Weekend Steals | Nordstrom Sale Outfits

Yay for the weekend friends!  I’ve been looking forward to today for nine months if you know what I mean!  Although this time it’s my little brother and his high-school sweetheart turned wife having their first baby today!  I’ll be on the edge of my seat until that happens and I can’t wait to hold another newborn baby!  Jordan is already getting so big!And tomorrow, I’m looking forward to meeting you at the Palais Royal in Meyerland!  I know your weekends are busy, but this will be a fun event for the kiddos too, so if you’re in Houston, I hope you can swing by between 11am-1pm.

WW | Best Dresses & Romper

This Wardrobe Wednesday post features all the dresses I’m loving lately, and there are several.  A few are breastfeeding friendly if you happen to be a milk machine like me currently. 😉 Many are part of the #NSale and going fast, but I’ve heard from Nordstrom that if something from the sale is out of stock to check back, because they are “restocking daily”.  Let’s hope so because there are still a few things I want that I wasn’t quick enough to purchase yet! I just looked up at realized we’re already more than halfway past this year!  What a year it’s been so far! Obviously, the biggest and best change around here is the addition of our bundle of joy, Ms. Jordan Nicole.  She’s already 5 months old and just growing by the day!  I love how interactive she is and what a sweet ball of mushiness her little body feels like. She smiles often and her hair is a hot mess all the time. 😉  She was born with a full head of dark hair, but rubbed the sides and back off and was left with only a giant tuft on top.

Good morning friends!  We’re moving slow over here after a particularly lazy weekend!  But, I’m gearing up for an event this Saturday in Houston and I’d love to meet you there!

I’ll be at the Palais Royal in Meyerland Back to School Party on Saturday July 30 from 11am – 1pm. It will be a great time, with a live DJ, refreshments, photo booth and pictures with the Texans mascot, Toro.  My son is super excited for that!  We’ll kill two birds with one stone because I can shop for his school uniform from French Toast there too!

WW | Outfits Lately

Woo hoo, we’re halfway to the weekend again!  So far, this summer has been both fun and also exhausting! I know I just posted about getting Jordan to sleep through the night, so that has given me more sleep lately, but the days still feel so loooong!  It’s hard to keep up with these kiddos! This is why they say it’s best to have your kids when you are young! 

I took Jordan to her 4 month doctor appointment in this nursing friendly dress and then wore it to dinner later in the week.  It’s soft material like a tee-shirt and comes in 3 colors.

Transitioning Your Baby to the Crib & Getting Her to Sleep Through the Night

About three weeks ago, we began to transition Jordan from my bed to her crib and it went so well that I waited to write about it to make sure it wasn’t a fluke.  Don’t get me wrong, it wasn’t without any crying, which would probably be a miracle, but it was so much less painful than I anticipated!  It took about one week to get her sleeping through the night in her crib and I couldn’t have been more surprised.

And just like that, it’s back to Monday again! Some weekends just fly by and this was one of them.  I started working on Jordan’s “transitioning to the crib and sleeping through the night” post, so I’ll have that to you soon!  Since it’s been several weeks now, I’m starting to feel like it’s not a fluke! #praisetheLord And guess what?! She’s five months old today!  I can’t believe it!  I just wrote her 3-month old routine yesterday! 

This weekend, we did manage to create some toy organization in the playroom/media room that I’m all giddy about.

Playroom Paint Makeover | Iron Ore Sherwin-Williams

Slowly but surely, we’ve been working on turning our playroom into the media room that it was always intended to be. We moved into our house about 6 years ago, and for the longest time this room was a big ole storage dump, but we ended up cleaning it up and making it work as a playroom a couple years ago.  Now that our son is older and he and Dad enjoy playing videogames together, we wanted to swap out the basketball hoop for a tv and bring in some seating so that the adults and kids can be in the room comfortably at the same time.

Let’s hear it for the weekend!  This last week has been marked by transitioning baby Jordan to her crib and it’s been stressful and exhausting and good all at the same time.  I have to say I’m so proud of how well she’s done and I’ll give you a full run-down of our process soon here.  Last night was the first time she didn’t wake up in the middle of the night and I woke up so freaked out! And wet from not feeding her! Heart palpitations!!  Thankfully, she was fine, just sleeping soundly!   I shared some on my snapchat if you want to check it out (@honeywerehome).

As a stay-at-home mom, I have to admit, as much as I usually look forward to summer, I was apprehensive about this one.  I’m sure it was because it would be my first summer home with two kiddos; a 6 year-old and a 4 month-old.  It’s hard enough to juggle a baby alone, but add in the older sibling and I worried that I’d be overwhelmed and unable to get out the door to do fun activities with my son having a baby in tow.  My son loves video games and his iPad and watching YouTube videos, and he’d probably do that all day if I’d let him.
