A Pop of Sunshine

I know as winter starts to drag on and on, we could all use a little sunshine in our lives! Am I right?! I was at the Galleria looking for something fun to wear for Valentine’s Day, and spotted this bright yellow bag from across the department!  It was an immediate Had to Have!!  That yellow is so vibrant and fresh and dare I say, charming!

She’s faux leather and really well made with silver feet on the bottom so she doesn’t get dirty. I try not to ever put my bag on the floor though if I can help it! There’s a big inner patterned pouch with pockets and it zips close.  I appreciate that to help keep everything organized!

And I like the option of carry handles or wearing it on your shoulder for versatility.  You’ll definitely be seeing more of her here! I’m envisioning wearing this with lots of brights in the Spring, but the color also really pops with a neutral outfit.

Seriously, how fun are the bell sleeves on this navy and white striped top?! I’m wearing XSP, which is my normal size at Loft, but I bet I could’ve gotten away with XXSP on this one because of the relaxed fit.

The jeans are the pair you saw in my latest Dressing Room post and I’d go as far as to call them a Must Have!  They are a great mid-rise jean that you won’t feel like your undies are peeking out of and come in a darker wash (that I’m wearing) and a lighter wash.   The dark wash and subtle whiskering and the release hem are spot on. They are SO freaking comfortable! The material is the thicker, high quality you don’t find in the less expensive juniors jeans that we like to purchase when we’re on a budget ;). And at $99, they aren’t outrageously priced, but well worth it!

Since I bought petite, I didn’t cut the length, I simply cuff them up, but I will go back and trim those loose threads so they look a little more clean.

I’m seriously smitten with this whole outfit!

I’d say you could wear it for date night, lunch with the girls, or even a casual day at the office.  If you traded the heels for a pair of comfy, but still stylish ballet flats, it would also be super cute and practical for running around with the kiddos!  These heels are my go-to for so many outfits because they basically disappear on your feet.  They look great with everything and are available in a rainbow of colors.  I have them in red and yellow too!

And don’t let me forget about these fun tassel earrings!  Unfortunately mine sold out in the blue and yellow #boo! but I found this yellow pair of tassel earrings are on sale 40% off!  That’s a great deal on them! And this pair is under $20! This fun blue ombre pair is also on sale for $21.

Don’t you think the earrings make the outfit better? It’s just not as fun without them! That tiny bit of color brings it all together!

Are you ready for Spring??

  4. Megan, how do you switch between bags and not lose or forget something? Small is often and more stylish, but there are some days I wish I had my messenger bag because I didn’t bring the nail clippers, or iPad, or glasses, or extra wallet with all of the discount/gift cards. Sometimes I go back to the big bag and still can’t find something because I left it in the bag two changes ago!

    1. That’s a great question! I have one main bag with “all the things” but I usually put pens, a nail file, gum, tissues in a separate little bag and lipsticks/powder in another bag so I can just easily transfer the little bags if I need to. If the purse is small, I just bring the lipstick I’m wearing and a few essentials. I keep my ‘main bag’ hanging in the mudroom and try to keep that the central area for transferring things! I do get all mixed up with Jordan’s things though! I need a better system for that!
