Outfits Lately

Hello friends and Happy Friday!  What a whirlwind week it’s been!  Monday was a day off school for us, so it was a short week with lots to accomplish!

Poor Jordan got pink eye and I had to run her to the doctor at rush hour, but thankfully she’s doing much better! Yesterday, our bedroom got a fresh coat of paint to lighten up the room and have it coordinate better with our new wallpaper! I don’t have good pictures to show you yet, but I will next week!

And the most special news of all, James’ First Communion and Jordan’s baptism are tomorrow!  I know I’m going to be overwhelmed with emotion because those kinds of ceremonies do that to me.  It’ll be happy tears though! ♥

This week on the blog continued the Work • Weekend • Wow series and featured white jeans in two posts because I had 6 looks to share.  Catch up on Part 1 here & Part 2 here.  Ladies, do not fear white jeans!  I didn’t even know that was a thing until I was talking to one of my good friends and she said she didn’t have a pair because she didn’t think they’d look good on her!  Please tell me none of you feel that way!!

Did you try the frayed hem white jeans?!  Those are a great starter pair because they come in both regular and petite (fit TTS, 25P here) and are nice and lightweight, but still opaque and not jegging-ish.  Those jegging white jeans are the ones I avoid because they are not our friend!  But, the frayed hem white jeans, you can trust those!

And I also dipped my toe in the style waters at JCPenney– I haven’t shopped there in forever- and I was pleasantly surprised at the selection and prices!  I wish some of their things came in smaller sizes, but that’s #petitegirlprobs.

OUTFITS LATELY

It’s been awhile since I’ve done a roundup of my Outfits Lately, so this one is a big one!  Grab your coffee (with creamer!) or tea and get comfy!

The stars of this fashion show are my fave jean shorts (the same ones from last year still going strong!), the frayed hem white jeans, stripes (always stripes!), and a few new things from LOFT– most of which is on sale!

For size reference, I’m super petite, 5’1, 105, 34D.  I usually wear 0P or 25 in jeans and XS or 0P tops.

I think this first outfit is my spirit animal of an outfit- the jeans that make you look skinny mini with a simple white tank, leopard heels and a very cute take on a military jacket with a slight peplum hem to dress it up.  And add a few delicate jewelry pieces (two necklaces and an anklet- yes, I said anklet! It’s back and I’m loving it!).  This look takes you from day date to night out if your feet last that long in the heels!  And size up half in them!

You really can’t go wrong with a wrap top (or dress for that matter).  They are so universally figure flattering and the red in this one is vibrant and fun! The neckline is pretty modest, so I bet you could wear it to work.

Last month, I got to meet up with my girlfriends at a blog conference in Austin.  All the new rules and regulations on blogging make my brain hurt, but it’s always fun to get some girl time!  I was business casual in this navy blazer and striped tee with jeans and heels.  See this blazer with white jeans here. The tee is 20% off now!

The white jeans made an appearance for day with a twist hem top (it gets so cold in those hotels- glad I brought my jacket too).

and then I changed into this denim peplum tank that night for margaritas and nachos!

Come to think of it, these red palazzo pants would make a good margarita-drinking outfit!  They are comfy like pajama pants, but appropriate for public viewing! 😉 It looks most flattering to wear a fitted top with this type of pant and tuck it in to show off the tie waist.

After several hours on the road trip back home, of course I didn’t  feel like cooking, so we grabbed a bite out at James’ favorite restaurant that serves the best pancakes! Pancakes for dinner are always a good idea!  And it’s one of the only things he’ll eat at a restaurant!

Stripes are always on repeat around here, but this time, not just in tops, but three different Spring-friendly dresses!

This first tee-shirt style dress can be dressed up with wedges or worn more casually with sandals.  I dig the lace up in the front and it also comes in a red and white stripe.

And if you’re looking for something a bit dressier, this midi dress is all kinds of cute with the front tie and adjustable spaghetti straps.

Y’all saw this dress in my JCPenney post– can you believe what good stuff they have and the prices?!  I know we all love a bargain and I was also just asked to start looking at Amazon Prime fashion, so I need to check that out too.

You can’t see my bracelets in that pic above, but I’m wearing the Kendra Scott Supak Beaded Bracelet set in Amazonite.  That teal color is so gorgeous this time of year especially!

For Easter, we got all dressed up for church and the kiddos looked so cute!  I was seriously dying at Jordan’s dress and how James’ looked so handsome striking that casual pose!

Then, it was home for a change into something more casual for an egg hunt with the cousins! This striped top is so fun with the mix of colors, but you have to see the button back!

I guess I’ll need to change out Jordan’s Spring nursery soon, but for now I still love all the Easter touches!

I found this adorable off-shoulder top also at JCPenney and it definitely says “Happy Hour!!” don’t ya think?!

As you’ve seen, I’m finding all kinds of opportunities to wear my blue (‘seltzer’)  Tory Burch Miller Sandals.  They add a bit of color to an otherwise neutral outfit like this super soft ‘jogger’ skirt and tee!  Just remember to size up half in those sandals because they run small!

Softest Tee • Terry Skirt • Sandals

I’ve always been a fan of a red and light blue color combo.  This shorts outfit is from Loft and a nice change from the jean shorts I’m always in!

When it comes to the weekend night though, this va va voom dress is a stunner and so very flattering!  It’s soft as pajamas and I’m not exaggerating! Hugs you in all the right places and the ruching is very forgiving!

And can we talk about these leopard heels for a minute?! I’ve been waiting forever for a pair like this to come back in stock! They have a tall, stiletto heel and pointy toe that definitely amps up your outfit!  They are made with calf hair and look so sexy on! They run small, so size up.

YOUR MARCH FAVE

Y’all have LOVED this bright pink confetti top and no wonder, it’s just so vibrant and fun! It’s got a faux twist in the front that’s perfect for faking a mini front tuck!

WORKOUT

What’s an Outfits Lately post without some workout wear?!

(These are the shorts I showed you here that were a SUPER happy find!  I love the fit, the style, the smooth wider waistband, and the built-in waist pocket for running with your car key! They are moisture wicking and are lined!!  Basically, I hit the running shorts JACKPOT with these!!  They fit TTS, I’m wearing XS).

  1. Wow, great post! Lots of great outfits! Quick question, for the 1901 colored stripe sweater: do you have it in the blue multi or pink multi color? And is the edging on it black or navy? Hard to tell in the photos. I just love it though! Thanks for all the great recommendations!!

  2. I have to ask- what restaurant serves the best pancakes? As a Houstonian, I must know. Pancakes are my comfort food!

  3. I’m thinking of taking the plunge on Tory Miller sandals……any words to convince me they’re worth the splurge vs just some regular thong sandals?? Thank you!

    1. Oh yes, they are worth it! Super comfortable and very well made. They are leather and not plastic or rubber so you’re feet will feel the difference. Plus, they go much better with dressier things! Let me know what you think if you make the splurge! I liked them so much I got two colors! Makeup (nude) and Seltzer (light blue)!

  4. Hi! Can you tell me the color of your brown Tory Burch Miller Sandals? Is it Makeup or Vintage Leather?

  5. Again, your outfits and your style always make me to want every piece that you show! Love it!
    Same for the pancakes 🙂

  6. I love your selfies from above !! I’m totally unable to do the same, my phone doesn’t help… (it has a cover like the cover of a book, I don’t know the english word).
And thank you for your blog, I try to improve my clothing by taking inspiration here !

Do you travel sometimes outside of USA ? Maybe you did it before having kids ? 😉
    Have a good day !
