Gift Guides for the Cozy Girl &Traveler

Happy Friday friends!  Didn’t it feel like this week flew by?! And now it’s officially December! I love this time of year, but I don’t feel ready for it to start and then be ‘over’ in just 25 days!  And the crazy thing this year is that our son’s holiday break doesn’t start until the Friday before Christmas, then goes until January 9!  Soooo, I guess we’ll end up being in slow and lazy mode until the beginning of the new year! Is your Christmas break late too?

Y’all have been asking for more gift guides- I had only done my Stocking Stuffer Gift Guide up to now – but today you’re in for a treat because I have two gift guides for ya!  These gift guides are ideas for the homebody or cozy gal (um, have we met?!) and for the girl on the go- the traveler!

For the Cozy Gal

This is so funny, but do you know what Jordan’s keeps saying now, “cooooeee” for Cozy!  She says it when she lays on the couch and cuddles up in the blanket with me! I think this gift guide will definitely be in her future! 😉

Fleece Pullover

Is it terrible that this fleece pullover is in my own cart right now?!  It’s ultra cozy with a slimmer fit and pockets! Only trouble is picking out a color- it comes in 7!

Faux Fur Scarf

You’ve seen me in my version of this faux fur infinity scarf and it’s one I always get compliments on and asked where to get it, but mine sold out! This one at Nordstrom might actually be better because it’s got some variation in the color.

Slim Ugg Boot

Remember in November Loves, I showed you the short slim Ugg boot?!  Well, this one is the sister pair, but taller.  You can’t beat the comfort, quality and warmth of UGG boots, but the traditional kind are a bit too wide for my petite frame.  But, when I saw this slim version, I thought, now THOSE are good!  You won’t look like you have Chewbacca feet with these! ?

Knit Slipper

Now this is a slipper to cozy up in all weekend and declare that you’re never leaving the house again!

Fleece Lined Socks

Or these socks. I mean, c’mon with the cable knit and adorable dangling pom pom!

Knit Scarf

I cannot get over this oversize extra chunky knit pink scarf!  And of course, I’m smitten with the color.

Slouchy Cardigan

I’ve been singing praises about my Cozy Cardi that is hands-down, my favorite purchase of 2017!  But, it is pricey and not on sale #boo!, so I searched for an alternative that would be very soft and cozy and not quite as expensive, and found this slouchy cardigan.  This one is a similar circle shape to the cozy cardi and has pockets, but is a bit longer.  It’s oversized, so for a slimmer fit, size down.

Flare Sleeve Sweater

This sweater has my name written all over it with the v-neck and slight bell sleeves.  It’s super soft and cozy and just the kind of thing I want to wear all the time these days!

Fleece Tunic

You can wear this tunic either off the shoulder or as a cowl neck and it comes in 8 shades. I’m really partial to the off-shoulder, but as a cowl neck, I think I’d pull it back a little more so it didn’t hang quite as low in front.

Buttery-Soft Robe

I loooove a good robe and so does my mom, so I had to include one (okay, two) in this list.  The first one is more my style with a shorter length. It’s made of a buttery-soft stretch cotton blend and lined with plush fleece. #oneforme

Cozy Robe

and #oneforyou She doesn’t know it yet, but this is the robe I got for my mom.  She’s gonna freak over it!  She already loves her cozy cardi that I got her and wears it all the time and so I know this robe in the same material is going to be a hit!

Pajamas

You can’t do cozy without a good pair of pajamas! If you wear a ratty old t-shirt and sweatpants to bed (and you know who you are!) I beg you to try a good pair of actual jammies for a change.  I bet you’ll really like them!  And you can still keep your holey tee and sweats! p.s. This pair comes with an adorable coordinating eye mask 😉

For the Traveler

If your friend is more of the the adventurous type, then this gift guide for the traveler is right up her alley!  It’s filled with things in various price ranges all perfectly useful for her next trip!

Watch

This watch (with leather strap) is so cool because, not only is it gorgeous with a really neat design, it’s made to track everything from steps to calories, and connects seamlessly to your iPhone or Android.

