Happy happy weekend friends! If you need me, I’ll be sweating my butt off at Field Day today! It’s an all-day event at the school with sports and games and prizes and even a dunking booth! It’s always a fun time, and also signals the countdown to the last two weeks of school! Can you believe we’re at that point already?!
Today’s Dressing Room post is starting to look towards summer! #getready!!
For size reference, I’m super petite, 5’1, 105-110, 34D. I usually wear 0P or 25 in jeans and XS or 0P tops.
TANKS & SHORTS
Our weather is getting hot, hot, hot over here and you’d swear it’s already summer! Everyday I find myself reaching for shorts and T-shirts or tank tops, so let’s start with that combo here!
Chambray Cami • Tie-Waist Safari Shorts
This chambray cami is soft with a cute strappy, bar-back that gives it a little something extra. The shirttail hem is also flattering – a little longer in the back.

The shorts look linen, but they’re a little mixed so they don’t wrinkle as bad as straight linen – and they’re softer and machine washable! The elastic tie waist makes them easy breezy and of course the neutral color goes with everything.

Peplum Tank • High-Waist Shorts
While shopping at Target the other day, I popped into the women’s clothing section and found a couple cute and inexpensive tanks. The black and white stripes on this cowl neck peplum tank are so small it almost looks grey.

The shorts are similar to Madewell’s high-waist jeans #love, but this jean short variety has the structured pockets that hold you in. And I’m partial to the button front detail.

If pintuck is your thing, CeCe has lots of adorable options for you right now! This blouse has pink stripe detail, there are two white varieties that are absolutely made for summer. And this style is dressy enough for work if you’re allowed to bare your arms.

With eyelets and ruffles, this little square neck top is super cute! The back is a stretchy smocked design making this even more comfortable. It looks good with dark denim, but I’d love to see it with your white jeans and Everyday Wedges.

I don’t know why I’m always drawn to stripes, but I found five of them, all a little bit different from each other!
You’ve seen this tee in solids and blue stripes – I’ve dressed it up, dressed it down and everything in between! The red stripes on this one are a bright, summery red that really pops in non-dressing room light. This one came home with me and I wore it on my road trip to Austin this week.

Stripe Ruffle Sleeve Top • White Shorts 30% Off
This little tee is super comfy and relaxed with fancy sleeves! It comes in a navy stripe too, or four awesome solid colors.

Just as you shouldn’t fear white jeans, white jean shorts easily make the rotation around here. These have a decent 4-inch inseam, lower rise, with some stretch. The distressed cuff makes them more casual and easy to throw on for weekends.

If you prefer, the sleeves are longer on this crew neck tee which helps slim your arms. A striped top like this looks amazing with a floral patterned skirt or shorts.

Pineapple Stripe Sweater 50% Off
I’m smitten with this light blue and white striped pineapple tee! It’s actually a very lightweight sweater material and although I thought it was a bit pricey at full price, good news is it’s 50% off now!

It’s kind of hard to tell in this top, but it’s a pretty coral and light blue. The tie peplum hem helps create an hourglass shape and the small pocket is too cute.

I love the combo of white jeans or white shorts paired with a chambray top. It’s just such a classic look. This top is a cotton linen blend and has the cutest, non body-con shape.

The shorts are so cute with the little side ties. I wouldn’t necessarily pair this together outside of the dressing room, but I liked each individual piece.

For your office, a lightweight 3/4 sleeve sweater will serve you well and I do like the fun front tie.

PANTS
I’ve been on the hunt for white pants that you could wear to work with all of your Spring and Summer tops. But white pants can be tricky because they need to be opaque with a nice weight to them for a smooth shape. So far, this pair is the only one I can recommend!
Tie-Hem Sweater • White Slacks
These slacks are the Marisa Fit from Loft, with a slightly straighter cut from waist to hip and a crop length. They felt good on and were quite comfortable with pockets. And bonus that they’re machine washable!

DRESSES & SKIRTS & ROMPERS
Rompers can be absolutely adorable or oh, so wrong! You never really know until you try it on. Luckily, this black ruffled romper falls into the adorable category. I like the sleeves, criss-cross top and elastic cinched tie waist. This one could be worn daytime with sandals or dressed up for an evening with heels.

In this dressing room post are two maxi dresses that fit me perfectly right off the rack and I’ve actually already worn them both! This blue one has a really cute crisscross back and I wore it to James’ school play, Willy Wonka. It’s ultra comfortable, but so is the one below.

Stripe Strappy Maxi Dress • Collarless Denim Jacket
You’ve seen this striped maxi dress in the 6 Must-Have Spring Dresses post, I liked it that much! And considering it was on sale for under $50, I’d say grab it now. It’s kind of hard to tell in the photo, but this dress is navy and white and comes in regular and petite!

How cute is this denim jacket?! I haven’t seen one like this with 3/4 sleeves and no collar before that looks as good. I usually cuff my jacket sleeves anyway, so this is perfect.

The bold royal blue color of this dress caught my eye right away. The flowy and forgiving shape is definitely a plus, but it’s also mixed media with a T-shirt front and silky back. It comes in regular, petite, tall and plus sizes, so something for everyone.

This sweater knit dress is also on sale for under $50 and so stretchy and comfortable to wear. The striped flutter sleeves are a sweet detail.

Separates like this silky top and skirt combo make great pieces for a capsule wardrobe because they mix and match so well. The top can be worn with jeans or shorts or another skirt and the geometric skirt can be paired with lots of different tops.

One of the most universally flattering dress styles is the wrap dress because it accentuates the smallest part of your frame. It’s a little hard to tell in the photo but this dress is actually navy, so it’s less severe than black. It felt really good on and I’d wear this to work, church or even a party with strappy heels and fun jewelry!

While I didn’t love this maxi dress on me, I thought for someone less busty it would be absolutely stunning. The double tassel trim is really cute and obviously we’ll be seeing lots more white dresses you soon!
