We are so giddy heading into the weekend as 2017 World Series Champions! We are thrilled for our Houston Astros and our city is on fire with excitement! It’s the franchise’s first ever World Series Championship, so it’s a huge deal here! Schools and companies are closing early tomorrow so that we can all enjoy the Astros parade through downtown! James plays little league baseball now and so it’s especially fun for him and his friends. They are huge fans! Jose Altuve is their hero!
Our city really needed this win and our Astros played their hearts out to give it to them. Some of you have been asking how our friends are doing since Hurricane Harvey and I want to say thank you for caring. ♥ We’ve had good news that the renovation of some flooded homes is happening quicker than original estimates. Our good friends have already begun the sheetrock process and will be moving onto paint next! It’s been a long journey for many, but they have handled it with such grace and are pulling through. #HoustonStrong
Today I have a fun Dressing Room post for you, full of tons of sweaters, cardigans and my fave puffer and quilted vests to keep you both toasty and stylish this November! Oh, and the cutest!!! light pink puffer jacket! But then I kinda went overboard and also found some darling party dresses (I’m torn if this one or this one is my favorite), a new pair of high waist workout leggings (I have to start working out consistently again!) and some super cute Christmas pajamas, because it’s never too early, right?! And because no one wants to be stuck searching for Christmas jammies when they’re all picked over and all that’s left are the ugly ones!
First up is this adorable bubble stitch sweater in a really pretty lavender color, (but the rust and blue are also fantastic), and cowl neck collar isn’t too tight. It runs TTS, so size up if you want a looser fit. And I had to add the faux fur pom pom beanie- it’s just too cute and will definitely keep you warm!
These ripped jeans are a pretty recent new find from one of my favorite quality, but not-too expensive, brands- BLANKNYC. Their jeans feel great on and last forever! I like the darker, mostly solid wash on these with just the right amount of rips.
I adore this v-neck sweater with fun, slightly belled sleeves. The sleeves aren’t too wide, but in XS, it’s a little longer on me than shown online. I wish it came in XXS because the material is really soft and cozy!
Now is definitely the time to pull out your black jeans! I loved these jeans as soon as I put them on – remember from this old Dressing Room post– and they are back in stock, and under $60!
In our nightly bedtime routine, James and I sometimes talk about two fantasy lands we’ve created, his is called “Tatooine” and mine is called “Cloud Puffy Puff”. In Cloud Puffy Puff, you never have to go to school, fresh groceries always appear in your fridge, money grows on trees and people never get sick . . . you get the idea! Well, this sweater reminded me of CPP, with it’s billowy texture and snow white color. I actually really liked this one! Will be cute all Fall and Winter long- especially with red later!
Oh man, is this a soft top?! I’m talking snuggly soft like you may just want to curl up on the couch all day and watch Pretty Woman and SATC. Your pajamas will be jealous! It comes in tons of color options and fits TTS.
I showed you this sweater in oatmeal (below) before, but it’s worth showing again because it’s in stock in other colors and under $50! The light blue and pink are really pretty and unexpected for this time of year. You can wear it long or with a mini front tuck, but it definitely runs TTS- the Small blue was too big, and the XXS in oatmeal fit me perfectly.
The cold shoulder on this top takes it up a notch from your traditional cable knit sweater. I’m a fan of this navy that will go great with lots of your Fall scarves, but it also comes in a pretty Winter white.
When your heart says “Fall”, but the temps still say “Summer”, a sweater tank is a perfect compromise. I like the nautical feel on this top, including the shimmery gold buttons. You can always wear a long sleeve top underneath to transition it to colder temps.
It’s all about the Astros today, but I’m also cheering on our Texans with a ball cap that is perfect for weekends and bad hair days. I’m crazy for the sentiment on this long sleeve tee and the collegiate style makes me feel like a kid again. It runs small, so size up for a looser fit.
You will LOVE this cowl neck tunic! It’s really soft and cozy with a comfy cowl neck, exposed seams and flattering, slightly A-line shape. Isn’t that color red pretty?!
Owls are my grandma’s favorite for their ‘wise’ reputation and she loves to collect them, so that makes this lightweight sweater particularly special to me. I love the mix of colors for Fall and how good it looks with a button down underneath.
If only I could keep every.thing!! I’m team #coldshoulder, so of course I love this slouchy (grey!- my fave color) v-neck sweater. It’s got cozy written all over it and will look great with black, grey or blue jeans and boots.
I’m totally obsessed with the next two cardigans. I have a major thing for cozy goodness, but it can be a challenge to find a great cardigan that is both cozy, fits a short girl and is the right price!
How sweet is this flirty ruffled version?! It’s ruffled on one side with long flared sleeves and pockets! This one just might be my Thanksgiving cardigan! #bringontheTurkey!
But this cardigan is so good too! It’s comfortable with a stretchiness to it and pockets that you can actually reach! It’s long, but not too long for a short gal! Fits TTS.
This pink puffer jacket definitely came home with me! I’m crazy for the light shade of pink that will look great as a change from the typical black winter coat. It’s super warm, but also more slim and fitted, so you won’t look like Frosty the Snowman in it! And on sale, I couldn’t pass it up!
Y’all know I’m having a blush pink moment here, but isn’t this pink a fun take on a plaid top?! There’s lots of styling options with these guys- unbuttoned, buttoned, tucked, untucked, under a puffer vest or sweater with the collar and tails poking out . . .
