Wardrobe Wednesday | In the Dressing Room #2

Call me a sucker (or willing participant), but that Loft Cash I got when I went shopping at Loft last month lured me back into their store on the last day before those funds expired.  #phewthatwasclose! I found so many cute things!  I can’t wait to show you!
This gingham top caught my eye right away.  It’s lightweight and the cap sleeves are adorable. You could wear it tucked for a more professional look at work and it would be perfect with black slacks (these were a fave when I worked in an office full-time) or a skirt (this flare style is great), strappy heels (15% off) and a multistrand pearl necklace.  For weekends, wear it untucked with white jeans – these are my very favorite pair and they’re currently on sale, which doesn’t happen too often!
These next two peplum tanks looked cute on the hanger, but I wasn’t sure how they’d look on.  I’m glad I tried them on because I typically wear a regular cotton tank like this (40% off) or this for a casual look, but these elevate your look with their fun summer shape.

This floral vine peplum tank was $49.50, marked down to $44.99 and now 50% off that! It comes in regular and petite and I’m wearing the XSP.

I thought the tank would be super cute with these black scallop shorts.  It’s hard to tell in the picture, but they have a nice quilted texture to them.

It’s not the best look with a nursing bra, but a bandeau bra or strapless bra will work so there’s no straps showing.

I loved, loved this chambray off-the-shoulder top, and the tie at the 3/4 sleeve is adorable, but they only had Medium at the store and it was too big on me.  It looks like they have regular and petite available online and in all sizes, so I may have to order it!  And OMG, it comes in a dress version!
I tried this soft short sleeve off-the-shoulder tee last time and it’s cool because you can wear it on or off your shoulders.  This striped one #yaystripes you can also wear both ways.
The top would be great with white jeans, but I wasn’t crazy about the pair I tried on.  I felt like the high ankle and kick crop cut made my short legs look even shorter.  But, it’s the only white denim I brought into the dressing room, so you get the idea how the top would look with white jeans.  I’d stick with my favorite white skinny jeans (ooh, they’re on sale, 25% off!!!) & here. Or this pair from Loft that has a skinnier ankle (now $25!)

I’m all for winter white, and this texture stitch tank is awesome!  It’s the perfect combo of sweater and tank top! Sometimes I like summer sweaters (you have to see this oneonly $20!) on the slouchy side, but this tank looks good fitted.  It also comes in olive or a really pretty coral.  Was $44.50, marked down to $34.99 and now an extra 50% off.

I equally like the white top and coral bottom combo.  Again, like the color, but not the cut on me.  I have colored jeans in NYDJ brand that fit well, but they run big, so size down (pre-preg I wore 00P).  They are currently 33% off and come in 14 colors.
Here’s a close up of the top so you can see the detail.  I’d wear a nude bra with it so it’s camouflaged under the stitching.
This drop-waist style dress is a departure from what I normally wear, but I loved how loose and cool the fabric felt on and since it has that front button detail, it’s also good for breastfeeding.  It was a keeper and I already wore it to the movies with the kids.  And I did nurse in it!  Mom tip: movie theaters are a great place to nurse discreetly.

This drop waist dress in black and white stripes was also calling my name.  It felt soft on like a tee-shirt and I could see wearing it with heels for a night out or flat sandals for the weekend.

I liked the fabric and print on this dress, but I didn’t think it was that flattering on me.  But, it’s fully lined and actually dark navy, which is different from the typical black and white.  It’s only $25 now.

The dress below is a winner! The criss-cross top makes it good for breastfeeding, but even if you aren’t, I like the v-neck and it criss-crosses in the back too, which makes it pretty coming and going. I wore it yesterday to Jordan’s doctor appointment.  Did you see on snapchat?! (@honeywerehome)

I’m definitely #teamromper and I know a lot of you are too or would be if you found an age-appropriate one.  Well, here you go!  This one looks sophisticated and fun at the same time.  It’s not too short, not too low cut, and is different from many I’ve seen because it wraps up top and ties at the waist.  It even has pockets! This came home with me for sure! It’s 50% off now, so scoop it up!

Here’s another romper option for you (50% off now) and it also comes in coral. I like how the high neckline balances out the shorts and this is a dressier romper, something I’d have no problem going out to dinner in.

Finally, this jumpsuit I was initially on the fence about.  I asked y’all about it on Instagram and the majority of you said get it, while a few said it looked like pajamas.  😉 It’s the same print as my shorts that I like, but I wasn’t sure if it was too much allover pattern.  I couldn’t believe that it actually fit in the top and length and ended up getting it because it was so different.

Hope you all have a great day- we’re halfway to the looonnngggg weekend!!!!

    1. That chambray top is one of those I'm still thinking about- doesn't that mean I need it?! You're right, would go well into Fall!

  1. I love your blog!!!! I recently found it and I'm addicted to it. Your home has my dream kitchen. Love all of the outfits. I thought the floral navy dress looks great on you. I would love to see more posts about your workout routine and meal prep. Also, not sure if you've ever posted about how or why you decided not to practicing law. I'm an attorney and I'm just curious 😉

    1. So glad you found me! For more fitness posts, click here: https://www.honeywerehome.com/p/fitness.html

I practiced law for about 10 years, my last job was a contact position that ended right at the time my Dad was diagnosed with cancer. I looked for another job, but didn't find one and it ended up being God's perfect plan because I got to be there for my parents and family and go to all the doctor visits, etc. during that precious time. I put my license on hold, but you never know . . .it's sometimes bittersweet because I worked so hard to put myself through law school and become a lawyer and I did enjoy it, but you can also never get those young child years back and I enjoy being home with my babes so much! What kind of law do you practice? I did (mostly) civil defense work.

    2. Thanks for your reply. I represent a child protection agency. Before having my son (he's 2 years old) I could not envision leaving my job to stay home. Now, I so wish I could do it. I love my job but feel terrible when I can't spend quality time with my son because of work. It's great that you get to spend this precious time with your beautiful kids. Btw, you look great. I'm still dealing with a flabby belly two years later.

  2. I also bought that gingham dress today at 50% off + I had $15 off for my birthday month. We'll just call it $20. I washed it this afternoon, took it right out of the dryer and it looks like it won't wrinkle too badly. Love it!
