6 Black Leather Skirt Outfit Ideas For Fall
Good morning friends! I know how much y’all appreciate the posts where I show you how to take one item in your closet and style it several different ways. So today, I’m partnering with one of my favorite retailers and somewhere you know I shop often – LOFT! I think we all know and love LOFT because their styles are constantly being updated and they have great sales!
Another great thing about LOFT is that they make mixing and matching styles super easy because their collections are usually designed to be worn interchangeably.
I’m also super excited about the hero piece today, a gorgeous, very expensive looking faux leather black skirt. The leather skirt is extra cool because it has a flattering shape, asymmetrical style, and a little bit of stretch, so it’s easy to wear. And the good news is, it’s under $70! So today, I’m showing you 6 black leather skirt outfit ideas for fall!
FIT: It fits TTS, but if you are in between sizes, I’d size down. I started out with 0P, then sized down to 00P. Which brings me to another reason I love shopping at LOFT- they carry sizes from Petite to Tall to Maternity! Something for everyone!
6 WAYS TO WEAR A BLACK LEATHER SKIRT
OUTFIT #1
Long Cardigan • Skirt • Stripe Tank • Similar Necklace • Similar Shoes
I know we are all itching to wear our cozy cardigans, but it’s still quite warm, so I first paired the skirt with a striped tank top. The tank is one of my go-to styles and I have one in almost every color. It’s great for under layers or on its own – and cute tucked in or worn out.
Then, when it gets chilly or if you happen to be in a cold building with the AC on blast, you can layer over this cardigan. The cardigan has a shawl collar, and can be cozy for at home or bring a bit of fall to a summery outfit.
OUTFIT #2
Button Down • Skirt • Similar Shoes
Next, I wanted to show you how you can bring this hot skirt and cool it down so that it’s work friendly. By simply adding a classic button down blouse and closed toe pumps, you have a look that would be welcome at the office.
The shirt is particularly fun because it combines stripes and polka dots in one shirt! And the blouse has tabs to keep the sleeves rolled up. It would also look cute with jeans or a good pair of shorts. You can’t go wrong with a classic white button up if that’s what you already have in your closet, but this pop of pattern just makes it more interesting.
OUTFIT #3
When fall gets here, I’m all about adding a vest to any outfit. The colors can be rich and fun, which add a pop of color to your look. Also – vests typically give you an extra pocket, which might sound silly, but sometimes you just need more pockets! #momlife
This quilted vest isn’t available right now, but doesn’t it add a bit of casual fun to the button down top and leather skirt?!
OUTFIT #4
Sweater • Skirt • Scarf • Similar Necklace • Similar Knee High Riding Boot
Soon it will be all about boots and sweaters, so I wanted to show you how you can wear yours with this skirt.
The puff sleeves on this sweater are blousey and just a little more extra than your classic white fall sweater. It’s a lightweight so you could easily add a blazer, jacket or vest to this. With the round neckline, you can add interest through a statement necklace. I went with an all gold look and I think it dresses up the solid sweater.
OUTFIT #5
OUTFIT #6
Pintuck Blouse • Skirt • Glasses • Leopard Print Booties
You can play the sophisticated card with this pretty, pleated blouse. I adore the neckline and even though I was sure I’d mess up the tie neck, it’s just a relaxed bow and very easy to tie. The flutter sleeves are fancy and the bib detail is just so classic. This will make a great base layer under any fall cardigan or jacket in your closet!
I don’t normally wear glasses (I’m a contact lens girl), but when I do, they better have some pink! The pink and brown in these tortoise shell readers flatter any skin tone and make you feel all librarian chic! They come in different strength magnifications to help you read the tiny print on those receipts!
So tell me, are you thinking you need this LOFT skirt in your life?! Are you inspired by these black leather skirt outfit ideas to recreate for your own fall wardrobe?
Thanks to LOFT for sponsoring this post!
So pretty! I’m loving all of the textured materials for fall/winter — leather, suede, corduroy. I think my favorite outfit here is #1!
I’m digging that cardigan too! 😉
Love the leather skirt – you make it look feminine and pretty.
Thanks so much Kathy!
YES to all of these looks!! I love it.
Thanks Patti! Have a great day!
Um, you’re adorable in glasses!!!!!! Great finds, too!
Thanks mama! Can’t wait to see you soon!
I love (!) these posts – they help me think creatively about what I have in my closet! In this case, I have a faux leather skirt in gray – and now I’m seeing all the additional possibilities, (though, it wouldn’t hurt to add a black leather faux skirt to my collection, right?) 😉 Thanks so much for all the ideas!
That’s what I was hoping- you’d be able to create similar looks with things in your closet!
Perfect combo for this season_D
I’m not normally one to go for a leather skirt (I don’t feel I can pull it off), but I am absolutely in love with that first outfit and might have to give this skirt a try! You styled it so well in each outfit!
LOVE this post! Great outfit ideas! Saving this one!
Love all the ways you have styled this skirt! I gave a shout out to this post and linked it in my most recent post on leather for fall.
Aww, thanks for that! 🙂
Oh my goodness, I loooooove this post! Each of these outfits are so cute. I literally need a leather skirt in my closet now! Also, the little cut on this one is so cute.