And again! with that sweet pink in a classic cable knit sweater. These sweaters also look great with turtleneck or collared shirt underneath and I’d love to wear this with my new grey jeans! See below for more on those!
I don’t shop too much at Old Navy because I find their quality hit or miss, but I do find cute and affordable kids clothes there (and recently bought a whole new Fall wardrobe for Jordan there), so I decided to pop in and see what’s good for women lately. I was pleasantly surprised to find some really great things- plus an AWESOME pair of grey jeans for only $15!! They were actually only $10 when I checked out, so let me know if they ring up that way for you too!
Just try to avert your eyes from the horrible cork and blue walls behind me! #myeyes!
I will say Old Navy has a great selection of puffer and quilted vests. I’ve stocked up on them in year’s past in several colors, but how cute is the camo version that’s out now?! It’s a great way to add pattern to your outfit and the camo print and color on this one are awesome. I like it layered with a bright pop of pink underneath- the sweater is surprisingly nice quality too and fits TTS, size up for a looser fit.
Now here are the AMAZING grey jeans! I honestly feel bad for thinking poorly of Old Navy after trying on this pair and LOVING them! They are a comfortable mid-rise jean that actually fit me everywhere- the thighs, waist and hips without any gaping in the back. That’s hard to come by! Of course they are a little long in 0Regular, but online they also come in short and tall. (I’m gonna just carefully cut mine with scissors and leave the hem with a raw edge). The quality is nice too- not too thin or scratchy! And like I said, only $15! You cannot beat that! I’ll show you soon lots of ways to wear grey jeans if you need a few ideas for yours!
Quilted Vest XS (30% Off)
If you want a vest with less bulk, the quilted vest is the way to go. It’ll still offer you a layer of warmth, but it’s more slimming. This one comes in a ton of colors and I love it with this striped sweater!

Peacoat XS (Under $50)
If you’re looking for a budget-friendly winter coat, this one is nice and polished and under $50! It’s well tailored with pockets and the length is nice and flattering.
It fits TTS, but with my larger chest, I would have to size up to a small to be able to comfortably move my arms, and then it would be too big. 🙁 Over 100 reviewers loved the fit though and it also comes in petite and tall and more colors.
It doesn’t seem to matter the season, I’m always reaching for a basic tee to wear in or out of the house. It’s the easiest thing to throw on for errands, weekend grocery runs or to dress up with a blazer, heels, and accessories for a night out!
I like this tee for the raw-edge v-neckline and slimmer-through-the-body shape and it’s only $17! It’s also a nice length in the back. #bonus
The Lush v-neck tee is also a closet staple and makes for a perfectly front-tucked casual tee that’s silky soft. The v-neck is deeper on this one than the one above with a front pocket.
Where has this pink ball cap been all my life?! It’s velvet and feminine and sooooo plush and pretty in person! It’s adjustable in the back and on the snuggest setting, it fits me perfectly! If you wear hats, this is a MUST HAVE!
You can’t tell from the picture how soft and cozy this sweatshirt dress is on the inside- it might as well be pajamas! I would be really cute with your pink slip-on sneakers (40% off) for running errands on the weekend.
But onto some party ready dresses! I tried on a ton, but only these three made the cut for ya!
First up, this sassy little black dress with alternating checks and roses and a keyhole neckline is perfect for your next party or fancy date night. It’s sexy and fitted without being too revealing. The 1/2 fit me everywhere, but I’d have to shorten it to get it at mini-dress length (like it looks on the supermodel).
You’ll be gorgeous and ultra comfortable in this long sleeve wrap dress. You can’t tell from the pic, but it has the sweetest ruffle down the side that coordinates with the ruffle hem. The deep-v doesn’t feel too exposed with the longer sleeves and modest length. It’s only $45 and would look great with heels, boots or booties.
This dress is looks classy and elegant on, with the high, keyhole neckline and ruffle hem. I could totally see dancing the night away in this dress! It fits TTS, but was a little too wide on my hips. Nothing a quick alteration couldn’t fix though!
I swear I feel like I’ve been sick forever, but it’s only been a little over a week. I am finally starting to feel better though and next week, I’m starting back with my awesome trainer after a long break! I’m super excited, but I should probably be more scared! #itsgonnahurt
Anyways, now that it’s getting cold here, I bought my favorite high waist leggings in a full length version. You guys know by now that I SWEAR BY the high waist for extra tummy control and they are so flattering and comfortable, you’ll feel amazing in them! I bought this ‘lightning’ print for a bit of a kick but they come in other colors and solid black too.
The tank is also great quality, a nice cut (I like a thinner racerback) and breathable so you don’t overheat while you’re working out! The way the seams are sewn on the side also helps give you an hourglass shape. #thankyouverymuch
These are the slippers I was telling you about the other day. They are ultra warm and cozy for your feet, but almost too warm and substantial for Houston. We don’t get that cold here and these are actually indoor/outdoor, so I think in a colder climate you will LOVE them or be a hero if you give them as a Christmas gift, but here, I’m gonna return mine for something a little lighter.
Never too early for cozy Christmas jammies! ❤? I always buy mine early before all the good ones are sold out and all that’s left are the ugly ones and not even in my size! 😉 This pair is cute ‘n comfy and fits TTS.
