2 Outfits with Leggings

Did you do your fair share of supporting the economy yesterday??  I can definitely say that I sure did! And I made a big dent in our toy list and picked up a few things for friends. I remember as a kid my Grandma handing me the toy catalog and having me cut out the pictures of the toys I wanted to ask Santa for.  I’d put all the pictures in an envelope and give it to Santa when we would go visit him at the mall.  I had James circle things he wanted from the Target catalog and he not only circled and starred the iPhone and Apple watch!  Um . . . not happening kid! You’re 7! But he also circled things like a Fart Blaster, which I think Santa’s elves are busy working on as we speak!

I’m blaming Thanksgiving for my recent obsession with my leggings!  We have a love/love relationship and they seem to be the thing I’ve been reaching for most lately!

If you’ve been here before, you’ve probably heard me mention that my favorite leggings are the Hue wide waistband leggings.  They’re the best I’ve found for comfort, quality and fit- being perfectly opaque, washing well, and holding up for years!  They fit TTS and I wear XS with some extra length on me that I just bunch up a bit around my ankles.

If you read my Tops to Wear with Leggings post, you know I always look for shirts that are long enough to cover you both in the front and back.  This tunic tee is pretty long and with a cardigan it’s even longer, so the perfect length to wear with leggings.

The cardigan is cozy soft and it has a nice bit of stretch to it, with pockets!  I saw that sizes were limited on my exact cardigan, so in case they don’t have it in your size, I found some similar for you below:

How cute is that tassel necklace?!

I’m also crazy for these drop tassel earrings.  I wore them in my Holiday Party Dresses – under $100 post, but I don’t think I got a close up of them.  They aren’t as heavy as they look!

I’ve been wanting to bust out my red Hunter boots for awhile now.  December is the perfect month for them! You guys know I got creative and bought the kids version because they fit my short legs so well.

Do you choose a new Starbuck’s flavor for the holidays?  I usually stick with a non-fat white mocha, with light whip. Gotta have some whip!!

And then to give you another more low key and less festive look, I swapped the red boots for my black heeled boots and exchanged the tassel necklace for my triple strand Y necklace.

Boots

I loooove everything about these boots for a sassy black, high-heeled knee high boot.  I’m 5’1 and they hit me at the top of my knee.  The cut is awesome (you can easily sit and walk) and I dig the slouchy style- it’s not too wide and not too tight on your leg.  Of course they will be great with leggings and jeans, but I love showing them off with a skirt or dress too.

Pink Wrap Tunic • Leggings  TTS • Boots •  Similar Bag • Y Necklace

As soon as I tried on this wrap sweater, I couldn’t wait to wear it!  It’s so snuggly soft and the prettiest shade of pink.  I was happy to see that it was just long enough on me to wear with leggings!

The sweater is a faux wrap, so it won’t come all the way undone for any wardrobe malfunctions;) At first I thought I would need a cami underneath it, and you certainly could do that, but here, I’m just wearing the sweater.

Sunglasses

I also wanted to show you how easy it is to pair black and tan, like with these gorgeous tan boots!  You first saw me in them with jeans and a snuggly $49 cardigan, but I also like them with dresses (see here and here!)

Here’s a better look at that necklace that I’ve been wearing any chance I get.  To me, it looks best with v-neck tops to show off the Y part.

And because I know it’s been really cold for lots of you, I found a scarf that ties in with the colors from the sweater and the boots perfectly, with a tiny bit of black too!

Are your leggings seeing lots of daylight lately too?!  Have a great day!

  1. I love the HUE leggings! Amazon carries the same ones in the Skimmer (ankle length) for when you don’t want the extra length bunching at the bottom, like when wearing flats. As a fellow short person, they’re awesome! I did find they ran a tiny bit smaller than the long ones, but not so much it bothered me.

    1. This color was an accident because I asked for something different- so there are actually two colors layered on there and I don’t know what they are called!

  2. The outfits are great, but that red lip really rocks! What color is it? I’m much taller, but love the leggings from Soma-high waisted and simple! Would love to have that scarf-just the right pop of red! Thanks for always inspiring!

    1. Hi Carol! That red lip color is MAC- brave red. It’s very matte, so sometimes I’ll add a sheer gloss to it! I’ve never heard of the Soma leggings- thanks for sharing!
