Transitioning to Fall | 3 Budget Friendly Outfits

We have been on quite the roll with Fall fashion this month!  I think that always happens in September – we’re ready to wear those Fall looks and are looking at YOU, weather, to cooperate! Bit by bit, I’m amping up my Fall wardrobe and even ordered too many things for Jordan recently.  I showed incredible restraint early on, and we had been given so many things for newborn through the first three months, but I looked up and now she’s growing and outgrowing her clothes and wearing 6-9 months, even some 12 months!   As a first time girl mom, I felt it was my right of passage to do some damage in the baby girl department.  #likebootcamp Lucky for me, my husband totally understands and I think he was even surprised it took me this long!
For today, I’m ready to show you a few early Fall styles you can easily achieve without breaking the bank.  You guys know I shop all the time at Nordstrom, but I got the opportunity to do a collaboration with Nordstrom Rack, which I feel like I always forget about!  We have two Nordstrom Racks not too far from my house, but I wondered if they were as easy to shop online as Nordstrom is since my days of shopping outside the house are few and far between.  Turns out, they are!  It makes it even easier when they have FREE shipping on orders over $100 and a great return policy too – you have 90 days to return by mail or in one of their stores.
I found so many awesome things online (way more selection than when I’ve shopping in the store) and for so much less than I’d normally spend.  I’m always budget conscious even though I admit to splurging on occasion.  But who doesn’t love to save money?!  #DaveRamseystudent

I’ve been all about the cold shoulder/off shoulder look lately and this adorable burgundy top is only $22!  I find this style so flattering because they are loose in the middle and show off just enough skin to still look hot.  #comfymamachic  And with a cold shoulder top, you can still wear a regular bra without the straps showing.

I’m crazy for this delicate gold layered necklace too.  It’s a great length and adds that extra pizazz to your outfit.

My jeans are by Citizens of Humanity, but are dead ringers for this pair by Joe’s.  Nordstrom Rack has tons of designer denim if you’re looking to add to your collection.  How fun are these Rag & Bone wide leg jeans?!

And don’t even get me started on the boots and booties! This pair by Splendid is a must-have! Splendid is known for top notch quality and this particular style you can wear with everything.  I love the stitching, substantial (but not too chunky) heel, and the slight dip in the front that elongates your leg. It comes in several colors and if we were shopping together and you were torn between two, I’m the friend that would say, “get both!”

Now I’m a girl who knows her t-shirts, wearing them most of the time if I’m just hanging out at home with the baby, and I found a style I’m in love with and for only $15!  I liked it so much I got it in three colors, but I have a feeling I should have bought every color at that price!
What makes this tee so great is 1) the v neckline (draws the eye up toward your face); 2) the cut that nips in at the waist to help make you look smaller there; 3) the cut raw egde- super chic; and 4) the length that is long enough to tuck in or wear untucked and not be too short/too long.  It fits TTS, I’m wearing XS.

Jeans and a tee is a great casual early Fall look, but it will look even better if your shirt and jeans fit just right.  And with a bootcut jean, a heel will help your legs look longer.  Take it from a 5’1 girl who can use all the help she can get in that department.

Keeping the accessories simple lets the leopard belt be the star or you could do a black belt and leopard heels or add a leopard scarf. A little leopard goes a long way!

I told you I liked the shirt so much that I bought it in multiple colors.  I wanted to show you it untucked, so I wore it with the comfiest dark camo pants and you won’t believe the price on those – $15.40!

Can you see in this pic the ‘raw edge’ cut of the shirt?  Those details make it look like those pricier shirts.
And below is a good picture that shows how the cut of the tee comes in at your waistline, then isn’t too short or too long in back.  I even like where the sleeves hit because sometimes I’m picky about that.  I hate it when the sleeves are too square and boxy or come down too low if you know what I mean.

I couldn’t leave you without sharing more of what caught my eye online at Nordstrom Rack.  And remember, if you get stuck deciding between two, my motto is #getboth! 😉

  1. I wanted to tell you that I am loving your current look. Your hair color is so flattering that I was encouraged to go darker this week also. I wasn't sure I liked my hair at first either, but I really love it now. I think your pencil skirt outfit photos from yesterday were stunning. Thanks also for the fitness posts. I am learning a lot from them!

  2. Thank you for posting those camo skinny pants! I've been looking for some like that and when I saw they were $15, I ordered right away! I just got an email saying they've shipped, so hopefully I'll have them soon!! 🙂

  3. That dark red is perfect for your coloring! And I totally understand the shopping for baby girl thing…I have two daughters (ages 3 and 1) and will be finding out soon if the one on the way is a girl or boy!
