White Done Right for Fall & Winter
We all know by now that there is no date upon which we must surrender our white clothing to the back of the closet, not to be seen again until Summer.  You can wear white year round, and I encourage you to do so! White is such a fresh color that looks great on everyone, any time of year! But, there are a few basic things to keep in mind for making it look current and suitable in the cooler months.
The trick is in the materials (think thicker and more textured-Â your white linen shirt can sit this season out) and how you layer them (bringing in deeper colors and pattern with a scarf, cardigan, vest, or jacket).
Today, I’m showing you two white faves: 1) a darling white sweater dress and, 2) a pair of Must Have white corduroy pants, and how you can happily wear them all Fall and Winter long!
SWEATER DRESS
Dress XSP • Similar Bag under $40 • Boots TTS • Necklace
I thought this dress looked a little boxy on the hanger, but as soon as I put it on – #swoon!! It’s absolutely adorable on and the bell sleeves are a fun addition!  The quality is great and it’s not at all itchy (there’s no wool in it!). It’s slim fitting, but not tight, so it’s actually very figure flattering! It fits TTS, I’m wearing my normal XSP. Â
The texture on this dress is a perfectly thick, opaque white- you don’t need to worry about it being sheer or see through- I wore it without a slip without any issues. And always with these ‘must have’ barely-there undies that stay in place and feel amazing on! No slipping or sliding with the slight elastic on the sides! 😉
For Fall, I paired the dress with these gorgeous soft suede knee high boots. I really lucked out on this pair, because often I have to try on at least 5 or more to get the fit, color, and style of a knee high boot right. They are sooooo pretty in person and the almond suede color is the perfect light neutral to go with so many things in your closet.
Dress XSP • Similar Bag under $40 • Boots TTS • Necklace • Link Bracelet (similar for less)
The style is clean and unfussy, just a simply stunning boot with a block heel that’s not too high and not too low. The boot hits me right mid-knee and I’m 5’1.
The dress looks great on it’s own with gold accessories for a more monotone look, but you can bring in more of those traditionally Fall colors like warm reds and gold with your favorite plaid scarf and quilted vest. The pop of color really brings this outfit to life, dontcha think?!
Quilted Vest XS • Similar Scarf
My burgundy crossbody bag is old, but this one is similar and under $40 and this one is a pretty suede.
I like this quilted vest for it’s slimmer shape that gives you more of a waist than some puffer vests. Â It’s still nice and thick though and will also do the job of keeping you warm! And it has pockets!

SKINNY CORDUROY PANTS
I wanted to give you an alternative to white jeans after Labor Day, which are one of my MUST HAVES for Fall-Â these AMAZING corduroy skinny pants! Â Trust me, you need these in your life! Not only are they super slimming and ultra comfortable, they come in a ton of colors and can be worn everywhere from work to weekend, parties and PTO meetings. Â You’ll really get a ton of use out of these!
Cami XS • Ruffled Cardigan XXS • Necklace • Skinny Corduroy Pants 0P • Similar Nude Heels • Bag • Similar Belt
These pants fit TTS and come in both regular and petite (so no alterations needed!). Whenever Fall comes around, they are one of the first pair of pants I reach for, such a nice change from your everyday jeans!
To make the white (they’re a soft white, called “light tan” not as bright white as they may appear in the pics) more Fall appropriate, I paired them with a “brown” that looks more apricot-rose gold camisole and medium width brown belt.
The nude heels continue your leg line so they give you legs for days!
If your Fall is anything like ours has been, you can wear the pants with just the camisole and have a sassy night out look. But, if you’re lucky enough to be enjoying the cooler temperatures, you can layer your cami with your favorite cardigan.
Ruffled Cardigan XXS • Cami XS • Ruffled Cardigan XXS • Necklace • Skinny Corduroy Pants 0P • Similar Nude Heels • Bag • Similar Belt
I’m partial to this darling ruffle hem cardigan with flared sleeves. I like how feminine and flirty it looks and I always appreciate a curved hem on a cardigan. I find this brand runs big, so I sized down one from XS to XXS.
Isn’t the color pretty too?! It would also look great with blue or black jeans, but I love how these colors look with the white pants.

I hope this gives you some ideas for how to wear white this Fall and even into winter!
Do you wear white after Labor Day?
You Texas bloggers talking about white jeans all winter long make me chuckle. Clearly you don’t have snow, slush, and sledge on the ground from December through March, lol! I do like to pull them out in the early spring though to pair with sweaters and booties.
Ha! Good point Diane! Snowy days are a very faint memory from when I used to live in Ohio! So different in the south!
What color are the pants? I onli see light tan online.
Hi Nikki, great question since I know see my “white” are called “light tan”- they are a soft creamy color- not bright white. But also a bit lighter than in the website pic!
lovely choices, I am a little bit envy (on good mood) of your closet:P
Great looks! I love the whole outfit. You are inspiring with these outfits. You make my day. Thanks and keep sharing.
