.  Grandma Nola has been such an influential person in my life and I’m so grateful for her. I’m going to try very hard to stay in the present moment while we’re there and soak it all in.  I’ll keep you posted on Stories if you follow me there.

HWH FITNESS CHALLENGE WEEK #4

Can you believe we’re already on Week #4 of the Fitness Challenge?!  After a bumpy Week #2, I felt really good for Week #3 and got in 3 of my favorite group classes that kick my butt, yet feel so good!  And I did some running!  My food was pretty good, but the thing I haven’t been consistent with is meditating.  I want to focus on that for the rest of the challenge. I love using the Headspace app, and especially right before bed.  It’s a great way to relax and unwind after a busy day.

Today I have an exciting workout to share – a trampoline workout at home! It’s so much fun but definitely a workout.

And how are y’all doing with this week’s fitness challenge?  I’m loving connecting with you on Facebook, so if you haven’t joined our private group yet, do so here!

It’s never too late to join a fitness challenge.  If you want to start ours, get caught up on Week #1 (with FREE fitness tracker); Week #2 (with Meal Prep & Running Guide, and Week #3 (with Core Workout & Protein Brownies).

TRAMPOLINE WORKOUT AT HOME

Did you ever catch that Live Instastory I did with Ali-Shaun when we were doing the first fitness challenge and she brought her trampoline over?  Y’all were interested in how she lost weight from our original Style A Friend post to now, and one thing she’s been doing is jumping on the trampoline for 20 minutes most nights.  She also cut way down on carbs and drinking and does spin class.

And may I just say, she looks amazing!! You can check out Ali-Shaun’s first appearance on my blog here and our second dressing room post here, along with Fall outfits.  She and her hubby are such a cute couple!

On Stories, Ali-Shaun demonstrated her jumping for us and y’all were so into it!  I had sooo many questions about her trampoline routine and what she does specifically.  It was probably one of the most DMd thing I’ve ever posted- that and the time I said I was giving up coffee! Ha! 😉 #noway!

Well, the answer is simple.  Ali-Shaun just jumps.  Actually, it’s not that simple.  She jumps for a few minutes, gets winded, takes a minute break, then jumps again.  She repeats the process for 20 minutes trying not to wet herself in the process.  #momlife

Ali-Shaun’s 36-inch trampoline is from WalMart, and the legs fold underneath so you can slide it under your bed for easy hiding.  This 40-inch trampoline has a handrail if you prefer something to hold on to.

Since you guys were so intrigued with the idea of simply jumping on a trampoline for a really challenging workout, our resident fitness expert Cari Shoemate created a 20-minute workout you can do right at home.  And let me tell you, this trampoline looks cute, but the workout is no joke.  Take your time to build up to 20 minutes if you’re just beginning.

*This sports bra is what I normally wear for running and would be great for jumping too.

First of all, did you see what I had to go through to steal/borrow Ali-Shaun’s trampoline? It’s a good thing: 1) I didn’t get impaled, 2) Oliver is a sweetheart and didn’t bite my head off.  I’ve had better ideas in my day, but it all worked out! 😉

I swear I was working up a sweat just jumping on this trampoline for these photos! I felt like this was a hard workout and yet so much fun!  The cool thing is you can do it right at home and incorporate whatever moves you want to do, or use the workout above for a guideline.

  1. The trampoline workout looks like so much fun! My kids have a small one, but I’m guessing I’d need something that can hold a liiittle more weight. 😉 Ali-Shaun’s green dress is gorgeous, btw — that’s such a pretty color on her! Safe travels and I hope your visit is so very special.

  2. Megan, Prayers for you as you head out to see Grandma Nola. Seeing you all will bring her so much joy, I’m certain and she will surely love Jordan!!

I told my son yesterday that for my workout I’d jump with him on his trampoline….? I made it 2 minutes and had to tell him I’ll go for a walk. That was way tougher than I remember as a kid!

  3. I have been doing some trampoline workouts when it is raining or I don’t get a chance to run or walk and it is amazing how fast you can work a sweat up and get that heart rate going!

  4. Love this workout idea! It’s fun to try new things! I did see your shenanigans on insta stories and was both laughing and worried for you! I was picturing you having to explain yourself to the authorities … “Honestly officer, this is my friend’s house and she said I could break in, it’s for the Fitness CHallenge!” LOL!
Have a wonderful visit with Grandma Nola, safe travels!

  5. The post title says its also about natural deodorant (which I was very much looking forward to reading) but I don’t see it anywhere in the post…am i missing it?

  6. So…I know some may see the white tank ?. The dress was a last minute purchase and the tank was all I had. It was a small town, so finding a cute cami was not an option. I wasn’t brave enough to try sticky tape, and especially for a wedding ?.

  7. My daughter has a trampoline in the garden, Im so going to do a workout on it! Thanks for this inspiration 🙂 Have a great trip to see your Grandma! xz

  8. So excited to see this post!!! I’ve been rebounding for years and love it!!!! It is just wonderful for the body. Turned 60 this year and feel great!!!

  9. Hi, Megan.

This workout looks like so much fun, I can’t wait to try it. Can you tell me who makes the trampoline you’re using in the photos? I’ve never seen one with straps instead of springs and I couldn’t locate it online. Thank you!