Crossbody Bag

Y’all have heard me rave about this bag and it’s especially wonderful for traveling because it’s hands free, and the perfect Cinderella size- not to big, not too small, but just right!  The bag unzips at the bottom to create more width and will hold all your necessities plus a small camera!  Inside it has several compartments to help keep you organized!  It’s become one of my favorite everyday bags!

Planner

Every traveler needs a planner to plot and plan future vacays! This one is 12 month with laminated tabs, weekly and monthly spreads and a ribbon bookmark. Kate’s planners and stationary are always so good!

Ballet Flats

Both cute and comfy, a pair of good ballet flats are great for airports and this pair is also made for comfortable walking-around because of the cushioning and flexibility in this shoe.  Unless you’re TSA pre-screened (I finally did that!) you’ll have to take your shoes off for screening and a pair of ballet flats is the way to go for that!

Packable Jacket

I’ve had a very similar packable jacket for a few years now and it’s a lifesaver on trips to cold places!  Because it’s packable, it folds up and doesn’t take up a ton of space in your bag and yet, it’s still enough to keep you warm and toasty when sightseeing!

Travel Organizing Bags

I recently invested in a set of travel organizing bags, but that was before I saw this gorgeous blush pink set.  When I bought mine, that’s one thing I agonized over- what color to get!  Had I known the set from Nordstrom was available, I probably would’ve gotten them- but they also come in a cool marble and palm leaf print.  I should have known that Nordstrom would have the coolest travel bags!

Anyways, the bags are awesome for keeping your clothes and things organized when you pack.  While I was out of town, my things stayed organized too, which was so helpful when living out of a suitcase.  Then, on the way home, you can use the large bag for dirty clothes and empty that bag into the laundry room when you got home.

 Slip-On Sneakers

I swear by these slip on sneakers when you need shoes that are good for hours of walking without killing your feet! I took these on the food tour in NYC and we walked for a loooong time, and my feet were so happy afterwards! I think they are so cute now, especially in the blush pink!

Journal

If you’re the kind that likes to takes notes and jot things down when you travel, a journal like this is a perfect little gift. It’s spiral bound so it’ll lay flat (very important!) with lined pages inside.

Travel Guide – Paris & Travel Guide – New York

These travel guides sounded appealing because they are “the result of the work of more than thirty savvy, stylish, plugged-in resident curators who know their city inside and out.”   If your friend has been dreaming of Paris or New York, I bet she’d get a kick out of this book.

Water Bottle

So, it’s a bummer we can’t take water bottles on the plane anymore, but once you get there, these little swell water bottles are great for toting around because they are so slim, styling and keep your water fresh and cold!

Hard Case Luggage

I finally invested in some grownup luggage and couldn’t be happier with it!  I never thought to look at Nordstrom for luggage, but turns out they have a really nice selection and I knew if it didn’t work out I could always return it for free. The rose gold color on this set is absolutely gorgeous (but it’s available in 5 colors).  This set comes with this big daddy (almost as big as me!) and also a smaller carry-on.  I’ve never had hard-case luggage before and it held everything really well with lots of room.  This big suitcase rolls super smooth and because it has 4 wheels, I could actually just roll it without even tipping it over if that makes sense.  It made this super heavy bag feel like nothin’!

The big daddy also zipper expands, which was handy for bringing home more than I came with.  But, it’s also cool that it has an integrated TSA-approved lock.  And I loved the protective cover the suitcase came with. I kept that on when I checked it and I’m glad I did because the cover got all dirty with black marks, so all I have to do is wash it and my suitcase looks good as new!

  1. I shared a cozy gift guide this week too because who doesn’t love cozy?! Going to check out both of those scarves! And I always bring an empty Swell bottle when I fly- they are perfect!!

  2. Thankfully most airports have great bottle-filling water fountains now, so you can bring your empty Swell through security, then fill it up near your gate! It’s so nice- and then you don’t have to buy the $6 bottled water at the airport shop 🙂
